@WhiteHorse92 @suz2285 that's a good point because with my daughter I'm sure they mentioned the placenta a lot further on than 12 weeks! Who knows then 😂

WhiteHorse92 · 07/07/2023 19:28

Okay I'm completely ignoring any nub/skull/ramzi theory, I'll just keep convincing myself one way or the other and probably be wrong 😅. Going to book a private scan for 4 weeks time to find out because I'm impatient 😅.

suz2285 · 07/07/2023 19:40

@WhiteHorse92 well ramzi said boy for me, I just sent the nub pics to two separate places and one said not enough nub to be detailed enough and the other said girl 😂 so god knows! I've got a gender scan booked but not till almost 19 weeks 😂

ChloeN · 07/07/2023 19:56

@WhiteHorse92 mine didn’t until I asked, I’d already been told anterior at 10 weeks so I mentioned it and she agreed, although she did say they don’t bother saying until 20 weeks which is annoying because they can clearly tell!

@Jolayla the nub theory doesn’t sound very accurate then lol🤣 I’ve only got a couple of weeks to go and then I’ll know for sure 😂 hopefully he starts moving again over the weekend! X

tulipsunday · 08/07/2023 08:53

Glad your scan went well @WhiteHorse92 cute little photo! No I wasn't told anything about placenta at 12wks. Think I am starting to get the odd flutter now 😊14wks tomorrow. Definitely sooner than with my son which was more like 18weeks.

Hiii everyone, so after speaking to @ChloeN she thinks baby looks bigger than 10+5 from my scan pic....now I'm intrigued? Haha what's everyone's opinion?

Hello, looking for a handhold please.

Background - Earlier this week I had a scare where I woke up on Monday to fresh red blood and clotting. I had brown spotting all day Monday, by Tuesday it had changed to a kind of stringy pinkish-brown discharge (which actually worried me a lot as it looked exactly like the way my second miscarriage started) It tailed off by Tues evening. Scan on Wednesday morning showed baby was fine and no more pockets of blood were seen. Big relief.

This morning I've been having some more brownish discharge and I'm feeling worried. I know logically it's most likely to be leftover blood from Monday's bleed that's taken a few days to work its way out, or maybe irritation from the internal Scan on Wednesday. But it looks so much like the first day I was miscarrying last time.

Anyone had any similar experiences? The internet just says it's perfectly normal to bleed/spot in early pregnancy...

suz2285 · 08/07/2023 13:30

@Brokenpancreas94 looks kinda similar to mine at 9 weeks but it's hard to say! I assume they did a crl so that'll tell them! Be interesting to see when you go back in a week ish?

@EMHME yeah it sounds like probably leftover blood from the bleed, annoying thing is no one can really reassure you because no one knows, but if you had a scan on Wednesday and they could see all was ok then it probably is just old blood working it's way out... 🤞 sorry it's such a stressful time x

ChloeN · 08/07/2023 14:11

@suz2285 my thought was that it looked so tilted up like mine did at 12 weeks I’m not sure how they can accurately measure🤣 I suppose my sonographer might of just been extra cautious when she said she couldn’t give me a due date!

@EMHME I think it definitely sounds like the same blood making it’s way out, but I know how hard it is to be logical when all you want to do is panic!

Brokenpancreas94 · 08/07/2023 14:15

@suz2285 more than likely but they didn't tell me and I don't have the report still, il just have to wait and see 🤷‍♀️

@EMHME I didn't have red blood, but I had brown around 7/8 weeks and had a scan and baby was fine, it showed that I had a bleed next to the pregnancy sac, so you may have the same and it's all just coming out x

moosey89 · 08/07/2023 19:14

@EMHME as someone else going through stress - I'm here alongside you. Keeping everything crossed it's just old blood and everything is absolutely fine for you. Do you have any follow up scans? xx

EMHME · 08/07/2023 23:36

Thank you everybody for the support. I haven't had any spotting/weird discharge at all for a couple of hours now so feeling much calmer and more rational!

I've also just started progesterone pessaries today (the brown discharge started before I took it though) which I know can irritate the cervix and cause spotting, so hoping I don't end up with more symptoms to stress myself out over!

tulipsunday · 09/07/2023 07:43

@EMHME it is an anxious time but glad things seem to have settled down for you.

Extremelyyyyyy early but baby names...all the names we like people we know have them....would you just not go for them names now or? 😂

Hankthehonk · 09/07/2023 19:44

@Brokenpancreas94 it depends who it is! If it's family or friends we see a lot I'd write off that name. But if it's just an acquaintance it might be ok.
We've had our boy name picked since first pregnancy which ended up being a girl, and we decided on a girl name during the pregnancy that ended in miscarriage. We have only had a very brief chat about it but confirmed we're both completely set on them. Better hope nobody we know uses them before February...

Ladyinpink1 · 09/07/2023 19:47

@EMHME Sorry to read about your experience so far, I can imagine how stressed and worried you must of been.

Glad to hear baby was well at the scan, hoping you don't have too long to wait for your next scan x

Brokenpancreas94 · 09/07/2023 19:53

@Hankthehonk yeah it's a family member but not someone I see a lot, and it's boy names we are struggling with, picked a girl name ages ago...asked our 7 year old for ideas...she came up with "Shlord" 😂

Hankthehonk · 09/07/2023 19:58

@Brokenpancreas94 Shlord 😅😅 there you are, the search is over.
My almost 3year old wants to name a baby Margaret, regardless of sex 🙃

Brokenpancreas94 · 09/07/2023 20:03

@Hankthehonk Margaret 😂😂 our daughter loves the name Sheila as well 😂 got to love them 😂😂x

suz2285 · 09/07/2023 20:03

@Brokenpancreas94 shlord is obviously the winner 😂

I started a list of names years ago, let husband look and we ended up with 3 names left, all girls, I've been adding to the list again but waiting for him to veto all those! anyone a friends fan? Veto starts to sound good 😂😂

Brokenpancreas94 · 09/07/2023 20:05

@suz2285 ahh Veto 😂 I love friends 😂😂😂

suz2285 · 09/07/2023 20:09

@Brokenpancreas94 me too, I always think veto sounds like a New York gangster name 😂

Brokenpancreas94 · 09/07/2023 20:13

@suz2285 it does doesn't it 😂😂

WhiteHorse92 · 09/07/2023 20:51

@Brokenpancreas94 we have a definite girls name, have no idea if it's another boy though. I suggested a few names to my partner but they're names of people he works with or has worked with in the past and apparently that means we can't use them 🙄. I also feel like I dislike 95% of boys names which doesn't help 😅

The tiredness and sickness is definitely getting worse. Yesterday at work I thought I was going to end up leaving half way through as I felt so rubbish and today the exhaustion has been on another level, can barely get off the sofa. I've had lamb tagine going all day in the slow cooker and couldn't even eat any in the end, I feel a bit better now because I've had a bowl of chocolate cereal and milk instead 😅

tulipsunday · 09/07/2023 21:04

Haha @WhiteHorse92 my husband is like that some strange logic as to why we can't have certain names. Think we have decided our top boy and girl name though. I love Rory for a boy and it would work with my son's name but can't get my husband on board so think it is off the list. Though frankly if I have to give birth I think I should have the final say 😂😂

Think I would avoid any close family or friends' children's names but otherwise all fair game I think. @Brokenpancreas94
