Am also due in April! I think it's around mid-April.

I've got to wait till 3 October until our 12 week scan and feels like the days are crawling by. My nausea has pretty much disappeared and know I shouldn't worry about that but can't help it. I do still feel zombie tired and am also constipated so bad!

TheBirdintheCave · 22/09/2023 20:13

@SparkleFly Yes they really are 😂 It's my birthday on Tuesday and I'm already wishing it gone.

tulipsunday · 25/09/2023 12:07

@TheBirdintheCave hope it goes quickly for you!

Aw lovely some Spring due dates. I had my son in April and the weather was great - used to go on long walks to see the bluebells and get him to sleep 😂 looking forward this time to having the cosy winter baby snuggles!

How's everyone doing? It's quiet in here 😂

I've got my 25 week midwife appointment this week and our (last) 3D rescan hopefully get a pic of his little face if he behaves!

WhiteHorse92 · 25/09/2023 15:34

I'm doing alright but the round ligament pain started yesterday so now I'm waddling everywhere 😅. Started around the same time as my first pregnancy so I knew it was imminent 😅. This baby also loves kicking and punching me all day especially at night when I'm trying to fall asleep in bed and she loves punching and pressing on my bladder 🙉. I don't remember feeling the baby movement and kicks so much at around this time with my son and I had a posterior placenta first time round as well 😅. I am really enjoying my pregnancy pillow as well, I think I'll just sleep with it forever even after the baby is born!

SparkleFly · 25/09/2023 19:07

I have my reassurance scan at the hospital tomorrow. Can anyone remember how much water to drink and how far in advance? They didn't tell me on the phone and I can't remember from before. I'll be 9 weeks (hopefully 🤞🙏)

Brokenpancreas94 · 25/09/2023 19:52

@WhiteHorse92 ligament pain is full blown for me too mainly when I'm walking 😂sometimes feel like my belly is going to burst 😂
Feeling a lot more movements these last 2 days, felt a couple on the outside of my belly today...if that makes sense! X

@SparkleFly I haven't a clue, I think possibly a pint an hour before or something... I never really have a pint beforehand and for all my scans they've told me I've got a full bladder 😂🙈 good luck!! Xx

suz2285 · 25/09/2023 20:04

@WhiteHorse92 yeah round ligament pain over here too! It was bad last week but I think I overdid it with a long walk, will be trying to not go so far in the future it seems to be a bit better this week!

@SparkleFly usually a pint like 30 mins before, just enough to fill your bladder basically! I remember downing a few glasses before an appointment and I needed to pee so badly it was uncomfortable, so yeah just do enough to fill it up a bit 😂 some places do internal scans for 9 weeks as well - in which case you'll need to empty your bladder anyway

@Brokenpancreas94 good news about the kicks! We've had a lot of movement here this weekend and today too!

SparkleFly · 26/09/2023 10:26

@TheBirdintheCave Happy Birthday! Hope you have a lovely day 🎂

suz2285 · 26/09/2023 10:30

happy birthday @TheBirdintheCave Hope you're up to something nice! x

TheBirdintheCave · 26/09/2023 10:32

Aww cheers guys! :D Unfortunately I'm still working today and then we have no one to watch toddler in the evening so we're stuck in. Although I also have dreadful nausea so wouldn't be up to going anywhere anyway. Will probably just get a takeaway if I feel up to it :)

I got a label maker :D

SparkleFly · 26/09/2023 10:40

Hope you're all ok, this round ligament pain doesn't sound fun at all!

I've just been for my reassurance scan, huge sigh of relief when the sonographer said there was a heartbeat, and is measuring as it should. It was even having a little wriggle around 🥰

Bit of a scary moment when she said she could see a little haematoma below, but then afterwards the nurse explained they're fairly common and they can occur during implantation and will leave the body either as light bleeding or will be reabsorbed. Never come across this before so it's all new to me.

It had arms! Amazing! And they gave me a photo to show husband 🥰

Now for another deep breath until the 12 week scan!! I haven't even had my booking appointment yet so who knows when then will be 🙈

TheBirdintheCave · 26/09/2023 10:55

@SparkleFly That's amazing! :D

LuneDArgent · 26/09/2023 10:55

@SparkleFly I'm so pleased for you!! You can relax a little bit now ☺️ Don't worry about the hematoma, I had one too. Discovered after bleeding a lot at 8 weeks. They told me to take it easy (no heavy lifting, intense sport etc.) to avoid bleeding again. And I didn't: by 16 weeks it had disappeared (and I think mine was quite big)!

@TheBirdintheCave happy birthday! 🥳

Everything good here, I think. Feeling a lot of movements which is reassuring. I have my 25 weeks midwife appointment on Thursday, and then next week I see a consultant because the blood flow resistance is a too high in my uterine arteries. Really stressed about that as it increases my risk of preeclampsia and restricted growth... 😔 Did that happen to any of you before?

suz2285 · 26/09/2023 11:06

@TheBirdintheCave ahh a label maker, amazing! Tbh it annoys me when people say have a great day when you're just having a normal day, on my birthday this year i was early pregnant, and running an exam at work, so yeah, i know the feeling!

@SparkleFly that's amazing! Such good news, it's so cute when they have teeny arm nubs isn't it! Have you got your booking appointment in? I had mine about 8.5 weeks and then my scan letter came through a few days later for about 10 days time, so it was all quite quick at that point. And then I was still panicking that all would be ok at the 12 week scan... etc!

@LuneDArgent i've got my 25 week appointment on Wednesday 😂not sure what to expect it just says urine, BP.... think most of the rest of the stuff is discussed at the 28 week appointment! After this one though i need my MatB1 and have to hand in my work maternity plan! it's only 12 weeks until i'm off now - just before Christmas! Don't know anything about the blood flow, but i'm sure they'll keep a really good eye on you

WhiteHorse92 · 26/09/2023 11:16

@SparkleFly that's fantastic news 😊

Brokenpancreas94 · 26/09/2023 11:16

Happy Birthday @TheBirdintheCave xxx

Brokenpancreas94 · 26/09/2023 11:20

Great news @SparkleFly. I had a haematoma too, and that's what had caused my dark brown discharge/bleeding early on in the pregnancy, it was scary but it was reassuring that baby had a heartbeat and was moving about! The discharge stopped just before my 12 week scan I think it was

@LuneDArgent I haven't had that before but have they mentioned aspirin? To help prevent preeclampsia...I'm on aspirin as I'm a type 1 diabetic, and I know @suz2285 takes aspirin too, good luck at your appointment xx

LuneDArgent · 26/09/2023 11:52

@suz2285 no idea what will be the appointment, but I have a long list of questions I want to ask 😂 I think they will listen to the heartbeat? They did at my 16 weeks appointment so I'm hoping to hear it again. I also need my MatB1! I'm also thinking to stop work just before Christmas, but didn't count how many weeks were left! 😬

@Brokenpancreas94 I am not on aspirin 😣 that's one of the things that has been stressing me. The recurrent MC clinic didn't recommend me aspirin because my blood tests were showing no clotting disorder. Then at my booking appointment the midwife assessed me at low risk for preeclampsia (which I'm obviously not anymore now...) so didn't prescribe aspirin. At my 20 weeks scan when then mentioned this blood flow problem they didn't say anything about aspirin, and I didn't think about asking as I didn't understand half of what they were saying... the day after, I called my midwife to try to get more explanation and I asked about aspirin. She told me to just wait for my consultant appointment... After doing a lot of reading, I really think I should have been on aspirin, but it seems that starting it after 20 weeks is too late anyway, I should have been on it much earlier 😔 I have been tempted to start aspirin so many times this pregnancy, but then decided to follow what was recommended to me. Now I feel that I should have followed my instinct...

Brokenpancreas94 · 26/09/2023 11:58

@LuneDArgent just had a google and it says it should be initiated before 28weeks, you're not that far yet are you? @suz2285 doesn't have hers prescribed she just takes it but think she takes 75mg instead of the 150mg, am I right Suz? So maybe start taking it now? It won't have any bad effect I don't think, but please don't beat yourself up! Easier said than done, I know xx

LuneDArgent · 26/09/2023 12:02

@Brokenpancreas94 oh ok, thank you, I don't remember where I read 20 weeks! I guess I could start it now just in case then (I'm 24+4), and ask the consultant next week.

Brokenpancreas94 · 26/09/2023 12:09

@LuneDArgent even if you start on just the 75mg at night you should be okay, it helps the placenta and helps prevent preeclampsia xx

WitcheryDivine · 26/09/2023 12:17

Almost time for a new thread!

I'm ok thanks - still worrying away every day but I was referred to the mental health midwife - not sure if they exist everywhere but if anyone is really suffering with the anxiety etc it's probably worth asking your usual midwife about it.

Brokenpancreas94 · 26/09/2023 12:22

@WitcheryDivine with my first pregnancy I was referred to the perinatal team and I saw an actual psychiatrist he was nice, and diagnosed me with "smiley depression and anxiety". This time (different hospital) they mentioned that if I needed any support then they would refer me for counselling xx

suz2285 · 26/09/2023 12:36

@LuneDArgent yeah it's strange they do things different at every place, they've not listened to the heartbeat at any of my appointments yet! I'm not sure if they start doing fundal height at this one either.... will find out on Wed

As @Brokenpancreas94 says i'm not prescribed asprin, but after my MC i did a lot of reading and started 75mg when i was TTC, and then kept it ongoing after I fell pregnant, everything I read had very little risk factors and a lot of potential good positives! I'm the same as you though I still feel bad taking it when not prescribed, but I don't feel like it has any negatives for me, i have family history of High BP, i'm over 35 and just over the 30 BMI at booking in... 30.09 or something stupid, but they still didn't recommend me to take anything!

@Brokenpancreas94 smiley depression, what a ridiculous term! haha, i think i have what they call high functioning anxiety and general anxiety, everything appears normal to everyone but inside I overthink and panic about everything then have a random breakdown every few months! though i've been ok during this pregnancy which I am most grateful for! Mostly ok! 😂
