@Brokenpancreas94 thats so odd, you think you’d be in so much pain by now!xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 20/09/2023 10:03

@ChloeN that's what I thought too! It doesn't make sense, this will be the 4th round of antibiotics too! Xx

tulipsunday · 20/09/2023 16:00

@Brokenpancreas94 hope it clears up!

Good luck @SparkleFly hope all ok with you!

Sorry for TMI, but have awful constipation the past few days, nothing I do seems to be helping! Has anyone else had this? I am 10 weeks today - feels like I'm getting all the most attractive symptoms!

Poor you. Doc suggested prune juice and I started having a small glass of it every morning for a while (post breakfast as it made me feel queasy). Definitely sorted things out and was cheap and easy if not super pleasant.

suz2285 · 20/09/2023 16:49

@sweetpotato29 a lot of water is always what I suggest for constipation. Drink a lot of water 😂 also prunes, or fresh orange juice or a cup of coffee on an empty stomach 😂

SparkleFly · 20/09/2023 19:30

@ssweetpotato29 I would avoid oats, eggs and bananas as they will thicken things up and slow them down (good if you have opposite problem though). Instead eat plenty of fibre, Weetabix, shredded wheat, orange juice. Obvs prunes if you can stomach them. And make sure you're drinking plenty of water, even though it's annoying as I'm sure you're already peeing every 20 minutes anyway.

SparkleFly · 20/09/2023 19:37

Just went to EPAU re the spotting yesterday. They took bloods and a urine sample and said they wouldn't do a scan at this stage! They said I should see the Dr who can check for an infection or thrush which can cause light bleeding.

Dr had a look at my cervix and said that I have an infection that's extremely common during pregnancy where it just kinda gets irritated due to all the hormones and it looks a bit red and the blood vessels sort of fur up. So that would explain the spotting. She said it's nothing to worry about at all and is self- limiting so will just sort itself out in a while.
She said that they will call me tomorrow with the blood test results as that's to check for HCG levels, and they might then invite me for a scan if they think I need it.
So I'm kind of reassured but was hoping to see a heartbeat on a monitor to set my mind at ease for sure. Am booking a private scan for next Friday though so fingers crossed all will be ok with that 🤞🤞🤞

suz2285 · 21/09/2023 09:14

@SparkleFly that's annoying they wouldn't scan you! they definitely would scan you at our EPU, just shows how different everywhere is! But yes, cervix irritation very common - i had the same a couple of times early on this pregnancy as well. Hope you're ok! 😊

sweetpotato29 · 21/09/2023 11:10

Thank you all for the good advice! Have upped water (so a crazy amount now 😅) and eating more dried fruit, juice, pulses etc. hasn't really helped yet, but will keep it up! Feeling so uncomfortable!

@SparkleFly that sounds frustrating! I don't understand why they don't do a scan sometimes as they have the facilities right there. I think a private scan is a good way to go if you're able to - hope everything is ok for that!

LuneDArgent · 21/09/2023 14:21

Hi all, I would like to join if that's ok? Thank you @suz2285 for giving me the link 😊

A bit about me:

I'm pregnant for the 5th time after 4 MC the past 2 years (happened all between 7 and 11 weeks). I'm 23+6 today, due 12th of January.

This pregnancy has been so difficult so far, it's still hard to believe that it might happen this time. I had a huge bleed at 8 weeks, and I had no doubt that it was another MC (I almost opened a bottle of wine that evening, fortunately I didn't 😅). I couldn't believe when 2 days later at the scan they told me that the baby was fine, but I had a subchorionic hematoma (it got bigger at the next scan, but had completely disappeared by 16 weeks). I have been under the care of the recurrent miscarriage clinic all the first trimester, and they have been really great. I had scans every two weeks and was on progesterone until 16 weeks. The progesterone is the only thing that has been different from the other pregnancies, I like to think that it has made the difference?
I can't believe I will be 24 weeks tomorrow!

suz2285 · 21/09/2023 14:26

welcome @LuneDArgent 😃Nice to have you here! Definitely sounds like progesterone has made a big difference to you this time! Must've been reassuring to have all those scans as well!

There's a few of us here due in Jan! And some just in the early stages. You've just reminded me that i'm 24 weeks on Sat (one day behind you!) It feels like it's going faster now, but as I was just saying to @Brokenpancreas94 the other day, there's still always that anxiety in the back of your mind with every twitch and weird feeling!

LuneDArgent · 21/09/2023 14:47

Thank you @suz2285 ! It's nice that we have almost the same due date 😊

Yes, the anxiety will never leave me I think. I actually had an awful nightmare last night that I was bleeding and loosing the baby, I woke up in panic 😰

@SparkleFly fingers crossed for you that everything is well and you will get some reassurance with your blood tests results until you can have a scan

SparkleFly · 21/09/2023 17:43

Welcome @LuneDArgent and how exciting that you're over half way! I can imagine it's been an extremely tough 2 years for you so sending huge hugs.

Hospital called me today and said my blood results were looking really good but have invited me for a scan anyway on Tuesday morning for reassurance. Am encouraged by her positive tone when she said about the bloods, but I also can't stop thinking about the fact that I keep hearing it takes a while for the hormone level to dip if anything has gone wrong. Anyone got any experience of this? I've never had a test to measure hcg before so not sure if it's likely to give a false sense of security??

Have been on progesterone for ages as it was an IVF transfer but unfortunately hasn't always helped me in the past.

I am so hungry today, I think this sudden colder weather hasn't helped. Husband has just gone out for a chippy!

Brokenpancreas94 · 21/09/2023 18:36

@LuneDArgent welcome! I'm due in January too! I'm due 26th January but because I'm type 1 diabetic, I'll be having baby no later than 38 weeks! Defo full of anxiety too! There's one relief that my HBa1c is the lowest it's ever been which is a good thing but I'm also taking so many different medications for chronic urticaria which makes me worry too!

@SparkleFly glad your bloods are looking good and that they're going to scan you again! Fingers firmly crossed for you!
I don't have experience of the hcg dropping as mine wasn't tested, but in my MC pregnancy I had one tiny stringy bit of brown 2 days before my scan but because I did a pregnancy test straight after and it was a strong positive I didn't think anything of it, until they said at my supposed 12 week scan that there was no heartbeat. The lines on tests didn't start getting fainter till I'd started bleeding...probably not the most accurate way to tell though! Xx

suz2285 · 21/09/2023 19:33

@SparkleFly that's great they'll scan you, that's much more accurate than a blood test right now anyway!

I've never had an HCG test as they just scan here if any issues! It's a positive if they said all was good though, so try not to panic and see what the scan says 🤞🤞

FirstTim3Mummy · 22/09/2023 07:53

After 2 MMC and 2 chemicals I find myself 5 weeks pregnant tomorrow

I'm getting cramping and lower back pains. Worried. Having a scan on 3rd October when I'll be 6w3d as I'm with the recurrent miscarriage clinic

Very anxious

Really want to see a heartbeat

TheBirdintheCave · 22/09/2023 08:41

@FirstTim3Mummy I know how you feel. I'm on two MMCs and one chemical. Now 6+1 and our scan with the EPU is on Thursday. It's such a frightening time. I really hope you get to see that magical heart beat on the third!

WitcheryDivine · 22/09/2023 08:48

Welcome to the new posters, I really hope this time all goes smoothly for you. There’s a few of us here due Jan and I think a few looking at more Mayish? Is that right?

TheBirdintheCave · 22/09/2023 08:56

@WitcheryDivine Yes, I'm mid May.

FirstTim3Mummy · 22/09/2023 09:09

@TheBirdintheCave wishing you all the best for Thursday ❣️ will it be your first scan? Really hope it's developing and you see a heartbeat too.

With my MCs I found out at 10 weeks that my baby stopped developing at around 6 weeks and my second was around 8 weeks

I'm on progesterone pessaries this time and praying this will make the difference what about you?

Is anyone else around 5-6weeks?

I'm exhausted and so constipated 😅

TheBirdintheCave · 22/09/2023 10:23

@FirstTim3Mummy I've been on the pessaries since 3dpo :) By pure serendipity they run out the morning of my scan so fingers crossed I can order some more and pick them up on the same day rather than having to traipse back to the hospital again.

And yes it will be our first scan for this pregnancy. Our first MMC was a blighted ovum found at 6 weeks and the second had a heartbeat at 6 weeks but was gone by 9. I think I'll be asking for a second scan at 9 weeks if all is well on Thursday.

WitcheryDivine · 22/09/2023 10:53

It's awful how much everyone here has been through, I'm so sorry Flowers

Constipation - prune juice truly does work! A glass a day it's gross though. I also laid off white flour stuff for a couple of days which helped, so avoided white bread and pasta and pastry. That all did the trick.

LuneDArgent · 22/09/2023 11:43

@Brokenpancreas94 thank you! 😊 nice to see a few people due in January!

@SparkleFly it's good that they were positive about your blood test result! Are they going to do another one to see if it's increasing or just waiting for the scan?
I have had some blood tests for 2 of my MC. The first time it was because the MC happened naturally very quickly, at 7 weeks. I had some spotting in the morning, then passed everything in the afternoon. Went to the hospital in the evening and as they couldn't see anything on the scan they took blood to check it was not ectopic. Level was very low for 7 weeks (less than 2000 if I remember well), and 2 days later it was half less. Second time I had blood taken 2 or 3 days before the MC because of some spotting, waiting for a scan, and again, HCG was 1900, at 8 weeks this time, so I knew it was wrong. I can't say if it's always the case, but it seems that at least for me the level started to decrease before the MC (or never went very high?)

Thinking of all of you waiting for your early scan, I remember so well the anxiety 💞

SparkleFly · 22/09/2023 18:26

I think I've worked out it will be late April for us.

I can't remember exactly what number the HCG was now, I thought it was 10'000 but having just googled it I'm now hoping it was more like 100'000. I was a bit taken aback by all the numbers as I've never been told my HCG level before so all I could say was "I'm sorry, does that mean it's good??" And she said yes it's fine, it's good. Now I'm really wishing I'd paid more attention to the number 🫤 No idea if they'll do more bloods on Tuesday, I kind of hope so just so I can keep check on it! Previous miscarriages were between 7 and 9 weeks so I feel like I'm in the danger zone right now.

I'm also a bit constipated! Oh joy! And can't stop farting 🤭 and soooo hungry.

SparkleFly · 22/09/2023 18:30

@TheBirdintheCave not long now until your 7 week scan, I bet the days are going so slowly for you.

@lune thanks for sharing your levels, I didn't know anything about them until now which I feel pretty dumb about as this is my 4th pregnancy 🙈

I am also on progesterone tablets and pessaries due to IVF pregnancy until 12 week scan.
