Feeling really weird today like lightheaded/dizzy, and I've got a headache! Can't describe it!

Nmvasey85 · 29/08/2023 12:23

How's everyone doing?

I'm feeling ropey at 13 weeks, rang docs this morning and I have an appointment for Friday. Does anyone know if anti sick/nausea meds actually work if you're not physically being sick?

The constant nausea and aversions are really getting to me. It's relentless and it's making me feel quite low and entirely fed up. I know it's worth it, I really do so I'm not complaining... well I am but you know 🤣

suz2285 · 29/08/2023 14:10

@Nmvasey85 yes they work for nausea, loads of us here were on them for nausea 😂 it's fun times! Don't let them fob you off with 'mints and fresh air' if you're feeling that bad, they really do help!

I was the same weeks 7-11 ish, constantly feeling nauseous and not wanting to eat but forcing myself to eat and crying about how I wasn't feeling well, hope you're feeling better soon 🤞

Nmvasey85 · 29/08/2023 15:08

Thanks @suz2285 that's really helpful and reassuring that there could be something out there that might work for me. We go on holiday on the 9th and the way I'm feeling right now, I'd rather not go. I can't think of anything worse than sitting in the sun. Hopefully I can get something and they'll kick in before we go. Even if it just takes the edge off. I will dig my heels in : )

Brokenpancreas94 · 29/08/2023 16:39

@Nmvasey85 I was prescribed cyclizine in this pregnancy and ondansetron in my MC pregnancy! Defo don't let them fob you off! Good luck xx

suz2285 · 29/08/2023 16:49

@Nmvasey85 did you have it bad early on too? I would think it will start to settle down soon now you're 13 weeks 🤞

Brokenpancreas94 · 30/08/2023 18:16

I'm coming on to moan...don't get me wrong I wanted/want this pregnancy so so much but boy am I fed up now, and I'm only 19 weeks! My hives aren't any better, and I can't stand up straight due to lower back pain 😭

Hope everyone else is doing okay? Xx

suz2285 · 30/08/2023 20:49

@Brokenpancreas94 you're having a time of it aren't you! Hope it settles down soon 🤞🤞

tulipsunday · 31/08/2023 07:02

@Brokenpancreas94 ah that is rubbish. Still got a bit of sciatica which is annoying but thankfully coming and going rather than constant. Not long till your scan which will hopefully give you a bit of a boost. I was feeling pretty drained this week looking after my son glad he is back to nursery on Monday. My husband helpfully reminded me I will have two of them to deal with next summer.. yikes 😂

suz2285 · 31/08/2023 08:58

@tulipsunday ah husbands are so helpful aren't they 😂 well I'm back to work today after 2 days off so that's a shock, already can't be bothered but I need to sort out the whole of next year in the next few months! Fun times... of course I've come in to a few emails of people whining about various things so that's just grand! It's always the same people as well isn't it!

Also had to bring in so many snacks and food to get me through the day cos I do not want to be hungry as well! Luckily I'm only in today then working from home tomorrow then the weekend! Need to also sort out my holidays and mat leave!

Brokenpancreas94 · 31/08/2023 10:55

@suz2285 you mean 2 weeks off? Haha 😉

@tulipsunday I'm just feeling sorry for myself ha! Yes I can't wait for the scan next week! Hoping that helps me feel a bit better! Had bloods done to check my liver for the hives, they suspected it could have been the antibiotics but I've stopped them now and arms and boobs were literally covered this morning 😞 honestly never thought I'd have to experience them again!
Back is slightly better today but not great 🤦🏼‍♀️

Partners are great aren't they 😂😂😂 people do say 2 is easier than 1 though as they keep each other company 🤷‍♀️ I guess we shall see haha

suz2285 · 31/08/2023 15:53

@Brokenpancreas94 haha yes 2 weeks, apparently I left my brain on holiday 😂😂

God I've been researching car seats and travel systems today, what an absolute minefield! You need a degree to decide this stuff!!

sweetpotato29 · 31/08/2023 16:01

Hey all, thought I would come back to update... I had the scan today and was so so nervous! But there is a little baby there 😭❤️ measuring 7 weeks and 1 day (which is bang on our predicted timings) and a little flickering heartbeat.

Completely different experience to my first scan where we were blindsided with the devastating news. I can't believe it.

Now I'm worried that something is going to go wrong...! I might book another scan in 2 weeks to break up the 5 week wait till the 12 week one?

J2023xx · 31/08/2023 16:59

@sweetpotato29 thats lovely news 💖

100% if you think another scan is helpful for you then do it. I have my dating scan on Tuesday but last Saturday had a scan when 11+1, just needed that reassurance until the NHS one x

suz2285 · 31/08/2023 17:15

@sweetpotato29 yey that's such good news! I had a scan at 6.5 and another at 9 weeks before my 12 weeks scan, it def helped the nerves I think! Then I had one at 16 weeks between the 12 and 20 week scan! 😂 I think if it helps just do it!

tulipsunday · 31/08/2023 17:18

So good to hear positive scan news @sweetpotato29 and @J2023xx

@Brokenpancreas94 Hopefully they will get to the bottom of the hives so you can get some relief. Ha yes let's hope the kids entertain each other so used to being my son's only playmate at home can't wait till they can run around together.

@suz2285 oh god I know what you mean about emails. My work goes quieter in the summer then September is usually manic so just waiting for the email onslaught

Brokenpancreas94 · 31/08/2023 19:30

@tulipsunday I hope so! The Fexofenadine that I have been taking doesn't seem to be working as well now 🤦🏼‍♀️
By the time my baby is old enough to be running around, daughter will probably be too old to want to play 😂. It's so exciting to see what the sibling bond will be like though!

@sweetpotato29 glad your scan went well today! I hadn't booked any private scans but if I could then I probably would have done too! Xx

sweetpotato29 · 01/09/2023 07:36

Thanks all! Yes I think I will book another just for peace of mind.

About a week or so before I found out I was pregnant we were visiting friends and I had quite a lot to drink! Like shots & everything so I'm feeling so guilty and worried that it will have done something bad to the baby.

suz2285 · 01/09/2023 10:59

@sweetpotato29 I'm sure the drinking thing is super common! I was worried cos I went to a float tank thing when I was literally just pregnant, it says it was safe but I got really hot lying in the water and then panicked about it for ages, but seems all ok so far so 🤞 loads of people drink before they know they're pregnant with no issues as well... I'm sure people drink though their pregnancies as well! 😂 crazy!

WhiteHorse92 · 01/09/2023 15:59

Congrats to those with positive scans! Had my 20 week scan today, all looking good and the sonographer also agreed it's a girl so I think we're convinced now and can just focus on picking a girl's name 😅. Turns out I do have an anterior placenta as well so I'm quite surprised Ive been able to feel the baby move since 15/16 weeks 😅

tulipsunday · 01/09/2023 17:23

@WhiteHorse92 fab news that's exciting to pick names 💖 same - also anterior placenta but felt movement since early on. Think easier to spot it when you know what it feels like

OP posts:
suz2285 · 01/09/2023 17:26

@WhiteHorse92 great news 💖

Brokenpancreas94 · 01/09/2023 17:39

@WhiteHorse92 yay! Great news! I had anterior last time and felt movements around the same time as you, earlier than this time I think! ❤️

tulipsunday · 04/09/2023 11:45

Seriously think pregnancy clumsiness is a thing. Just dropped and smashed a plate 🤦‍♀️ ffs 😂

OP posts:
Brokenpancreas94 · 04/09/2023 11:58

@tulipsunday oh no! But you're not alone 😂 I apparently can't cook since I've become pregnant 😂 partner's words not mine 😂
