@ChloeN yeah unfortunately the quad is stand alone so they don't know the NT measurement so it won't factor in at all but I think overall it makes the risk way lower but whether the results will see that who knows...

It's just such an anxious wait! I'm glad we got one NT measurement tho so I know that's fine but I really wish we'd just been able to have the normal testing 🙈

ChloeN · 26/07/2023 12:29

@suz2285 oh yeah I forgot the NT was at the 12 week scan rather than the later one! Me too, I found it so fustrating that you don’t get the full thing, and they just say oh wait till 20 weeks we can check then for the others??

suz2285 · 26/07/2023 12:52

@ChloeN yeah for sure like oh yeah just carry on and not worry for another 8 weeks 😂🙈 I'm almost wishing I didn't bother doing the quad now! Eugh

tulipsunday · 26/07/2023 14:29

@suz2285 hope you hear back soon such a pain having to wait but hopefully means nothing to worry about x

Have been avoiding the thread as too anxious and busy to be ready to read about pregnancy really, but had a nice midwife appointment and finally heard the heartbeat! Still 3 weeks to the next scan so it was a real relief.

I hope everyone else is holding up ok xx

Ladyinpink1 · 26/07/2023 15:34

@suz2285 Ooh your dh is a rascal lol. Would he tease you about it of he knows and you don't?
With our first I wanted to keep it a surprise until birth and dh said he would get the sonographer to check then get me to leave the room and find out lol. And he would of teased me about it until the birth and so I gave in and found out and missed my surprise! x
So a surprise will be really lovely x @ChloeN

Glad all went well with your appointment @divine x

suz2285 · 26/07/2023 15:41

@tulipsunday @ChloeN so i called the screening team this afternoon and she says my results are published, and that im low risk, so that's fab, though when i asked her the exact results i.e. measurements of the hormones they tested she only told me one which is not reassuring! Since it's 4 (quad test) so i dunno, she took ages to understand what I was asking. But she said it's been published to badger notes - which I can't see - mine still says not published! So i've had to email my midwife to check, apparently i'll get a letter too but she doesnt know when.... honestly why is it such a pain!! Did you guys get your levels back i.e. HCG = 1 MoM or whatever or am i unusual for asking?! She's not filling me with confidence!

@Ladyinpink1 no i don't think he'll tease me, he knows I want to wait but I did ask him not to! because if he does i'll just be annoyed at him. He says he wants to know in advance to give him time to look at names, which he's really struggling with so we shall see... i'm the same as you though I said well we might as well just both find out on Sunday then, but he said he knows I wanted it to be a surprise with my parents, so I don't think he'll tell me!

ChloeN · 26/07/2023 15:49

@suz2285 I literally just got a letter saying low risk, 1 in so many thousand I can’t actually remember what it was now!

suz2285 · 26/07/2023 15:51

@ChloeN yeah I'm wondering if I'll even get the actual results or if people just expect the 1 in whatever... she said 1 in 5000 which is the lowest they can give for the quad

So assuming she knows what she's saying and I'd hope so since she's the screening team then hopefully all good! 😂

tulipsunday · 26/07/2023 16:30

@WitcheryDivine that's great you heard the heartbeat. I heard baby's heartbeat at my 16wk appointment which was nice and has helped to break up the long wait from 12-20wk scan.

@suz2285 that sounds a great low risk result phew one less thing to worry about hopefully xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 26/07/2023 17:31

I got my results today too and mine are low! 1 in 5000 too!

Had another scan booked the same week as my 20 week scan as well for some reason, 2 days apart!
@suz2285 yeah I don't think we actually get the actual results just the risk factor I think!

suz2285 · 26/07/2023 19:59

@Brokenpancreas94 @tulipsunday @ChloeN just got an email from midwife confirming 1 in 5000 low risk results! Omg I'm so happy, never imagined it would be that low 🥳

Scan on Sunday and then try to chill a bit 😂😂😂 until the next thing!!

ChloeN · 26/07/2023 20:15

@Brokenpancreas94 @suz2285 ahh amazing news for you both🥰🥰 so pleased that you both got low risk! Xx

Had my first sweep today, cervix was posterior and medium firmness (think that’s what it’s called🤣) but I was 1cm which I was surprised about! Thought I was going to be 0cm so I’m glad my body has started to do something 😂

suz2285 · 26/07/2023 20:19

@ChloeN eeee that's so exciting!! How are you feeling??

ChloeN · 26/07/2023 20:43

@suz2285 I’ve had a couple of tightenings with back pain since but nothing other than that! In general I do feel quite good still, I’ve got lots to keep me busy over the next week so hopefully that helps the days fly by🤣

Brokenpancreas94 · 26/07/2023 20:49

@ChloeN ahhh how exciting!! He/she will be here before you know it! Xx

Ladyinpink1 · 27/07/2023 06:29

@ChloeN very exciting time, really won't be long now either way. Keep us updated on everything 🙂 x

tulipsunday · 27/07/2023 06:58

@ChloeN oh that's good! Hopefully you won't be waiting too long then. Exciting times. Hope the sweep itself wasn't too bad.

Meeting · 27/07/2023 07:32

Good morning all, sorry I haven't checked in with this thread for a while. I was finding that any worry or anxiety someone mentioned, I would take on as my own!

Anyway I'm officially 12 weeks today and could cry with joy! I have had this milestone in my head for so long and to finally make it here feels surreal x

ChloeN · 27/07/2023 07:43

@tulipsunday nowhere near as bad as expected, I’d watched a tiktok before I went of someone making them stop because it was so painful so I was expecting the worst 🤣🤣

@Brokenpancreas94 @Ladyinpink1 thanks ladies! I lost a bit of my plug/bloody show (not sure what the difference is really🤣) last night so even if it doesn’t put me into labour im happy it’s done something!

@Meeting I think getting through those 12 weeks is such a good feeling, it feels like forever away at the start doesn’t it!

tulipsunday · 27/07/2023 08:21

@ChloeN oh that's good. I found my two sweeps sooo uncomfortable but think that was because my body wasn't ready at all at 40/41 weeks (I didn't go into labour naturally until the morning of 42 weeks). Definitely sounds promising like you won't be waiting too long! Eek! Xx

OP posts:
suz2285 · 27/07/2023 08:23

@Meeting congrats! We all know that feeling, I was literally just saying to husband without the internet you wouldn't be aware of any bad stuff really 😂 such a big pool of people to pull all the anxieties from! When's your 12 week scan??

@ChloeN that's funny about the tik tok! Stay away 😂 it's funny tho my feeds are all full of pregnancy stuff you can't get away from it! The girl in the office across from me is further along and she was telling me about her anti-d injection and she said it was so sore she cried and now she's terrified about labour 😂 I know I also have to have that injection so I'll see how it is when I get it! I have only cried from pain maybe a couple of times in my life so we shall see! Maybe it was just hormones rather than pain for her!

tulipsunday · 27/07/2023 08:24

Had my bloods taken yesterday to see what baby's blood type is and whether I need anti d injections like last time. Would be nice if not but not a big deal. Had the appointment at home which was nice. My son was around and bouncing off the walls a bit 😂 but after my blood test he said he was proud of me lol 🥰 got to take him for his injections next week so hopefully this was good preparation!

OP posts:
tulipsunday · 27/07/2023 08:26

Ha I posted before I saw your response. Anti d injection was fine last time don't remember it being bad at all. The sweeps on the other hand 😭 Just goes to show all have different experiences! Xx

OP posts:
suz2285 · 27/07/2023 08:30

@tulipsunday it's weird cos here I don't think they even check babies blood type, if you're -ve you just get the injection! I'm pretty sure that's what it is as I looked it up ages ago, but I've heard of people having the babies blood tested! Interesting!
