@suz2285 it's crazy, I found that the more I know the more I worry! My 12 week scan it's next weds I can't wait to see baby again. I had a scan last week at 10+6 and really wanted another one this week but had to tell myself I don't need 3 scans in under 2 weeks lol!

suz2285 · 27/07/2023 08:37

@Meeting I'm with you on the Scans! I've had 6.5 weeks , 10 weeks, my 12 week scan and I've got a 16 week one this Sunday, and another at 18 and a bit then my 20 week scan 😂😂

How the heck else do you know what is going on!! It's really good we're able to though imagine what it used to be like with zero scans or tests! You just assumed all was fine, blows my tiny anxiety ridden mind 😂🙈

tulipsunday · 27/07/2023 08:47

Good luck with your scans @Meeting and @suz2285 4 weeks till my 20wk which feels like ages!

@suz2285 omg people told me the same but I didn’t even think it hurt, and I absolutely hate needles!🤣

@tulipsunday its weird isn’t it, im a right wimp and I do find stuff so painful so I was surprised when I didn’t! I guess it also depends if you get someone whose a bit rough doing it?
I was hoping mine would be negative blood like me but nope🥲 oh well🤣

Brokenpancreas94 · 27/07/2023 13:24

Just got my screening results via the post, all good! So different from my first pregnancy it actually included a report of all the numbers etc! And my due date has changed...again!! 22nd January now 😂 so I'm 14+3 now hooray! 😂

ChloeN · 27/07/2023 15:44

@Brokenpancreas94 ooo how many days forward did you move? X

Brokenpancreas94 · 27/07/2023 16:23

@ChloeN so my due dates have gone from 19th January to 26th January to 22nd January now, it's so confusing, because at the scan they said they wouldn't change my dates and they wrote on the NT form 13+2 but then the dr scribbled it out and put 12+5 but then today the results say 13+2, mind boggling 😂xx

Ladyinpink1 · 27/07/2023 17:28

Woohoo 🙂 @Meeting for reaching the 12 weeks mark, it's also a personal milestone for me after my first early scan... which is tomorrow! I'm sure Wed will come around fast x

@suz2285 lol at all of your scans, you are just right, nothing wrong with extra reassurance. If I could afford it I would have one a week, maybe even 2 a week 🤣 x

@ChloeN that's great that your plug is coming away only after your first sweep, hopefully baby will follow within the next week 🙂 are you more uncomfortable now that things are moving a little? x

I feel sick everytime I think about the scan, I'm going in on my own while dh waits in the car with the other 2. Not sure what news I will come back with but i'm hoping so so much it's good news.

Ladyinpink1 · 27/07/2023 17:31

@tulipsunday That was really good that they came to your house, so sweet that he was proud of his mummy 🥰 x

@Brokenpancreas94 Great news on the results. I'm not really sure what they are because I have never had them done before to my knowledge, unless they were done and it wasn't mentioned. But I get the gist that it means low risk for abnormalities is that right?

Also, what are badger notes? 🙈 is this a new thing or am I just way behind the times 🤣 x

Ladyinpink1 · 27/07/2023 17:34

@Brokenpancreas94 What I mean is, I know they screened for some general things at the booking in appointments but I never had got numbers back or letters confirming anything, it seemed to be left that if there were any issues, they would contact us if that makes sense x

Brokenpancreas94 · 27/07/2023 17:35

@Ladyinpink1 it's the screening test for Down's syndrome and Edwards, it's an optional screening done at the 12 week scan.

Badger notes, is online/electrical pregnancy notes, instead of paper notes. The whole of the UK is apparently changing to it by the end of the year, but @suz2285 can tell you it's a bloody nightmare 😂xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 27/07/2023 17:37

@Ladyinpink1 with both of my pregnancies I've received a letter telling me of the risk, with my daughter it was just a short letter saying I was low risk, and this time it was a letter with a report of the findings but stating I was low risk again. Xx

Ladyinpink1 · 27/07/2023 17:44

Ok, I have Googled it and read about the tests and where I live it's not offered in pregnancy as standard, if you want it done then you pay privately for the tests. @Brokenpancreas94

Oh no, it doesn't sound great, I way prefer paper too 🙂. Hopefully your due date stays the same from now then... and they don't change it again at the scan lol x

suz2285 · 27/07/2023 17:45

@Ladyinpink1 you sound so chill, I've been sitting by my phone winding myself up for a week waiting to see if there was any issues from the bloods they took! Hahah 😂 they usually take bloods at the 12 week scan for any chromosome issues (the 3 main ones anyway) and you should always be told the results! But like you said if it's not high risk they don't let you know... some peoples midwives tell them at other appointments, and you can opt out of any testing too

I'm on BadgerNotes too that's the new electronic pregnancy notes app but it's pretty crap tbh! The midwives need to manually publish the results to your app and they just don't! I've been told my recent results are in there but they're not and no one knows why I can't see them 😂 but I've had to chase twice already for things to be uploaded!

I'm still waiting for my letter confirming my results that are meant to be visible on badger 😂

Ladyinpink1 · 27/07/2023 19:26

Ha ha Oh no i'm not chill at all, i'm only just over 8 weeks not had my booking in appointment or anything yet for this pregnancy, I meant with my 2 dc that I already have at their appointment I didn't remember specific tests but when I researched it, it's not standard practice where I live so I have never had a chromosomal test before, just as well because as you said we have enough to worry about in pregnancy without that.

How frustrating especially if it's not being updated, why do they always change things that worked fine before!

Brokenpancreas94 · 27/07/2023 19:52

@Ladyinpink1 yeah Badger is bloody useless! My booking in blood results aren't on mine either, it's just a nightmare!
@ChloeN you're on badger too aren't you? Xx

WhiteHorse92 · 27/07/2023 20:06

9 days until my next scan and I'm starting to feel nervous. I felt so relieved after my 12 week scan but the relief only ever seems short lived. Still end up worrying that even though everything seems okay something will be wrong at the next scan. I think that small amount of blood I lost on Saturday has put me on edge a bit, even though everything has been absolutely fine since then. At least further along in the pregnancy you can feel the baby move so you know the baby is okay but there's just no way of checking in at this stage 😔

ChloeN · 27/07/2023 20:15

@Brokenpancreas94 yep, it’s getting worse I had an appt yesterday and it’s not been updated at all lol🤣🤣

@Ladyinpink1 I’ve had loads of tightening and back pain but I have no idea if it’s just false Labour! The midwife didn’t seem convinced the sweep would do anything at all lol 🤣🤣

@WhiteHorse92 how many weeks will you be at your scan? Xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 27/07/2023 20:15

@WhiteHorse92 it's so hard isn't it! My blood sugars are running high the last couple of days don't know why, and struggling to get them down so that's making me nervous too!

Brokenpancreas94 · 27/07/2023 20:16

@ChloeN mine take a couple of days after appointments but even then it's so vague, whereas with the paper notes they used to write loads! Xx

WhiteHorse92 · 27/07/2023 20:21

@ChloeN I'll be 16+1 next Saturday, it's just a private one to find out the sex of the baby. Just wish I could feel the baby move or something, I didn't feel anything until 16/17 weeks in my first pregnancy though so probably not likely before scan.

Brokenpancreas94 · 27/07/2023 20:33

@WhiteHorse92 is your placenta anterior or posterior this time?

WhiteHorse92 · 28/07/2023 00:12

@Brokenpancreas94 no idea, they didn't mention it at the 12 week scan and I didn't ask 😅. I think on one of my scan photos you can see the placenta and after a bit of research on Google it looks anterior as it's at the top of the image (if that is indeed the placenta I'm seeing). I had posterior with my son and the placenta is very obviously at the bottom of the image on the 16 and 20 week scan photos, so think maybe it is anterior this time, but what I'm looking at on my 12 week scan photo could be something else 😂. Guess I'll find out next week!

Hankthehonk · 28/07/2023 07:44

@Brokenpancreas94 @ChloeN I'm with you being frustrated by badger notes! I had my booking appointment weeks ago but looks like the midwife hasn't saved it on badger so all I can see is the pre booking form saying incomplete even though I've done it. Bloods were taken over two weeks ago but not even showing as being done let alone results. In my last pregnancy I could see the results on there.
I can only assume the midwives hate the app too!

Brokenpancreas94 · 28/07/2023 09:14

@WhiteHorse92 yeah I can't see the placenta on mine well I've no idea where to look but according to the report it's posterior this time, whereas with my daughter it was anterior and I didn't feel anything till atleast 20 weeks I think it was!

@Hankthehonk it's all just a load of rubbish isn't it 😂🤦🏼‍♀️ bring back good old paper!!
