@Ladyinpink1 how many weeks will you be?🥰

Elphamouche · 25/07/2023 00:11

Hey all. I had a MMC found at my 12 week scan in April. (My sisters birthday of all days!). Sadly I’d had bleeding weeks 6-9 but all 3 early scans showed baby doing well. I was still throwing up until my surgery, so full symptoms for me until after the surgery.

This week we’ve found out we are expecting again. Mostly I’m calm, we’re happy but not excited just in case.

I’m bloody exhausted 😂 but I think I’m about 5 weeks. Boobs aren’t sore at all this time which is nice as I could have happily chopped them off last time.

good luck to everyone, I hope all our rainbow babies are here to stay. Xx

Mangotango39 · 25/07/2023 05:44

@Elphamouche I am so sorry this happened to you but happy you have conceived again! How exciting! Will you be doing other early scans?

Can I ask if you don't mind sharing re your mmc did they say at what point growth had stopped? When were your 3 scans prior?
I have had two scans that all looked good so far and have another in 2 weeks when I'll be (almost) 13 weeks .

I have had very very light spotting a few times a week since implantation but they couldn't find any reason at all for this and cervix looked fine x

Ladyinpink1 · 25/07/2023 06:54

Hi @ChloeN I will be 8w+3d on Friday. How far are you now? Any change in the chest area yet? 😄 I feel like mine may have grown a tiny bit if i look a certain way, but most probably wishful thinking lol. x

Hi @Elphamouche congratulations and also I'm sorry for your loss, it must of been even harder after the reassurance from the early scans. x

suz2285 · 25/07/2023 07:51

@Ladyinpink1 you should be fine for external scan at over 8 weeks, I had one at 6.5 and 9 and both were external and both clear- though I think the private scan places the scan isn't as good quality but certainly good enough to see!

Jealous of those with the tiny boobs, mine have a mind of their own right now they're so weird 😂😂

@Elphamouche welcome and everything crossed for you 🤞🤞

tulipsunday · 25/07/2023 08:22

@Elphamouche congratulations and welcome 😊 @Ladyinpink1 that's great you managed to get an external scan booked and hopefully will provide some reassurance.

ChloeN · 25/07/2023 08:51

@Ladyinpink1 my external at 10 weeks was really clear so I think you should be fine at 8 weeks!🥰 I’m 39 weeks so I think the pregnancy boobs ship has officially sailed, I’ll have to wait to see if they grow when the baby arrives🤣

@suz2285 I was expecting giant melons but they’re just not, I had bigger boobs when I was 14 I swear 🤣

Ladyinpink1 · 25/07/2023 09:11

Good to know @suz2285 thanks. Ha ha, a mind of their own... you are jealous and so are we wanting bigger ones, they do say you always want what you don't have don't they. x

I hope so @tulipsunday , not long to find out. Hope you are feeling a bit better today x

@ChloeN Great, thanks. They will definitely grow once your milk arrives. Woah you really don't have long to wait now! How have you been feeling? The end is so hard, I remember reading this meme ⬇️ at the end with mine and thinking how true it was 😁 A summer baby will be lovely to get out for walks etc in the nice weather x

@ChloeN so close! Any signs??

ChloeN · 25/07/2023 09:41

@Ladyinpink1 I’ve been okay! The last few weeks have gone so fast but I think now it’s right at the end the days will probably drag🤣 yes im
hoping it’s nice and sunny once they arrive!

@tulipsunday thank you🥰

@suz2285 none at all 🥲🥲 I suppose that’s normal lol, I hope I’m one of the lucky people who have no signs and it just happens🤣

suz2285 · 25/07/2023 09:56

@ChloeN so excited for you!! Did I ask if you knew the gender? Hope it all goes ok for you when it happens!

Elphamouche · 25/07/2023 09:58

Hey @Mangotango39

I don’t want any early scans this time, unless something doesn’t feel right. Personally for me they weren’t any reassurance.

I had a relatively heavy bleed at 7 weeks, final EPU scan done at 7+3 and baby was fine. We both saw baby and heart beat, we had a scan picture to take home and midwives, sonographer were happy. Baby stopped growing at 8 weeks. Had no further bleeding but all the normal pregnancy symptoms carried on.

So unless I have any bleeding or pain, I’m not going to bother this time. At the time they helped reassure me, looking back now, I know it would only reassure me on the day, and nothing else because I had absolutely no symptoms of MC.

I got the dates wrong above, I bled from 5-8 weeks. Mostly just spotting apart from that one at 7 weeks. Then 7-8 weeks was the lightest spotting/brown that they said was clearing up from the 7 week bleed.

we think I’m 5+5 again now. So if we get to the weekend without bleeding I’m 1 step ahead. Trying to take it in really small chunks this time.

Light spotting can be normal for some, heavier bleeds can happen and baby be fine for some too. Think that’s why it’s so hard to know what’s right and what’s wrong!

@tulipsunday Thank you!!

@Ladyinpink1 thank you!! Yep the reassurance scans mean nothing now 😂

@suz2285 thank you!!

ChloeN · 26/07/2023 08:42

@suz2285 no we don’t know what we’re having, decided to have a surpise! X

suz2285 · 26/07/2023 08:46

@ChloeN ahh so exciting! I def do not have that much control to wait to find out 😂😂

ChloeN · 26/07/2023 08:57

@suz2285 to be fair I did think I’d give in🤣 but I said from the start I wouldn’t so I’d of been annoyed with myself if I did😂

suz2285 · 26/07/2023 08:59

Haha @ChloeN oh I'd totally be the same! We're having a scan on Sunday and we were gonna get them to write down the gender as a surprise so we could find out with my folks in a few weeks! Now husband is saying he's gonna look after the scan but now he's gonna know weeks before me!!! 😂 if I can wait that long! But I wanted it to be a surprise when I was with my folks so I think I'll try and hang on!!

tulipsunday · 26/07/2023 09:21

Haha do you think he will manage to not give it away if he looks @suz2285 not sure I could trust my husband not to say he/she

ChloeN · 26/07/2023 09:41

@suz2285 @tulipsunday same lol my partner would defo slip up🤣🤣 how many weeks have you got to wait🙈

suz2285 · 26/07/2023 09:51

@tulipsunday @ChloeN he says if I don't ask he won't 😂 erm it's about 2.5 weeks from the scan till we see my folks! So a while 😂

@ChloeN did you say you'd had the quad screen? I'm in mega anxiety mode waiting for the phone to ring or not! I had mine a week ago and I called the hosp today to check if there was any results and they said it could take 2-3 weeks! So I dunno if it's even tested yet 🤷‍♀️ she gave me the number for the screening midwife to call this afternoon to see if she had any further updates but jeez that seems a very long time I'm an anxious mess!!!

ChloeN · 26/07/2023 10:53

@suz2285 i bet that’ll be the longest 2.5 weeks ever 🙈 do you have a feeling either way? Yeah I had the quad screening! You think it would be quick wouldn’t you, but I guess not hearing for a week is good news??

suz2285 · 26/07/2023 10:57

@ChloeN well everything I've read online seems to suggest max 5 days if it's bad news but god knows! I've got a number for the screening midwife to try calling after lunch!

God I know, will see if I can wait! 😂 it's less annoying waiting for that than it is for this quad test! I'm so nervous of it coming back high risk and having more unknowns!

ChloeN · 26/07/2023 11:26

@suz2285 I hate waiting, and I always think knowing my luck the bloody letter will get lost in the post or something🥲 hopefully it’ll come back really low! How old are you? I do see people say that can increase the risk even if there’s no other reasons for it

suz2285 · 26/07/2023 11:29

@ChloeN I'm 38 which is mostly why I'm worried, the NT was normal on my scan but I know my risk is already higher I just don't know how high the baseline is for my age and there's nothing on google that explains but it does say 1 in 10 chance of a false positive at my age which is why I'm on high alert!

It's hard to just go about the day as normal
When I just want to know, I know it's not diagnostic but it feels like I'm waiting for something to be wrong again...

ChloeN · 26/07/2023 12:09

@suz2285 oh god I get your worries! At least with the low NT your risk must be quite low🤞🏻 I hope you hear soon xx
