@Brokenpancreas94 your scan is on my birthday🤣

Brokenpancreas94 · 20/07/2023 13:43

@ChloeN ooo is it! 😂

suz2285 · 20/07/2023 13:57

@WhiteHorse92 yes I'm having a private gender scan at 18 weeks with my family 😂

Ladyinpink1 · 20/07/2023 14:45

Congratulations @Brokenpancreas94 and @HopeAndStrength they are such clear scans! Glad all is well with you both. 🙂

Ladyinpink1 · 20/07/2023 14:56

Has anyone not had nausea or sickness and all been well?

I had some nausea the other week but turns out it was just because I was on antibiotics for my tooth as it stopped when I finished them.

I had nausea with dc1 and dc2 but no nausea (or any other symptoms) with my pregnancy that ended in December. It really is such a different experience to be pregnant after a loss, isn't it, I was so relaxed and carefree the first 2 times

Banbi · 20/07/2023 17:10

Bad news at today's scan unfortunately. The baby grew significantly since my previous scan, but no heartbeat. Good luck to everyone here - going to take some time away from the boards x

tulipsunday · 20/07/2023 17:51

@Banbi so sorry sending love.

@Ladyinpink1 Yes my first pregnancy I didn't have any nausea and all was well. Also know friends and family who didn't have any (including my grandma who had twins!) so hopefully that provides some reassurance x

Ladyinpink1 · 20/07/2023 17:57

I'm really so sorry @Banbi I feel so sad anytime I read this, but on this thread especially where everyone has already had heartache 💗 xxx

Ladyinpink1 · 20/07/2023 18:02

@tulipsunday thank you for your response, so you had no nausea last time but nausea this time? What I mean is both pregnancy's have been different?

That's what's worrying me because I did have it with first 2 dc, both pregnancy's were very similar.. so I feel this should be the same...
maybe this is a just a different pregnancy. x

Brokenpancreas94 · 20/07/2023 18:02

@Ladyinpink1 yes same with my first pregnancy with my daughter I had no nausea or sickness either, and all was well xx

@Banbi so sorry, sending you lots of love xxx

Brokenpancreas94 · 20/07/2023 18:04

@Ladyinpink1 all 3 of my pregnancies have been different, my first with my daughter I had no nausea was fine. My second (miscarriage pregnancy) I had really bad nausea and vomited a few times. This current pregnancy I've had nausea but nowhere near as bad as in my last one, this time it's more if I don't eat enough.
Each pregnancy can be different each time though, although that doesn't help our anxieties xx

Hankthehonk · 20/07/2023 18:12

So sorry to read Banbi's update 😢

@WhiteHorse92 I will get a gender scan at 16 or 17 weeks, but won't book it until our 12 week scan goes OK. It's on 11 August. I am impatient to know what we are having and keen for more scans as milestones along the way.

tulipsunday · 20/07/2023 18:13

@Ladyinpink1 yep my first pregnancy which was healthy and resulted in my son I had no nausea (two miscarriages following that - now on fourth pregnancy). Lots of people I know have had quite different pregnancies in terms of symptoms and all has been well. I know hard not to worry though xx

Ladyinpink1 · 20/07/2023 18:30

Thank you@Brokenpancreas94 and @tulipsunday that makes sense, and yes it's good to read that, hopefully that is the case with me too. It's just a constant over thinking isn't it
You have had the unfortunate joy of experiencing it all ways then pancreas 🤢

Hope you guys are doing well and hitting your milestones 🙂 x

vvit · 21/07/2023 15:33

We had 10 week scan and everything looking good, and I promised my self to start to enjoy it and be less anxious after 10 weeks but I still feel so anxious, now I've set target 13 weeks but I probably will feel the same, thinking I will be less anxious but I won't 😭

Feeling so exhausted this week after our 3 year olds birthday week, I haven't felt nauseous but feel like I just don't want any food, cooking dinner has become a hard one as I don't fancy anything! Specially as vegan I feel like I really need to make sure I eat the right things but hard when you dont want food!

suz2285 · 21/07/2023 16:57

@vvit yeah it's hard and there's still lots to worry about after the 12 week scan though I do feel slightly more relaxed even tho I'm still waiting for tests at nearly 15 weeks now 😂 it's an anxious time for sure! I read a lot after my 9 week scan about heartbeat and the danger going down after that point, but it doesn't help until you actually know all is ok (for now anyway)

Totally with you on the dinner thing it seems like such a chore every day! I'm not vegan but I eat a fair bit of vegan food as I'm not massively fussed about meat so it's definitely harder to come up with meals and ones that are healthy too! Which is what I'm struggling with, been eating so many carby things I don't usually and I'm kinda off my usual salads and veg 😂

tulipsunday · 22/07/2023 07:00

Great news on the scan @vvit Same @suz2285 still want the carby foods I could live on pasta bake 😂 finding I am eating a bit more variety in second trimester but still feels a bit of effort to decide what to have for dinner.

OP posts:
suz2285 · 22/07/2023 07:29

@tulipsunday same! It's still a lot of effort but least it's more variety! My plan this weekend is to try and make some healthy ish snacks to put in the fridge to grab but I'm struggling to think of what tbh! I used to eat quite low carb before but im not loving the idea of a lot of those options tbh!

Pasta bake is usually my fav but now I'm eating more bread and stuff I'm not actually craving pasta bake quite as much, also cos I'm gluten free my bread is like £3.50 per small tiny loaf so it's more expensive if I eat loads of carbs 😂😂

WhiteHorse92 · 22/07/2023 08:23

14+1 today and I've woken up to some bleeding 😔. Not a lot, but it was there on the tissue after I went to the toilet about an hour ago. I've put a pad on just to monitor it, just seems to be a bit of spotting at the moment. It's not bright red, more of a light red/orange colour so not sure what that means. Really don't know what to do. I'm supposed to be at the hairdresser at half 11 for a long overdue cut and colour, not sure if to cancel it, whether to wait and see if it gets heavier, ring my maternity unit (although I've not even been given a number to ring if there's problems) or try and book a private scan or what. Not sure if I'm starting to feel slightly crampy in my hips as well, starting to feel worried now and my mind is racing 😔

suz2285 · 22/07/2023 08:42

@WhiteHorse92 sorry to hear that. Is it def from the front and not the back? Straining for the loo is a common issue and I've def had some bleeding after the toilet! 🙈

I'd say go to the hairdresser and see how it is after, but I dunno if I'd be able to relax, here we have maternity triage line who you call with issues or the early pregnancy unit they're up to 20 weeks I think. You can google for a local number - the note my midwife gave me has those numbers on it though

I'm sure it'll just be a tiny irritation or something but it's always worth going to get checked and they're really helpful

WhiteHorse92 · 22/07/2023 09:02

Yeah it's definitely from the front not the back 😅. I had a similar amount of bleeding a few weeks back before my 12 week scan although was dark brown so I knew it was probably just some old blood and wasn't worried. I've found a number to ring, it's the maternity advice line and it should put me straight through to a midwife. Think I'm going to see what happens in the next few hours, nothing more than the tiniest bit of orange spotting at the moment, if it starts changing colour or getting heavier I'll ring the maternity number after the hairdresser, if I need to go in, I'll pass the hospital on my way back anyway. It's not like I've got bright red blood or womb lining gushing out of me so think I've convinced myself for now that baby is fine 🤞

tulipsunday · 22/07/2023 09:46

@WhiteHorse92 I would do the same as you wait a few hours and see how things are. Think quite a few things can irritate the cervix so hopefully just that x

OP posts:
Brokenpancreas94 · 22/07/2023 09:48

@WhiteHorse92 sorry if tmi but have you had sex recently? Could be cervical irritation. It is such a scary worrying time. Hopefully all is okay though xx

suz2285 · 22/07/2023 09:53

@WhiteHorse92 sounds like it's nothing to worry about for now just keep an eye on it! Let us know how it is later 🤞

Mangotango39 · 22/07/2023 10:06

@WhiteHorse92 hope everything is ok. I am not as far as you (week 10) and I have had lots of bleeding and it's ranged pink, brown , red, orangey, across the 10 weeks. All been checked and all ok . Dr at EPU said bleeding can just happen to some of us with so much going on inside so it's definitely not always a bad sign . Hope you get some answers .

Why is it always the weekend when places are harder to contact 😑
