Hi everyone - been quiet for a bit, mainly due to life being mental but not touched base since 12 weeks (been reading and keeping up tho!)

Now 17 weeks and expecting what appears to be a live wire of a baby girl. Ecstatic but my the anxiety is still very much a factor of day to day life. Currently experiencing the aches and stretches of a newly forming bump but even then I’m like… is this normal! And to top it off I ended up with covid last week argh!

Also for anyone who is a greys anatomy fan, I kinda reacted like Meredith did to my first flutters 🙈 panic then the realisation this was amazing!

Sorry wee ramble but all the thoughts of the days/weeks - hope everyone is good 🩷

Mangotango39 · 18/07/2023 04:28

Hi all.
Just an update 🙏hoping gives hope to others.
Had my second scan today (9 + 4) with EPU due to all my spotting but everything was perfect. Baby had grew exactly how they should since the last scan and heart beat of 170bpm!
Checked my cervix and also looking good. No reason found for the spotting at all so been put as 'one of those things!'

Heard the heartbeat out loud which was lovely and could see baby kicking away!!!!
Feeling so relieved .

suz2285 · 18/07/2023 08:42

@Peachy3118 when did you bump start to arrive? I'm mid 14 weeks now and I'm just feeling fat but I feel like it's obvious I've put on a few lbs but nowhere near bump yet! People have said 16-17 weeks?!

So cool to feel baby move!!

@Mangotango39 great news! ❤️

tulipsunday · 18/07/2023 09:38

Aw little girl lovely @Peachy3118 💖

Glad all well at the scan @Mangotango39 good luck @Banbi for Thurs. Got another 5wks till 20wk scan hope it goes quickly!

@suz2285 first baby I had a little bump from yeh 16/17wks but could still conceal it pretty well at 20wks. This time showing earlier and have a bump that I think most who know me would notice at 15wks.

@tulipsunday oh good another 5 or so weeks of looking fat then 😂😂😂 my mum said she didn't notice a difference when she seen me at the weekend but I'm already overweight so it's prob less obvious and I just look a bit chubby! I feel chubby! Like my jeans aren't comfy anymore and my actual stomach feels like it's sticking out, but also been eating way more carbs so it could also be a bit of that 🙈 I've put on only a teeny bit of weight maybe 1lb -1.5lb so it's not like a huge difference but it feels like it!

J2023xx · 18/07/2023 12:21

I’ve just spoken to the EPU (because I have had two miscarriages they offered reassurance scans next time I’m pregnant). They’ve booked me in next Monday when I’ll be 6+1, I feel so nervous now, I thought it would be at least a couple of weeks.

Obviously I’m so grateful, but it’s super nerve wracking isn’t it.

Peachy3118 · 18/07/2023 12:47

@suz2285 literally during the week so after 16 weeks officially - I had been moaning I wasn’t showing and probably wouldn’t (I’m already plus size) and then woke up and she was there 🙈it’s a lot bigger at night after a day of work/food too lol!

suz2285 · 18/07/2023 12:54

@Peachy3118 yeah I can def feel my bump down low but I'm a size 14ish and the only obvious bit to me right now is my actual stomach, higher up under my boobs which suddenly looks much fatter! I assume cos everything is pushed up out of the way a bit! It's also harder than it was before! I'm gonna have to walk about sucking it In cos I could easily look very pregnant if I didn't!

But I have a lot of stomach issues (ibs) etc so this isn't new for me really but normally it's way flatter than this, and normally I'd watch what I was eating after it started sticking out but tbh I've eaten very little today and it's still doing it 😂😂

tulipsunday · 18/07/2023 14:19

@J2023xx good luck for that it is really nerve wracking. I have had 2 miscarriages but thankfully things seem to be going ok this time.

@Peachy3118 yes I still have the bigger bump in the evening and flatter in the morning can't remember when that settles out.

Switched washing detergents and now it doesn't make me feel nauseous. Today's pregnancy win 😂

suz2285 · 18/07/2023 15:37

@tulipsunday good news 😂 so funny that that was an issue cos it smells amazing usually! Pregnancy is so strange!

tulipsunday · 19/07/2023 14:19

@suz2285 it really is. Treated myself to some fruit pastilles as been craving them all week. Not something I can remember buying for years 😂

OP posts:
suz2285 · 19/07/2023 14:39

@tulipsunday omg I did the same! Havent had them in years and years!! But seen them and was like omg yea I'm having those! Boy they really get stuck in your teeth!

I was kinda off sweets and sugar in tri-1 but I'm back on them now! Trying to be better and not have them all the time 😂

Misspotterscat · 19/07/2023 17:49

I’ve had a few days of feeling confident in the pregnancy since my 12 week scan and now today I’m achy (back, hips and stomach) so back to stressing! I know it will be things stretching, but still doesn’t stop me panicking! Will this stress ever ease 😞

Brokenpancreas94 · 19/07/2023 17:53

Just had my NT scan again...successful this time! All good, baby seems happy and was moving about a lot 🥰

@Misspotterscat baby is growing that's all good signs 👌

@Brokenpancreas94 woop! Yey for healthy active baby ❤️

WitcheryDivine · 19/07/2023 18:53

Nice to read @suz2285 about your tummy shape. My "upper tummy" has been sticking out a lot more, which is obviously the "wrong" place and feels weird. Still no bump and I'm very much in two (anxious) minds about whether my "lower tummy" has got any bigger or not, and if so is it just due to crisps.

HopeAndStrength · 19/07/2023 19:00

Lovely scan pics @Brokenpancreas94 - glad to hear it went well.

I had my 12 week scan today as well, measuring 12w5 and also very wriggly! It took a while to get all the measurements but it was such a relief to see it moving around in there.

suz2285 · 19/07/2023 19:22

@WitcheryDivine that's exactly the same as me, upper is sticking out which is obv not bump yet 😂 but I swear the lower being bigger is pushing the upper out, I can't see much difference in my lower tummy tbh!

@HopeAndStrength great news on your scan ❤️

tulipsunday · 19/07/2023 21:32

Oh lovely scan photos @HopeAndStrength and @Brokenpancreas94 makes me feel quite emotional seeing them knowing what we have all been through.

@suz2285 that's so funny what is it about fruit pastilles 😂

OP posts:
Mangotango39 · 19/07/2023 21:44

Loving the scan photos 😍so happy for you all!!
They look so big already at 12 weeks it's crazy how fast they grow in there!

Brokenpancreas94 · 20/07/2023 09:56

@tulipsunday it was quite emotional seeing it moving about on the screen, well moving away 😂 not cooperating they struggled at first to get measurements and then it laid out like the pictures for about 30 seconds and then was off again 😂. 20 week scan is booked for 8th September feels a life time away 😂

tulipsunday · 20/07/2023 11:00

Aw that's good they got the measurements in the end! Eek exciting to have the 20 week scan date. Mine is 24th Aug which also feels quite far away but hopefully will come round quickly. Shouldn't really wish away summer though!

OP posts:
suz2285 · 20/07/2023 11:41

@tulipsunday mines the 25th aug! So far away! Time has ground to a halt 😂 I can't be bothered with work or doing anything productive either, desperately in need of a holiday which I'm taking in a few weeks!

WhiteHorse92 · 20/07/2023 13:26

Is anyone here having a private scan early to find out the sex? My 20 week scan is on the 1st September but I've booked a private scan on the 5th August to hopefully find out what we're having ( I did the same with my son and knew I would inevitably do the same this time 😅).
