Welcome to all those who are pregnant following a miscarriage/s. A space where we can share our anxieties and our joys.

@Misspotterscat that is the exact time my symptoms started to ease. I'm 14 weeks now. Totally normal as the placenta takes over. I know it still messes with our head though.

When is your 12wk scan? hopefully that will provide a bit of reassurance x

@Misspotterscat this was exactly how I felt! I think it does get better after the 12 week scan... like @tulipsunday says... but I'm still anxious about various things, but it's definitely a milestone

I started to feel better around week 11 so I was worried too but when I went to my scan I was 6 days ahead so the placenta had obviously started doing it's job! It's a terrifying time, everything I read suggested if healthy at scans from 8+ weeks then all was likely to be fine but there's nothing you can do if you're an anxious person it just goes from one issue to another 🙈

My husband is the same with the whole 'everything will be fine' which doesn't help does it 😂 but he's right most likely it will all be fine 🤞🤞❤️

suz2285 · 12/07/2023 09:36

@ChloeN @Brokenpancreas94 @tulipsunday

I've been using these for a couple of years from Amazon Delimira Women's Wireless Bra... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0B1QBRKYD?ref=ppxpoppmobappshare

My boobs are already big and I've just sized up one cup size into a bigger one of these - they are actually supportive and more like a regular bra but comfy! And I tried a LOT 😂

Tbh I'm keen to stay away from buying 'pregnancy' clothes until i really need them
And then someone said when your milk comes in your boobs grow again so if that happens I'm gonna have trouble staying upright nevermind finding a bra!! 😂😂

Brokenpancreas94 · 12/07/2023 09:51

@suz2285 thank you! I will have a look at these, bloody bras are the bane of my life 😂😂

@tulipsunday I hope my symptoms settle soon, mine seem to have done the opposite and ramped back up instead of getting better 😂😬

vvit · 12/07/2023 10:17

@Misspotterscat Ah I get you, we all do! Nobody who haven't gone through this can understand what it feels like, it's nothing like a pregnancy before mcc.
I haven't really had many symptoms but had 2 good scans and I'm still worried every single day.

I think maybe set a target and from 12 weeks start to think it's such a little little chance comparing to 6 weeks ago for something bad to happen, and you allow yourself to breath, then set up a next target 16 weeks and say from then you will let yourself to start to enjoy being pregnant.
I would say when you start to feel baby moving you will feel more and more confident that everything is going ok. I know it's still weeks to go but it helps me if I set targets.
Take care xx

I'm finding this stage incredibly hard too @Misspotterscat - wondering whether to talk to the midwife about my anxiety but there's no point as they'll doubtless just tell me it's normal. But is it normal when it starts making you sad all the time?

Brokenpancreas94 · 12/07/2023 10:40

@WitcheryDivine I'd recommend talking to your midwife they might put you forward for counselling, they did for me in my last pregnancy and they also said to me this time if my mental health gets bad then to talk to them, because they can put us forward and we go to the top of the list! I also saw the perinatal team last time and a psychiatrist which I found was helpful, he was really nice!
I mean it won't get rid of our anxieties completely but it does help as such!

Misspotterscat · 12/07/2023 11:41

Thank you all for taking the time to read and reply.

@tulipsunday my 12 week scan is on Monday - it feels like an eternity away right now.
@suz2285 You’re right about it going from one issue to the next as as the 12 week scan gets nearer I’ve also started worrying about the results of the screening 🫣
@vvit I have 16 weeks in my head as a big target, and then I think after 20 weeks I will feel happier (baby will be getting some extra scans around then due to my own condition so I’m hoping that will add reassurance!) I look at people who I know who are further along than me and didn’t seem to be racked with worry and I feel so envious - but they haven’t experienced a loss.
@WitcheryDivine i think I will mention it to my midwife as I’m seeing her on Friday. I am expecting to be told it’s normal, but like you I feel really sad. I’m also snappy with DH because I’m so anxious and I feel like I’m stopping him from enjoying this time in our lives too, and that’s unfair. Also, this is very likely to be our only child. I just want to enjoy it more.

tulipsunday · 12/07/2023 15:15

All the best for Monday @Misspotterscat

my midwife encouraged me to contact her if feeling like I need support with my mental health so I think it generally encouraged my them and would recommend having a chat and seeing what they say.

@suz2285 thx will check those out

@Misspotterscat So sorry you are feeling so anxious, I am on google too much also. I don't have any words of wisdom because I am only 6 weeks experiencing my first post miscarriage pregnancy but all the tips from others sounded good, especially setting goals, I have done that at each week mark (only had 2 marks but it feels nice to reach that stage) also I think the fact that you have had good scans and strong heartbeat so far along is really good. Hope things ease for you a little after your next scan.

Very jealous of everyone talking about their increasing bra size, mine are small and never seem to grow much in pregnancy... I wish they would!

ChloeN · 12/07/2023 15:31

@Ladyinpink1 Mine haven’t actually grown either, only the nipples which I’m not sure is the best look but there you go🤣 Im thinking they might expand if I’m breastfeeding?🤣

suz2285 · 12/07/2023 17:37

@ChloeN when we told my folks about baby I said to mum my boobs had grown, and husband nicely told them all about how big my nipples are now 😂😂

And then I think my sister it was something along the lines of 'the size of digestive biscuits' 🙈

Lucky he doesn't say those things to his family! Mortified! 😂

Anyway after the first trimester they've settled down a bit for now 😂😂

ChloeN · 12/07/2023 21:19

@suz2285 hes really outed you there hasn’t he🤣🤣 lol your big old burger nips😭🤣

Ladyinpink1 · 12/07/2023 21:31

Lol @ChloeN Yes, few days after birth when your milk cones in they like triple in size, it's wonderful, bit sore, but still ... wonderful 🤣 x

@suz2285 glad to hear he hasn't told your in-laws the same thing 🤣 x

tulipsunday · 13/07/2023 12:10

@suz2285 haha that made me properly chuckle. What have I started with this bra chat 😂

OP posts:
Misspotterscat · 13/07/2023 20:40

Thank you @tulipsunday and @Ladyinpink1.

well, it seems each time I comment to anyone that my symptoms have disappeared they ramp up for a few days. I have felt terrible today and yesterday! Taking it as a good sign though!

on the bra chat…. Mine have already gone up a size and are now officially huge so I can’t even imagine what they’ll be like when/if I breast feed!

Brokenpancreas94 · 13/07/2023 22:46

@Misspotterscat same here! Just when I think I'm starting to feel better it ramps back up again, been on and off today but mostly feeling very sick! Almost feel like I'd rather just throw up and then maybe I'd feel better afterwards! 🤷‍♀️

WhiteHorse92 · 14/07/2023 08:26

Not really felt sick the last 3 days, just exhausted, so maybe it was the antibiotics making me feel sick? Now me and my partner are both full of cold with sore throat, I guess it's just one thing after another 😭

ChloeN · 14/07/2023 08:40

@WhiteHorse92 Ive got a sore throat too😫 it’s meant to be summer why do we have a cold🤣

Brokenpancreas94 · 14/07/2023 10:47

@WhiteHorse92 @ChloeN my daughter has a sore throat at the moment too! Think she is coming down with a cold! Hope I don't get it...no nausea today so far! And I'm 12 weeks today, woohoo! Although I should be 13 😂🤷‍♀️

ChloeN · 14/07/2023 12:28

@Brokenpancreas94 youve finally made it to 12 weeks🤣 longest 12 weeks ever 🙈

Brokenpancreas94 · 14/07/2023 12:38

@ChloeN my partner was like "yeah till you go for your scan and they put you back again" 😂😂😂😫😫

ChloeN · 14/07/2023 15:39

@Brokenpancreas94 🤣🤣🤣 he’s so supportive, bet you were like erm shut up 😂

Brokenpancreas94 · 14/07/2023 16:43

@ChloeN in a not so polite way 😂😂😂

suz2285 · 14/07/2023 16:56

@Brokenpancreas94 oh men 🙈😂 they sure know what to say! You def will be over 12 weeks this time 😂
