Spotting/bleeding 5-6 weeks - TW PICS!

Hi ladies,

I’m 30 and this is baby number 2, I’m around 5.5-6 weeks pregnant.

This morning I started with very pale brown tinged discharge when wiping (lighter than the ones shown in the photo) and this afternoon, it has increased slightly, somewhat more red and then the most red one in the photo is just now.

I rang EPU this morning and they said it’s probably implantation from where she embryo is moving even lower into the womb, but said to call back if it got worse, which I have and they’ve booked me in for a scan but not until next Tuesday.

I’m a mess and can’t stop checking and wiping and worrying.

Has anyone had similar experience?

The only pregnancy symptom I have was bloating (which I still have) and really sore nipples which have decreased in soreness over the last couple of days.

Any help welcomed 💗

I have been having odd spotting here and there. One wipe was probably like yours above yesterday then nothing after. One red dot today.

Everyone so far and all my frantic googling has told me not to worry unless it continues, gets heavier or experience cramping.
My scans next Thursday when I should be 7 weeks.

Let me know how you get on but sending best wishes. I understand it's just so scary seeing blood.

DHB · 19/06/2023 22:12

@BagelO Oh that’s at least good that yours isn’t getting worse, just such a long anxious wait until the scans isn’t it :( Fingers crossed for yours.

Unfortunately mine is still continuing the same as the most red blood in the photo, with every wipe too.

I’ll keep you posted, there’s nothing worse than frantically searching these posts and people never put final updates on x

Sorry you're going through this, it can be very scary. At approx 8 weeks pregnant, I felt blood trickling out of me, it was awful, there was a lot of blood, so I obviously thought the worst, but that baby is now a healthy 4 year old. The hospital said it was an implantation bleed. I hope everything works out ok for you.

Sunshineclouds11 · 19/06/2023 22:28

Are you in pain?

DHB · 20/06/2023 09:59

@WildNorthEast @Sunshineclouds11

Thanks both, it’s got heavier overnight and darker red, almost resembling a light-medium flow period.

I’ve got no pain and no clots so far. But I’m scared to move out of the bed.

Hi @DHB I'm in the exact same situation as you, I'm nearly 6 weeks aswell, yesterday morning had a slight pink only when i wiped then nothing throughout the day now again this morning more pink/ turning brown and I am panicking also I have another 2 weeks till my early scan is booked.

DHB · 20/06/2023 16:54

@Pippamorgan Sorry to hear that :( It’s a horrible time isn’t it.

The EPU initially said it was probably implantation bleeding from where the embryo is burying itself deeper into the womb but the bleeding got worse after that. It’s basically been full blown period all day today, had period cramps earlier too. I did two tests, both seem lighter than the last one I did prior to any bleeding and whilst I still had sore nipples and bloating.

Now it’s just the long wait for the scan :(

OP posts:
Pippamorgan · 20/06/2023 19:07

@DHB it has definitely been a roller coaster.

I'm sorry to hear that, my bloating and sore nipples have disappeared completely since yesterday and I just feel like my period is going to arrive any second, my tests are still the same at the moment but it's just trying to find some positive stories to hold onto that it will all be OK, I hope things get better for you xx

DHB · 21/06/2023 08:50

@Pippamorgan We’re more or less the same situation then really, it’s so horrible and especially with the scans still far away, clinging onto any piece of hope. My bleeding is still resembling a period type of bleeding and tiny bits of tissue (like you’d get in a period as well). My symptoms went I think a couple of days before the spotting started. My tests are still very much the same darkness but I know they can take a week or so to start getting lighter.

Hope you’re doing ok? It’s such worrying and confusing time. I’ve read sooooo many posts from people and this time of 5-6 weeks seems to be so common for bleeding to start x

@DHB it is a really stressful time isn't it. I woke up this morning and thought it had stopped but as the day going on its still the same. Mine still isn't red at all yet. I have read some positive and negative posts so just don't no what to believe I have had 8 misscarriages and one chemical and its just so draining, its so hard to try and keep positive.

DHB · 21/06/2023 15:58

@Pippamorgan It really is draining isn’t it, gosh I’m so sorry for all your losses :( That’s heart breaking for you.

Unfortunately mine is still very heavy and red and I’ve been getting some small clots today too. I’m so upset and now I just keep thinking, what if I just stopped drinking tea all together, or maybe it was the antihistamines before I found out, everything and anything.

@DHB sending you a virtual cuddle. I'm in the same boat, 5+4 today and started light pink when I wiped this morning, now progressed to bright red medium-heavy period. Called GP for EPU referral but they can't do it until early next week. Can't stop crying. Xxx

happydaysss · 21/06/2023 16:09

@Pippamorgan so sorry to read what you've already been through xx

DHB · 21/06/2023 16:13

@happydaysss Oh I’m so sorry :( Yes, the wait for the scan is so difficult isn’t it. I actually keep forgetting and find myself still holding my stomach (which admittedly is just pregnancy bloat, or was anyway) but it’s so upsetting.

Im finding so many people have their bleeds around this time too, although I keep also reading about SCH which also seem common at this stage, however for me, it’s the fact my pregnancy symptoms disappeared completely about two days prior to starting to spot.

What day did they book your scan for? X

OP posts:
happydaysss · 21/06/2023 16:18

SCH is something I've been reading about too but in reality I think I know what's happening 🥺 my doctor is due to phone me back in the next hour with an EPU scan date. Hope you're looking after yourself. My pregnancy symptoms disappeared too xx

DHB · 21/06/2023 16:22

@happydaysss Yes, I think I know which way this is going too sadly, but we cling onto any little piece of hope we can don’t we.

Oh ok, hopefully you don’t have to wait too long into the week. It’s so hard, I wish I could be scanned now but then obviously it would be too late to see anything even if there was something to see.

What symptoms did you have? X

OP posts:
happydaysss · 21/06/2023 17:01

@DHB I had sore breasts and bloating, tiny bit of nausea but not much, is that similar to you?

I just got a call back from GP and EPU said they can see me Friday morning but have warned me they might not be able to tell anything as it's so early, I'm just hoping they can tell me if it's a miscarriage or not. My bleeding/cramps have suddenly started to taper off (last 30 mins) but who knows if it'll ramp back up. Why is this so hard?! :(

mumtotwox · 21/06/2023 17:06

My heart is with you both ❤️

I did bleed a little later with my 2nd baby and thought the worst but it did end up being a SCH so hold on hope until you get checked.

I'll be thinking of you both x

Pippamorgan · 21/06/2023 17:53

@DHB @happydaysss oh I'm sorry to hear that, we always doubt things but rest assured its nothing you have done. Il be thinking of you and holding on for some hope for you. I think I no which way this is heading for me aswell I'm on progestrone pessaries so I think that is slightly preventing the inevitable of happening straight away. It's just the waiting to find anything out is so hard, my gp has said to ring back if it's red and heavier but at the moment it can be normal but it doesn't put your mind at rest does it xx

happydaysss · 21/06/2023 17:54

@Pippamorgan it really doesn't put your mind at rest at all. So sorry we're all experiencing this but it's comforted me this afternoon to chat to you all. Hugs! Xx

Pippamorgan · 21/06/2023 17:59

@happydaysss it has for me too, its been comforting that where not alone. This is my third round of ivf so has been a long process to actually get to this point. Thinking of you xx

DHB · 21/06/2023 20:53

@happydaysss Literally the same symptoms as you, minus the nausea. Although I now look about 6 months pregnant again today but other than that, nothing still. Still bleeding lots too so :(

Oh Friday is good though! At least you’ll know something! I will keep my fingers and toes crossed for you, I really hope it’s good news. Please keep us updated won’t you xx

@Pippamorgan I’m sorry to hear your story :( It sounds like an awfully long journey so I really hope it’s not what you think it is and the progesterone is helping whatever is going on inside! Xx

@mumtotwox That’s what I’ve been trying to convince myself could be happening with me, but I think deep down I know it’s over. I just think the bleeding is lasting too long, it’s too heavy and constant and the period type cramps I had and the small clotty bits, the die off of symptoms; there’s not much going for me really xx
