Hi ladies,

I’m 30 and this is baby number 2, I’m around 5.5-6 weeks pregnant.

This morning I started with very pale brown tinged discharge when wiping (lighter than the ones shown in the photo) and this afternoon, it has increased slightly, somewhat more red and then the most red one in the photo is just now.

I rang EPU this morning and they said it’s probably implantation from where she embryo is moving even lower into the womb, but said to call back if it got worse, which I have and they’ve booked me in for a scan but not until next Tuesday.

I’m a mess and can’t stop checking and wiping and worrying.

Has anyone had similar experience?

The only pregnancy symptom I have was bloating (which I still have) and really sore nipples which have decreased in soreness over the last couple of days.

Any help welcomed 💗

Thank you @DHB ♥️ I rang EPU again as this morning I'd been getting blood on a pad and also cramping (albeit lessened now) and as I thought, and like you said, they can't do anything and I just need to monitor until my scan next week when I would technically be 6+3. The midwife on the phone was lovely and said she likes to be optimistic that it could be the embryo just burying deeper but I don't know, I think I'm just a bit numb to it. It's so early as well that I'd just like to know and then like you, can try again!

I hope everything is ok with you tomorrow x

Pippamorgan · 26/06/2023 14:39

@DHB So I rang Epu this morning and they booked me in for an appointment 2 hours later. The bleeding stopped again this morning, so Happy to say its all good news so far and we seen a little heartbeat beating away.

I was so sure I was out all symptoms have gone still but I have been proved wrong just shows that 1% of little hope we have is still there. They can't find a cause for the bleeding but for now it's on the right track.

@plopss I also had bleeding pink then brown then stopped then appeared again for 4 days straight and now stopped again. Please stay hopeful I gave up all hope and thought my time was done but just seen a lovely little heartbeat on the screen this morning.

plopss · 26/06/2023 17:43

@Pippamorgan thank you so much for sharing this, and what a wonderful outcome for you, I'm so pleased! Fingers crossed the same happens for me x

DHB · 26/06/2023 18:06

@plopss Its a hard wait isn’t it :( But if they do it any earlier, they likely wouldn’t be able to see a heartbeat anyway. The lady I spoke to at first also said that the embryo buries deeper too, but then my bleeding changed after that :(

@Pippamorgan Oh my goodness that’s such lovely news, I’m so pleased for you! At least you can relax now! X

@Pippamorgan Thank you, but I don’t think it will be as my tests were getting lighter too :(

Thinking of you @DHB x

Thank you @Pippamorgan, just such a long wait until next Thursday 😞 x

DHB · 27/06/2023 14:38

Well, ended up spending a good 4 hours in hospital. Confirmed miscarriage, everything has passed naturally and my HCG is at 20 which is really low, so hopefully within the week it’s gone to zero and we can try again :(

I also had some fluid at the back of my womb which they have put down to a cyst having popped when the egg was released, completely normal they said and won’t affect future pregnancies.

Thank you all for your support 💗💗

@DHB aww I'm so sorry, I'm heartbroken for you

I wish you all the best thank you for all the support you have given me couldn't have made it through without you xx

plopss · 27/06/2023 14:57

Oh @DHB I'm so sorry to hear this 😞 I hope you are doing ok.

I hope you don't mind me asking but was there a reason it took so long? I have a horrible feeling mine is going the same way, I don't think I can loose this much blood with cramps and it still be hopeful 😞

DHB · 27/06/2023 15:08

@Pippamorgan That’s what we’re all here for 💗 Got to keep each other going! I hope you have a lovely pregnancy and have your healthy baby at the end 🥰

@plopss Of course I don’t mind! Which part are you referring to as the long bit though, you mean at hospital today? If so, I had a scan first of all where they initially said there was no baby, then had to wait again for the registered nurse to check the scans and speak to us, then had to have bloods done to check HCG as they wanted to rule out ectopic. Had another long wait after that, then they said routine bloods were normal but still had to wait for the HCG bloods to come back so more waiting, then once they’d come back and were low, they confirmed it was a miscarriage rather than ectopic and said about the popped cyst too so we had some questions about that, then we were allowed to go home, so to be honest, majority of it was just waiting! X

@DHB so sorry, yes I meant the hospital. Thank you for explaining it all, it sounds very thorough and reassuring. Before things started going so wrong I told work I've just got a follow up at the hospital from my loss last year and I'd just be in a bit late, but now I think I might have to say something else. Thank you so much, it's helping me prepare. I'm so sorry again this TTC is so tough 😔

DHB · 27/06/2023 15:52

@plopss Its horrible isn’t it as it forces you to tell people you might not want to know. I had to tell my work too, as I work in the emergency services and my role is dangerous and physical so there’s no way I would have been able to work, especially as the hospital told me to take things easy in the lead up to my scan today. Work have been amazing though.

How has your bleeding/pain been? X

happydaysss · 27/06/2023 16:21

@DHB I'm so sorry. I'm glad you have your answers and can begin the cycle again soon. Take care of yourself, it's a horribly difficult time xxxx

plopss · 27/06/2023 16:40

@DHB It really is. I'm so glad your work have been so understanding though.

My bleeding has definitely ramped up today and the cramping has been for longer periods of time. However it's not enough to be on a pad, only when I wipe, I thought it might be because I'm going to the toilet more but I've been noting it down and every 2 or so hours I go to the loo so enough time to make it onto a pad I'd have thought 🤷🏻‍♀️ The blood is bright pink and red, along with some CM and sometimes small clots (sorry TMI but I know I've found it so useful reading actual descriptions).

I'm basically telling myself it is bad news as I think this will help prepare me for next week. I haven't tested since I got my BFP (over a week ago) and the midwife said it might make me more anxious if I did, but I might do one if and when the bleeding stops. X

DHB · 28/06/2023 11:32

@happydaysss Thank you, trying to keep positive and look forward to this cycle instead 💗

@plopss Perhaps pop a pad on so you can track it a bit easier. I definitely think your idea of thinking the worst (as awful as it is) is probably a good thing though, that way it’s not so much of a sudden blow if it has gone that way, but equally, if it’s good news then it’ll be even better for you!

I probably wouldn’t test again either, as like you say, it might make you feel worse, especially as I was reading about the book effect which happens with HCG tests around this time. In short, the HCG levels are too strong and the tests can’t cope with it so show up fainter x

OP posts:
plopss · 28/06/2023 22:03

@DHB thank you, I think you're right about not testing again. I've been wearing a pad today and there is a bit on there but not much, it's mainly all when I wipe after going to the loo and it's quite a bit then. I don't really understand and a usual period for me would be changing a pad very regularly. Only time will tell I guess...

DHB · 29/06/2023 15:07

@plopss Id take it as a positive that you’re not bleeding heavy or passing any clots then at least.

Try to relax as much as you can and just take things easy whilst you’re waiting for your scan, I know it’s hard though xx
