Had some spotting this morning. Getting so sick of this now, I can’t enjoy this pregnancy at all 😔 had a scan two weeks ago at 9+5 due to spotting and everything was fine, it all stopped and I’ve started spotting again today. Haven’t got my 12 week scan until 7th July. Luckily the EPU are going to see me tomorrow afternoon but I’m a nervous wreck and just thinking the worst 😔

ThomasinaLivesHere · 29/06/2023 09:30

@Ksangha have you directly spoken to midwife about it or anyone else? It seems strange the appointment can’t be changed. So frustrating for you.

Ksangha · 29/06/2023 09:36

Thanks everyone- I chase it everyday am with the antenatal clinic, the ultrasound department
I asked my midwife to change it she said she couldn’t! Iv spoken to another midwife who said she will look into it
so frustrating! Especially with ivf - as the date is quite accurate the clinic give you! Fingers crossed for this midwife 🤞🏼

ThomasinaLivesHere · 29/06/2023 09:37

@Ksangha your midwife sounds odd. Did she give a reason for why? Surely the system allows for mistakes to be corrected.

LittleAlien24 · 29/06/2023 10:05

@Ksangha hope you get it sorted.

Im 11w 5d today. was so happy i bearly had any nausea last week for few days but it was way too early to be happy for that. Have had so bad nausea for the last 4 days or so and just hoping it won't go on like this until 5 months like it did with my first one. Hormones are all over the place as well.

Have my 12w screening scan on Monday and will get the blood results then as well (here they do screening bloods at 10w and scan at 12w and then look at the both of them forfull results). Will then find out as well do i have to keep going back in every 2 weeks or will she push it to 3 weeks. Im really nervous and worried.

suz2285 · 29/06/2023 10:08

@youaremysunshine03 glad they're seeing you again! even if they could give you a reason for the bleeds, such a worry! i have heard loads of people just say they bled on and off for no reason, but it's not a nice feeling!

@LittleAlien24 i'm the same with nausea, i get a day or two of feeling ok then a day or two of feeling rubbish, it's a different kind of nausea from early weeks where i just felt rubbish and exhausted most of the time! This seems stronger but in waves! My hormones are wild too, just keep randomly crying at everything!

cossie13 · 29/06/2023 10:09

Morning guys,

Had a scan yesterday after all the cramping and baby has grown and heartbeat was lovely and strong. Baby even did a little jump for us! She said I've got an extremely tilted uterus and its almost bent in the middle! I've never heard this before but when she said the pain was probably ligaments and everything straightening itself out, it actually makes sense now. And the bleed that was sat below baby is now a lot smaller than my last scan which is amazing too!

Hope you are all ok?

LittleAlien24 · 29/06/2023 10:14

@suz2285 you right it does feel stronger than at the beginning but i wish mine would be in waves, it's constant.
I feel so bad for my 16y old. Her sister went away until October so i told her we'll go and discover new places (didn't know then that i was pregnant) but all i can do is be a couch potato 😔 even just going upstairs to put laundry out is making my nausea worse.

LittleAlien24 · 29/06/2023 10:16

@cossie13 that's great news.

suz2285 · 29/06/2023 10:19

@cossie13 great news, though sorry about your bent uterus! Who knew that was a thing, glad it's straightening out!!

@LittleAlien24 have you got anything for the nausea? the tablets really help!

LittleAlien24 · 29/06/2023 10:25

@suz2285 my obstetrician won't give me anything 😔 she said its normal on first trimester. At my first visit to my gp (who's gyne aswell) to check my pregnancy he said aswell that he doesn't really feel good about giving me anything. He was just really worried about my pregnancy because I've quite a few things going on.
It's just so draining and takes all the happiness away... Sorry about complaining about it

TunnocksTCake · 29/06/2023 10:27

@Cossie I have a tilted uterus and it always makes Abdominal scans difficult early on, and they said it explains the pains I get in my back in the early stages too. A Weird kind of diagnosis but hoping it wont affect me after this one is out! Glad all was ok :)

@youaremysunshine03 sorry youre having to deal with that but glad they are seeing you again. Its such a worry but I am sure everything will be fine! Hope you can keep busy til Tomorrow afternoon.

I am seriously running out of clothes to wear that hide my growing belly, its honestly about the same as it was at 15/16 weeks first time round and my 'fat day dress' isnt cutting it any more. Really not ready to tell work yet so may have to do some emergency shopping but hesitant to do so until after scan on Saturday. Im so supersticious its ridiculous... seeing single magpies everywhere and soluting like mad 😅Even my DD has started to say good morning to them!

greengreensummer · 29/06/2023 10:32

@youaremysunshine03 I hope everything is ok, sending you hugs.

@LittleAlien24 Hope you're nausea get's better soon, take care of yourself and rest as much as you need.

@cossie13 lovely news about your baby! I told my bosses this morning that I'm pregnant, I was literally shaking I was so nervous! They were really happy for me and so lovely, I don't know why I was worried.

Probably sounds weird but I feel like I had an adrenaline rush once I told my bosses, and now I feel like I'm crashing and more exhausted than ever. So many emotions and new things going on! My scan is on Tuesday, I can't wait I'm so worried and excited all at the same time.

LittleAlien24 · 29/06/2023 10:57

@TunnocksTCake i don't feel so bad now not fitting into my clothes. Have only few dresses that are still ok.
@greengreensummer thank you

I just got a call from my 18y old who's away working until October. Last week she got her first pay and now before heading back to work tonight she's out shopping for her baby sister/brother 🥰 that's how you get tears out of a pregnant momma 😢

WitcheryDivine · 29/06/2023 11:47

@Ksangha that's absolutely ridiculous, I'd ring them again and ask to speak to the supervisor. It's stupid that a simple mistake is going to affect your/the baby's necessary screening and also potentially things like maternity leave dates - if you listened to the blooming midwife you couldn't even go on mat leave til after you've had the baby potentially. I'd make it clear that it needs correcting, stern teacher voice. Even more so if you've had IVF so know full well when conception was.

cossie13 · 29/06/2023 12:03

Thanks all. I knew about my tilted cervix but had no idea that extended to the uterus too let alone having a funny shaped one 😂

CarnelianArtist · 29/06/2023 12:28

@TunnocksTCake I'm the same. Why not get some maternity clothes that don't look too maternity. I'm wearing this dress HAPPY MAMA. Women's Maternity Jersey Baby Shower Dress Short Sleeves. 8416p https://amzn.eu/d/eDmXYAJ. So cheap as well. Sizes are not generous though, they call a size 12 large! Charming. And get a pale colour. I'm also getting second hand Jojo dresses from vinted and bought a few playsuits a size too big as they don't rest on the stomach.

CarnelianArtist · 29/06/2023 12:30

@youaremysunshine03 that sounds really tough :( just remember that it was ok at the last scan and it will be OK again.

CarnelianArtist · 29/06/2023 12:49

@cossie13 thats great news! So glad your scan went well!

TrudyProud · 29/06/2023 15:07

Had my NHS scan today and the little one is perfect! Heart rate 158bpm. Due date 7th January 2024!! 💕

So lovely reading about everyone else's positive scans. Honestly I've been on tenterhooks during this wait.

greengreensummer · 29/06/2023 15:10

@TrudyProud Congratulations! Great to hear your scan went well, you must be over the moon!!

suz2285 · 29/06/2023 15:16

@TrudyProud congratulations, did you get any pics?? x

Mummyme87 · 29/06/2023 15:27

Lovely @TrudyProud wonderful news

urgh work makes me feel so ill. I’ve had a short nap, take paracetamol, well hydrated but still my head aches and just want to sleep. I’m off until Tuesday after today, going away with friends on Saturday for the night and an evening spa. Looking forward to it!

Kalodin · 29/06/2023 15:33

Struggling to keep up! This thread has moved fast past couple days!

Congratulations on all the scans and good news ✨️

I've a tilted uterus and cervix too @cossie13 , the uterus sorts itself out as pregnancy progress. But I always wondered if that's why my babies always end up poorly positioned.

I am determined to really focus on Optimal positioning this time around, listening to all the podcasts, reading research and doing the exercises etc already to get me into the habitat 😂

@Mummyme87 Spa sounds luxurious right now, wish I could join you! Have a lovely time, hopefully the blissfullness eases the headache

Really struggling at work today, found out whose being promoted. I haven't made the cut unfortunately, in fact no women have.... but half the men have been.

TrudyProud · 29/06/2023 16:37

suz2285 · 29/06/2023 15:16

@TrudyProud congratulations, did you get any pics?? x

Yep I did, here's one of them.

I'm not sure on gender. DH said her heard the tech say "him" but when she was measuring the legs/femur I could have sworn I saw a girl potty shot. Not sure now
