Thanks @Muriel84 I'll have a look into the squeezy app might be useful.

@ThomasinaLivesHere I'm voting boy

RaspberryTime · 20/06/2023 20:42

I haven’t been here much as have been battling nausea…yuk! I’m 8+5, it’s my first pregnancy, and I’m sure I’ve got a bump. My clothes are tight and my tummy is firm and rounded. Intriguingly I’ve lost 2lbs since I weighed myself at week 6. Anyone else growing but shrinking?!

Mummyme87 · 20/06/2023 21:20

@lucya66 thats a long appt but you had a few appts merged into one hence the length of time. My booking was 1.5hrs but it’s a friend so we chatted also. Combined Bloods appt next week, that will be 15-20mins, scan 20-30mins plus waiting time. Adds up!! Glad it went well for you. Can’t see the nub on your photo

mummyytothree · 20/06/2023 21:49

Hi everyone I just seen this thread thought
join as I’m due in January too. Congrats to all. I had my first scan yesterday and I am 11 weeks + 6 days. It’s my fourth pregnancy and all is going well so far. Has any one started any cravings?

Also I wanted to share my scan picture and see if anyone can use the nub theory to work out if it’s a boy or girl.

@Outdamnspot23 @youaremysunshine03 @suz2285 @FirstT1meMum

Thanks for sharing! So reassuring hearing others are the same, it's so bizarre how some people can't stop throwing up and others feel nothing!! Especially as all the things I'm reading say sore boobs at least 🤷‍♀️ nevermind eh, it's all a waiting game, please do send your 12 week news when you get it!! Mines two weeks today, counting down the days to know what's going on in there.

Also yes the weeing, allllll the time. I've not slept through the night since I found out I was pregnant and I'm usually a great sleeper!

Lilothblos · 20/06/2023 22:36

Is anyone else ravenous all of the time? I keep waking up in the night with it, I constantly feel like I need to be eating! And snacking on fruit and veg doesn’t seem to touch the sides, it has to be something carby. I know they say you don’t need extra calories in the first trimester but I can’t seem to avoid it!

OP posts:
Mummyme87 · 20/06/2023 22:40

I wake up multiple times a night, wasn’t someone that slept through anyway, not since having kids anyway, but jeepers, some nights it’s hourly.

we’ve had a birthing pool installed on our labour ward, it’s not ready to use yet but I’m wondering if I might want to try it. I’m fairly high risk but that’s who it’s for 😬

Onedayatatime24 · 20/06/2023 22:42

@Lilothblos I'm with you on the carbs, fruit and veg are doing nothing for me! All I want is bread and chips.

Kalodin · 21/06/2023 05:48

Your hospital has installed a birthing pool especially for High risk people @Mummyme87 ! That's amazing! Mine will not allow high risk (so me as its a VBA2C hopefully) get into the pool, showers only. I adored getting into the bath with DS1 when in labour (pool was available but the bath done the trick)

Yes me @Lilothblos It's the only thing that keeps my sickness at bay. I'm actually eating smaller portions overall and losing weight but craving carbs

sashastuck · 21/06/2023 05:55

@ThomasinaLivesHere I’d go with girl! Just guessing but I’d say if the sticking up part is a leg, then the nub is that straight horizontal line. Because it’s straight, girl 😍

Thanks for all the replies regarding bumps! I think I’ll go with the idea that I have a lil bump in that case. I guess as weeks progress if it doesn’t grow I’ll know it’s a food baby 😂

@Lilothblos yeah I’ve definitely been eating more and allowing myself to if that makes sense. Only thing I’ve gone off is chicken so I’m still eating well but just need MORE!

lucya66 · 21/06/2023 06:23

Thank you :) yeah four hours was long but I waited around a lot for different people. Also I had to wait to get a prescription and then collect it from hospital pharmacy which took a good 45 mins.

Lilothblos · 21/06/2023 06:51

Glad to hear it’s not just me with insatiable hunger! I got up for a 4am snack of crackers last night 😂

Mummyme87 · 21/06/2023 07:14

@Kalodin yes lots of labour wards have a pool on their labour ward, with the waterproof monitoring etc. it’s a real game changer for us as so many women want it. Might be a game changer for me, as long as it’s available as only one 😬

10weeks today!

cossie13 · 21/06/2023 09:29

@Kalodin thank you, the pain is still there. It's like a constant cramp but they said it might take 2-3 weeks to subside. Luckily I've not had any physical bleeding but if I do, I'm to call EPAS asap and they'll scan me to make sure it's just the bleed and that baby is ok - apparently the cramping isn't enough to scan me so soon after my last one and my 12 week scan is in 2 and a half weeks anyway.

How is everyone doing today? Love that everyone is feeling hunger, has anyone had any specific cravings yet? For me the last week it's been ham and cheese toastie. But not just any ham & cheese toastie, it has to be the one from Starbucks! This is going to get expensive if this continues!!

Kalodin · 21/06/2023 09:41

That's amazing, I wonder if mine has changed from 3 years ago @Mummyme87 !🤞

Not to wish your life away but I do hope these next 2 weeks go quickly and smoothly for you @cossie13

Fish and chips I've been craving like mad... mental because I don't usually like it

Matildahoney · 21/06/2023 09:45

If anyone is overweight and wants to know more, there's a great lady on Instagram called the heavyweight midwife. She specialises in plus size births and it's great to answer any questions.

cossie13 · 21/06/2023 09:45

I'm 100% wishing my life away for the next few weeks @Kalodin! I just want to know for sure that my baby is ok you know? It's so bloody tempting to book a private scan again to so I know for certain.

Oh nice! I find it really strange people saying they crave stuff they don't like because I've not actually craved anything in any of my pregnancies that I don't already like!

Out of curiosity then, what's the strangest thing you guys have found yourself craving? Either in this or any other pregnancy?

Matildahoney · 21/06/2023 09:50

I can't wait for my scan, it's not until 3rd!

I've gone off tomatoes, can't eat egg mayo which I love, craving anything salty-think I'm probably dehydrated!

And at 12 weeks tomo I have a bump!

Mushroo · 21/06/2023 09:54

I definitely have a small bump at 12 weeks, but my bloating has disappeared so it’s a bit more ‘neat’ and my jeans fit again!

My cravings have been random, also fish and chips (probably the salt?), Korean food / anything with a bit of spice which is odd as I normally hate spicy food.

Time has basically stopped for me. Waiting for NIPT results and really want them this week as we’ve organised lunches with both sets of parents this weekend!

Flossiepot · 21/06/2023 09:59

I've had no cravings at all 😢 I was really looking forward to all the crazy things people crave 😹
I do just wake up every day with new ideas of things to eat though - went off meat but seem to have been able to eat that again since Sunday.
11 weeks today 🥰 Big bloat and the very bottom of my stomach feels like it's starting to swell but no bump - those who have bumps have you had previous pregnancies?
I've only popped in / out on this chat recently as the time was ticking by but it's starting to feel so real for me now 😍

Kalodin · 21/06/2023 10:03

Yeah I bet you're probably finding it hard to focus on anything else @cossie13 Really do hope the best

I still haven't got a date for mine! @Matildahoney ah is that linked is it, craving salt and being dehydrated? Because I'm constantly wanting salty foods but also constantly drinking, I can't seem to quench my thirst unless I actually have water in my mouth.

Weirdest thing I saved was sugar granules with DS1, I used to eat sugar by the spoon out the sugar jar 😳

Kalodin · 21/06/2023 10:05

Yeah @Flossiepot This is my 4th pregnancy that's made it this far along.

Definitely a bump there, it stays consistent throughout the day and can see it slightly bulging even when laying down.

DS1 bloody asked today "mummy is there a baby in your tummy at last!" In front of all the school mums 😳 I didn't want to lie so I paused for wayyyyy too long and said "another baby would be lovely wouldn't it"

Buttonmoon86 · 21/06/2023 10:07

I have my scan Friday morning and the nerves are kicking in. Thankfully it’s at 9:20.

no cravings as yet but definitely have an increase in appetite!

cossie13 · 21/06/2023 10:09

Thanks @Kalodin, yes it's literally all I can think about which is why I am seriously considering another private scan. OH thinks I'm insane though and that I should trust the medical professionals.

Ooooo, do we think our younger ones have a sixth sense? One night last week I was SUPER queasy and lay in bed, OH said he'd put DD to bed and told her to come give me a cuddle because I was feeling a bit poorly. And out of nowhere, she comes out with, "are you poorly because you have a baby in your tummy?" 😳me and OH looked at each other like WTF?? Told her no and that I was just feeling poorly. I hate lying but we're not ready for them to know yet!

Muriel84 · 21/06/2023 10:11

@cossie13 sorry if I missed this, do you have a collection of blood in your uterus? That’s what I have too. I bled heavily last Friday and had crippling pain assumed I was miscarrying. Scanned straight away tho and pregnancy was fine. Next scan is 29th June - counting down the days. The haematoma was 3cm diameter on the last scan so like an egg and about the same size as the pregnancy. She said I’ll likely bleed some more but it’s settled the last couple of days. The pain was so bad… really hope it’s gone.

Im with you on the expensive cravings I’m spending a fortune on food 😬 and DP has commented on my hourly changes in cravings… yesterday I really wanted a smoked salmon on rye bread sandwich but nhs guidelines now seem to say avoid smoked salmon which I’m sure is new. Obviously all I want is smoked salmon.

@Kalodin i think that’s a lovely response to your son 🥰
