It's very early days but I suspect there are some new BFP's meaning we'd be due in February. I'm 4 weeks today so super early. Anyone with me? Has anyone got any early pregnancy symptoms?

I don't have other children but my friend bought one of her little boys character toys and said your baby brother/sister has got this for you while they are cooking away and can't wait to meet you etc etc . I thought that was sweet !

@Mangotango39 ahh that’s a sweet idea. Thank you.
I like that. It’s my daughters birthday this weekend also so many a birthday present from bro/sis.

@GoneAway227 I've had a dyestealer on an easy at home and frer but still testing. It gives me reassurance. I'll probably stop testing daily when I get a dye stealer on a 25 ml (or whatever the unit is) test and a 3+ on digital. Noone told me that pregnancy was such an anxious time.

GeriatricMumma · 21/06/2023 13:10

It's not a dye stealer is it

I'm just seeking out that 3+

I hope you don’t mind me joining in! Have been following the thread for a while but finally feeling brave enough to join.

A little about me, after going through IVF and having a miscarriage in February we managed to have one embryo transferred on the 5th June and one frozen. I am absolutely over the moon that we got an BFP again but super cautious after having a loss the last time around.

I was referred to the maternity A&E at the weekend and due to having sharp pain on my left hand side they have done HCG and we managed to have an ultrasound, the sonographer(eventually) could see a little sac and yolk sac which was fantastic news as when she rang us and told me to rush back in for an ultrasound and couldn’t give me the HCG number over the phone I thought it was bad news again.

Im super excited but also very cautious that our happiness can be taken away at any stage but I want to try and enjoy it as much as possible without worrying too much (if that’s even possible 🙈)

Hi guys! I see there’s another due in Feb thread so not sure which one most people are using…anyway hello! I’ve just found out I’m pregnant (ClearBlue says 2-3 so technically 4-5?) This will be my second baby, got an 11 month old too. Congrats to all of you!

I see a lot of you are saying you told the doctor at 4ish weeks, is that 4 weeks from LMP? In which case now for me?? I was living in the US with my last baby so not sure what’s normal here x

Un7breakable · 21/06/2023 14:13

@User0224 Yes four weeks LMP. In my area you self refer after you get a positive test but won't be seen until 8 weeks.

@GeriatricMumma It's super close. This is mine from this morning on a 10 MIU test. Which I think just counts. At least it does in my head. Although now I look at it again ...

@User0224 Sorry forgot to say congratulations 🎉

Hankthehonk · 21/06/2023 14:16

@FrostedFlake welcome and sorry for your loss - there are quite a few of us here who are pregnant after miscarriage, the anxiety is ten times worse! But let's just take it a day at a time. What do you think your expected due date is? Congratulations!

Hankthehonk · 21/06/2023 14:17

@User0224 welcome and congratulations! I saw that there was another thread too but I guess it doesn't matter, this one feels pretty busy.
I think it varies depending on area but general NHS advice is to notify your GP or midwife unit when you get a positive test. I self referred last Friday at less than 4 weeks.

Hello, and congrats on your pregnancy! Okay will do, thanks for sharing x

PeeBeee · 21/06/2023 15:42

just on the back of your comments re telling Doc when you get a positive preg test….

I am in the UK and called the day after i found out and was told to call back in 2 weeks when the pregnancy is ‘well established’

does that mean whatever they do is going to be delayed as he is telling me at 4 weeks to call back at 6?

Well that was shit of them! I'd call back and ask to be booked in.

My area is slightly different. It's self referral online so maybe have a Google and see if you can do that too?

I needed to change my meds so booked GP for that (which was yesterday) but other than that I won't use them.

BbyBx2 · 21/06/2023 15:46

I’m 6 weeks today and have called midwife this morning I’m booked in for the 7th July for my booking in appointment. If that’s any help xxx

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 21/06/2023 15:47

It's six weeks and a self referral online form here. They sent an electronic letter the next day with my 12 week scan date

moosey89 · 21/06/2023 15:49

@PeeBeee my area has a self referral form - if you Google 'maternity services [insert town name]' you should be able to find the website for the hospital, and I'd be really surprised if they didn't have a self referral form now. Sorry your GP was a bit of a jerk - they should just provide the referral to maternity services as it's really nothing to do with them!

PeeBeee · 21/06/2023 16:06

@moosey89 thank you! I have found a form, thank you - going to bypass my surgery and just self refer straight to the hospital! Yeah, the whole ‘well established’ did nothing for my anxiety!! Xx

moosey89 · 21/06/2023 16:32

@PeeBeee ah great stuff! Yeah, they have a way of being thoughtless in how they say things! Glad you found the self referral. Most places will give you a booking appointment between 7-10 weeks (I got offered 8 weeks but am away for work, so now am closer to the 10 week point). xx

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 21/06/2023 16:40

@PeeBeee the booking appointment is really rubbish, but you want to make sure you can get booked in for the 12 week scan between 11-13 weeks. I was booked in at almost 14 weeks last time, and it's too late to get an accurate nuchal measurement so caused a lot more faff

So I actually rang the doctor this afternoon and they said I have to self refer at the local hospital but they won’t register the pregnancy/accept the form until 6 weeks minimum

PeeBeee · 21/06/2023 17:17

@User0224 ah ok. I have a lg who is 14 months and I self referred the last time (as doctors wasn’t doing it - it was 2021 so unless they weren’t doing it due to covid or something - this is also a new surgery as we have moved since) and I can’t remember actually having a booking apt. I think my 12 week scan was my booking in as well… I am in NI… again maybe it was a covid thing🤷🏻‍♀️ I will fill out the forms anyway and get them sent as I am sure it will be a while before I hear back anyway!

PeeBeee · 21/06/2023 17:25

Are any of you in NI? By the comments, I probably should just wait to next week and call my doc back! I rang him when I was 3+4 as I needed my thyroid checked as I am on medication so I will be 5+4 when I call back xx

Kiwiburgh · 21/06/2023 18:05

Welcome to the group and congratulations on your bfps @User0224 and @FrostedFlake 😁

@Pinkmoon23 how are you doing?
