Thought I'd start a new one as the old one is full!

I'm 37w exactly and definitely starting to feel more Braxton Hicks (they woke me up last night) but they don't seem to be getting more intense/frequent. Also a bit of lower back ache and general bump tenderness, plus I think I've lost a small bit of my mucus plug. Think this is probably normal at this stage and just my body gearing up for labour but am quite nervous as have a c section at 38+3 and hoping to last till then! Second pregnancy but last baby arrived at 36w so feels like uncharted territory!

How is everyone else feeling?

@Belami You can have an ELC without any reason as far as NHS states. You don't have to give a reason for requesting it. Keep pushing for it if you want one. I was induced at 36+6 with DD1. It failed first time but had it next day and she came within half hour then. Both were fine and no pain. This was 8 years ago. I requested ELC with dd2 and they said yes. Obviously didn't happen as she arrived too early.

DD2 had her first vaccinations today. She was so upset. Poor baby. I hate seeing her in pain but I know it's for food reason.

Have a little announcement. Freddie was born on the 28th at 20:55 weighing 7lbs11oz. I was 38+2! So another May baby 🥲

So had another scan today as they weren't convinced on babies position, she now gone from transverse to footling breech, they also are now saying she hasn't grown since 34 weeks so just like that I'm booked in next week for a c section I will be just over 37 weeks 😢. I'm so nervous and about the recovery and now I'm worried that she hasn't grown too, her estimated weight is 4lb 2oz

Hlc86 · 31/05/2023 13:10

@Funfamilytimes oh he's gorgeous, congratulations and hope you are recovering well 😍

hanc66 · 31/05/2023 13:20

Aww congratulations on your beautiful baby boy 💙 I think we had the same due date (9th). Mine seems far too comfy at the moment!!

@Funfamilytimes sorry that reply was to you 😊

HasHus86 · 31/05/2023 13:49

@Funfamilytimes Awwww Congratulations! He’s adorable 😍 I hope you and baby are doing well ♥️

Kelvie103 · 31/05/2023 14:51

@Funfamilytimes aww his little face! So cute, congratulations! Hope you're both doing well.

@Hlc86 Sorry to hear that, I think you're due the day before me so I can understand how worried you are. Hopefully they've underestimated her weight and she'll be small but perfectly healthy. Wishing you all the best.

Hlc86 · 31/05/2023 15:54

@Kelvie103 thank you, yeah I hope they are wrong, I know the estimates can be wrong but it's the way they have done everything so quickly and suddenly they think it's a massive issue when previous scans they said her growth was small but fine as I was small etc 😔. Just dreading the recovery and hate being in hospital

Ally1992 · 31/05/2023 16:17

Congratulations @Funfamilytimes he’s a cutie!

AngelBlue12 · 31/05/2023 17:19

Congratulations for the lovely new babas 😊

I’ve got an appointment at clinic on Friday, hoping that I can have a chat with the consultant. She’s still breech atm so I’m going to ask if I can have an ECV and induction like last time, I’d really like to avoid a CS if we can safely manage it.

Dewintergarden · 31/05/2023 18:27

Congratulations on your new addition, he's beautiful @Funfamilytimes

Belami · 31/05/2023 18:54

Awwww @Funfamilytimes congratulations!! He's such a cutie & lovely name😍 did you end up being induced ??

Thanks @BobbySD345 & @BellaTheDarkOverlord i feel a bit more reassured. She said if I get to 40 weeks and they go to book in the induction date she'd let the hospital know id rather have a section. She said id need a meeting with the dr/midwife on the day anyway so I can request c-section. Baby is really engaged anyway so hopefully won't need to even think about all that 🤞🤞

BobbySD345 · 31/05/2023 19:03

Awww congratulations @Funfamilytimes !! So cute. Love the name too 🥰

@Belami glad you are reassured ! That sounds like a good plan but Mummy instinct is clearly telling you baby could make an earlier appearance 🤞🏻 I feel like baby has dropped hugely this week as above my belly button is now really squishy and soft. I will know by next Weds as I have a growth scan. She feels low, I can barely walk !!

Belami · 31/05/2023 20:14

@BobbySD345 I really hope so 🤞!! Ooo that's good about your belly dropping. I've been told midwife could only feel his shoulders, that's how low he is 🤣explains the increase in pain down there for the last few days so I can really sympathise with you and the walking.
Hope the growth scan goes well next weds, keep us updated xx

BobbySD345 · 31/05/2023 20:20

@Belami When I had a growth scan last week I practically had to get naked so she could get low enough with the ultra sound thingy to measure her head 🤣
I have noticed a lot more sort of sciatica type pain in my groin since yesterday. Wondering if that is her wriggling lower down !

Funfamilytimes · 31/05/2023 20:24

@Belami nope! I had two sweeps. I had tightening from the first sweep for 4 days which got me to 2cm then had the second sweep and pretty much instantly had contractions. He was born within 6 hours of the sweep!

PurBal · 31/05/2023 20:49

@Funfamilytimes congratulations, he’s gorgeous.

justbelieve · 01/06/2023 05:15

Congratulations @Funfamilytimes !! Hope you’re all doing well!

For everyone else, there we have it, it’s officially June baby month 🥹

PurBal · 01/06/2023 05:46

@justbelieve yay! Baby month. Can’t believe how quickly it’s come around.

I was convinced something was going to happen last night, I’ve had loose stool for a week or more and spent some of yesterday evening throwing up (didn’t have the latter with DC1), still a bit nauseous this morning but had about 3-4 hours sleep. Seeing the midwife this morning.

Funfamilytimes · 01/06/2023 08:07

Thank you everyone!

@PurBal oooooh that’s what I had! 😬

PurBal · 01/06/2023 09:56

@Funfamilytimes head engaged! I thought I’d dropped overnight 😊 hopefully not long.

ireneadler101 · 01/06/2023 09:58

@firsttimelondonmummy how are you doing? I'm aiming to get to 38+3 (next Wednesday) with my small baby - no more scans booked so unless I go into labour beforehand it's looking like that's the plan!

firsttimelondonmummy · 01/06/2023 10:02

@ireneadler101 they're booked us in for tomorrow (37+1) however we didn’t feel informed enough to feel content with that decision and so waiting to speak to a consultant this morning.
As per usual though nothing is going to plan.
Just been told I shouldn’t have been booked in for a consultant meeting at 10am as they don’t finish rounds till 11.30am.
This hospital just fills me with constant dread 🤦🏻‍♀️
