Thought I'd start a new one as the old one is full!

I'm 37w exactly and definitely starting to feel more Braxton Hicks (they woke me up last night) but they don't seem to be getting more intense/frequent. Also a bit of lower back ache and general bump tenderness, plus I think I've lost a small bit of my mucus plug. Think this is probably normal at this stage and just my body gearing up for labour but am quite nervous as have a c section at 38+3 and hoping to last till then! Second pregnancy but last baby arrived at 36w so feels like uncharted territory!

How is everyone else feeling?

How are everyone else’s babies rolling? Mine isn’t bothered at all. She’s done it on accident only!

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 10/11/2023 11:17

Dd tries to roll over to the left but her shoulder keeps getting in the way and she falls back. Can’t do it from tummy as she hates tummy time.

She cut her first teeth today! Two little pegs at the bottom. She’s been teething for weeks and this week her cheeks were really pink. I only knew as she grabbed my finger to chew on it and she bit me!

toomanysausages · 10/11/2023 11:21

@BellaTheDarkOverlord awww that sounds so cute! Hopefully now her teeth are through that is some relief! I wonder if the bottom teeth will cause her top teeth to come through??

No sign of teeth yet but dd sooooooooo dribbly. She's always damp, it's actually quite gross..

tigerlily0 · 11/11/2023 06:39

Nice to see updates. My Lo has always been a bad sleeper but the last couple weeks have killed me off! 45min/hourly wake ups and she just wants the boob in her mouth, doesn't take dummy. Actually really want to stop bf now for this reason but then she doesn't have any comfort to get her to sleep. Shh patting actual angers her more lol.

Hubby is away on a stag for 4 nights, he can't help much in the night but atleast in the day I would normally get a break cos she is soooooo clingy right now, can't put her down- she used to be so chill. Is this a 5 month regression thing?? She's 22 weeks now and rolls and can sit well, has always had good neck control, she's a very nosey baby.

Not sure when to start weaning, my other kids are 7 and 9 and iv forgotten when and what to start with!

B1993 · 11/11/2023 07:39

Hi everyone!
Time seems to be flying by for us - my little (quite literally) boy is rolling both ways and has since just before 5 months. He's coming up to 6 months on the 20th and 25 weeks (I think) today. He's sitting great in his snug seat and tried some food for the first time yesterday! He's been ready for a while and so interested in anything we're eating but wanted to wait until he was a bit older. We started with courgette and will have some parsnip today. I'll also try broccoli this coming week and maybe some carrots and peas too. Exciting times!

We co-sleep so can't really help with that as I simply give my boy a boob and he goes right back to sleep (and so do I!). Some nights he seems to wake loads and feeds often, other times it's not that much but it's not really taken a toll either way since we're co-sleeping. It's something I was really against with DS1 but working well this time around.

DrinkingAllTheGin · 11/11/2023 07:43

We are planning on starting food today. Going to start with broccoli. I've made some purees and git them in the freezer ready.

If you visit the Ella's kitchen website you can sign up for a free weaning guide. A poster, booklet and money off vouchers.

How's everyone getting on? Matilda has 2 little teeth at the bottom but is showing no signs of rolling over, she is super lazy 😅

Weaning is going well. We are on soft spoon fed food at the moment and will move on to finger food when DD huts 6 months.
The main improvement is in DDs bowels. She had gone from once a week to every day. Even though they now stink!

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 27/11/2023 20:51

Lovely pics! Dd is now 8 months and still on puree due to consultant led. Her two little bottom teeth are sharp fuckers 😂She’s lazy and won’t roll over or sit up unaided. However she’s gone back to sleeping between 8 and 11 hours at night so glad about that.

I love when I catch her staring at me!

Awwww lovely baby pics!! Noticed DD's first tooth yesterday! A teeny tiny sharp little thing! I'm going to miss her lovely gummy smile but I think baby teeth are super cute 🥰 She grabs her feet a lot when she's on her back and was trying to roll yesterday but her arms get in the way. Sidnt bother rolling to today though... Sleep is still horrendous but love waking up to smiles. Weaning is going well. She prefers plainer flavours and is far more accepting of a little texture (she would only eat super purée). Her eating style has much improved too. She also watches me and I feel terrible but some food just isn't for baby! Everything she sees goes into the mouth. She smiles at dogs and watches the cats. Is anybody else co sleeping?

Hoppyhops · 04/12/2023 20:59

I love seeing the cute baby pics! It’s crazy how fast time is going! Does anyone have any nice, Christmassy plans?

DS has started rolling back to front this week, but starts moaning almost immediately after he’s done it because he can’t get back on his own. He used to roll front to back, but hasn’t done that for over a month and seems to have forgotten that he can! Anyone have any tips on how to encourage him or am I just going to have to wait this out? It would be cute if he didn’t insist on rolling every time he’s put on his back 😅😅😅

We’re also well into weaning now-so far he gobbles everything offered to him and is up to breakfast, lunch and supper as well as drinking all his milk. I guess the HV was right and he was starving 🙈 Thankyou to PP who advised on the fruit feeder too- I usually put banana in it and he loves it.

Kelvie103 · 05/12/2023 13:04

Lovely to see all the cute pictures and hear how everyone is getting on. We started weaning Matthew on puree a week ago when he turned 5 months. He loves his food. Mum keeps laughing at the guidance saying they might only have a teaspoon or 2 to start with. Matthew eats everything I give him and cried proper tears when I didn't give him my biscuit the other day. He's definitely ready for food. My health visitor told me to stick to fruit and veg until he's 6 months which will be on boxing day so planning to give him some mushed up Christmas dinner. Not sure when I should be giving him more than 1 meal a day though. He's just having lunch for now.

He got his first tooth a couple of weeks ago although not sure where the 2nd one has got to. He's still not rolling at all but is really good with his hands and everyone is always telling us how alert he is. He's started sleeping alot better now which is so nice. 4 month sleep regression was hard and lasted almost 6 weeks in the end then all of a sudden it ended. He's a pretty chilled baby most of the time unless he's hungry!

@Kelvie103 Ohh he is just adorable! I love his snowman jumper!

haha I also tried to stick rigidly to the weaning guidance about teaspoons and he just kept shouting for more- it’s really hard to know what to do for the best isn’t it? I try to be led by DS but he is such a grubber!

toomanysausages · 12/12/2023 13:18

Dd can now sit up! I'm really pleased as she has only rolled (awake) twice now and I think one of the times was a fluke 🤣

What sort of foods are you feeding you little ones? How have they taken to weaning? Dd is a little fruit bat. She is good with most texture but some days she likes a certain good and then the other she will clamp her mouth shut. 🤷‍♀️ I love giving her little tastes of things

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 12/12/2023 13:24

@toomanysausages Thats brilliant! Dd 8 months now and wont sit up at all. Just falls over. She rolled yesterday though! First time and she did a roll all the way across the bed in pursuit of a cardboard box she is obsessed with.

She’s full of a bad cold at the moment and not sleeping. Poor kid is so stuffed up and coughing. Been projectile vomiting since Friday. Picked up some baby vapour rub today.

Still only on purées here. She’s not interested in any finger foods but following doctors advice she’s best being left a bit longer anyway until she can sit up.

toomanysausages · 12/12/2023 23:24

@BellaTheDarkOverlord oh gosh, poor little mite. Hopefully the Vapour rub will help, I have a tub and it smells horrible but I think they work well for adults so don't see why they wouldn't for babies.

Love the idea of a baby rolling over the bed for a box 🤣

DrinkingAllTheGin · 13/12/2023 08:02

DD is loving eating food. Sadly her bowels have slowed right down and the poor thing is really struggling to go.
I've stopped all the porridge and baby rice and just doing fruit and veg for a couple of days to try and sort her out.

My kitchen floor is a disaster zone!

Ally1992 · 13/12/2023 09:24

DS is 7 months next week and has rolled about 4 times, he just has no interest in it 🤣 we’ve been doing purées, yoghurts, porridge and baby rice, he loves his porridge every time, sometimes he likes the purées and other times he turns his face away. We have two teeth now!

toomanysausages · 13/12/2023 11:41

@Ally1992 he looks absolutely scrumptious and very Christmassy! 🥰 I found porridge/rice made dd quite constipated.

What sort of gifts are we getting for our babies? I have got a few baby books (the robust type). I'm going to look for some suction toys and toys she can grow into but that aren't too advanced iyswim

Ally1992 · 13/12/2023 13:29

@toomanysausages thank you 🥰 when we first put DS on solids he went 6 days without having a poo 🙈 seems quite regular now though.

I just got a couple of outfits as I know my partners family have got him toys, we’ll see what he gets then maybe look in the sales in January.

How is everyone getting on with naps? DS is down to 3 a day but will still only go 45 mins max.

toomanysausages · 13/12/2023 21:59

@Ally1992 sales are a good idea. Might see what's about in Jan. grandparents are buying her a bit too.

Dd naps three times a day. I'm pregnant again so this week we've been napping together 🤣 but I'm trying to establish a better napping routine. We do (approx) 30 mins morning, 1hr 30 after lunch and then 1hr afternoon or evening

DrinkingAllTheGin · 13/12/2023 23:15

@toomanysausages congrats!
Naps as and when here, which is hard but she gets enough sleep most days. Sleeping through the night well so ill take it!

Ally1992 · 14/12/2023 07:21

@toomanysausages aww congratulations!

BobbySD345 · 14/12/2023 09:32

@tootoomanysausages Ah congratulations !!

We have had 2 weeks of bronchialitis which has thrown off routine and weaning progress. All she has had food wise so far is pureed peas which she liked, pureed brocolli which was a no (and resulted in a horrendous nappy) and some baby rice which was also a no. Going to try pureed carrot next and maybe some baby porridge.

We have so many Xmas outfits she's wearing them daily now until the big day to get wear out of them lol.

Pressies wise we wouldn't have got much if we didn't have a 4yo but thought he'd be confused if Santa only brought things for him so she does have quite a bit wrapped up. Mainly has the smaller pink light up musical vtech toys as when DS was small he showed no interest in that sort of thing so we have none as hand me downs but she absolutely loves anything noisy and light up. Also got her a personalised My1styears backpack and soft ballerina dolly from there with her name on. Backpack is just her initials as it is for nursery. Also picked up some of the sensory squishy mats etc from Smyth's Toys which are reasonably priced.
