Hope everyone is ok. For those feeling low, it's understandable...hormones probably play a very big part in all of this.

On a side note...is anyone else bump really big?? I'm 22 weeks with my second every single
Person I come into contact with comments on how huge I am :/

Omg I'm glad I'm not the only one! I'm 19w 4d & the amount of people who say I'm massive considering it's my 3rd , there is one lady who is pregnant and same amount of weeks as me and she's tiny and she makes me look fat!

I'm feeling so self conscious now about my body and hide it away , I don't think it's helps I have a cyst a size of 4 & half CM . So I've been feeling low in my self . I look at myself in the mirror everyday and think why am I so big at this stage I don't remember being this big with my last 2.

Am I going to have a big baby? I keep saying to myself .

I hope your ok . Xx

Morning! I think I've only slept about an hour!! Is anyone else struggling with insomnia. Mood has also been low but think it's linked to lack of sleep and the rest.

My bump is really big, and I feel pretty big in myself, this also effects my mood.

Nice to be feeling the little kicks though thus helps relieve some anxiety for me.

Has anyone else got low PAPP A?

Hello , hope your well , yes I've been told I have low PAAP-A , was you told anything about it by the consultant xx

TMI2000 · 07/07/2023 09:14

@Crazybrowncow the insomnia is kicking in for me now at 20 weeks! Struggling so much to fall asleep and then going to work the next day is 10 times harder!

I had my whooping cough vaccine on Tuesday at my scan and even today a couple of days later the area is red, raised and still really sore to touch. I know it's all normal but usually I only get a sore arm for a day after a vaccine so it's just doing my head in now!

Crazybrowncow · 07/07/2023 11:28

@LeeanneD11 he didn't say anything really - classed everything as being on track for the time being, fingers crossed it stays that way. Have you had your appt yet?

I was told at my 12 week scan I had low Papp-a and it can cause my baby to low birth weight and been put on aspirin till baby is here , and my placenta isn't getting enough blood flow xx

Crazybrowncow · 07/07/2023 11:35

@LeeanneD11 I had the info sent to me to tell me I had it - it's scary isn't it, but I figure all we can do is have the extra scans and be really vigilant on movement after 28 wks. I'm on aspirin too.

I didn't get any info sent me , yeah I've got extra scans at 32 weeks & 34 weeks and a double check at 20 weeks scan too for an hour to check everything xx

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 07/07/2023 13:12

Nothing mentioned about pappa but my 20 week scan showed low lying placenta so I got a lovely dose of anti-D (ouch!), multiple blood tests and growth scans with placental doppler checks.

Baby measuring all fine though! Legs very firmly crossed so no idea if boy or girl 😂

Mine said that on my notes & then I was told it was anterior placenta so not sure haha , guess I'll find out next Thursday when I have my scan , I have been feeling movements for a week or so now but haven't felt much for a few much days , I'm only 19 weeks so I know this is normal for this stage but I am so busy so this could be why too, did you find out at your 20 week scan about your placenta xx

I'm on badger notes which contains next to nothing!

My placenta is posterior but very low. I can feel baby move but 3 days before the scan I felt a big flip and didn't feel much after. Scan showed baby facing stubbornly backwards so probably kicking more internally/placenta which is why movements dropped off. Means I also need to go back for more measurements at the front. I felt another big flip last night after the scan 🤨 and been feeling much more movements since. Was having a right party during my blood tests.

LeeanneD11 · 07/07/2023 15:33

@FlyingHighFlyingLow
The badger notes app is shit! I can't stand it I prefer the paper notes instead it was much easier to read and understand xx

Katiec1 · 07/07/2023 17:20

@foodislife1 i feel I’m huge this pregnancy 🙈 this was me last night (21weeks today🙈)

Had big scan today and everything went great, although it did take a good hour as baby just would not cooperate 🙈😂. Placenta is still high away from cervix so chances of vbac are looking great 🤞🏼
Also started feeling kicks the last few days, and hubby too, which is really helping settle the anxiety a good bit.
Hope all you ladies are keeping as well as can be ☺️

@Mldn I'm in a very similar boat, work contract ended last month so I'm free too during the day. What's helping me is to remind myself how fortunate to not have work stress and demands, my work/career does not define me, motherhood is a huge blessing and a full time job, how this restful time where I can do whatever I want will not come again (at least not till child is school age), and that this is the time where I can get all the logistics and shopping sorted. I need to make a move on with the latter ... as don't want to leave it last minute and then stress over it. Have you started shopping?

MeganC104 · 07/07/2023 18:50

@Bookworm12345 that's awesome! Any advice? I'm feeling really good about my chances right now but worried I'll struggle towards the end or in the moment

Psqueak87 · 08/07/2023 03:20

@Crazybrowncow yep not sleeping great. I can get to sleep ok but tend to wake after 4-5 hours and can’t get back to sleep. I feel like I’m going to get burnt out sooner or later, I commute 90 mins - 2 hours every day for work, and sold most of my days off in July and august for extra days off in June for our planned holiday, which we ended up cancelling anyways. So I’m working a lot of 9 day on, 1-2 days off until September! I’m on my 8th day in a row right now, mostly 10-12 hour shifts and I’m fecked!

still not feeling the baby strongly, I’m deffo feeling her, but it’s so subtle. My dr said from this point on I should be feeling 6 movements every 2 hours. I told him I only really feel her when I’m lying down before bed and he said that’s fine, but I should be counting 6 every 120 mins when I’m lying down. 23 weeks tomorrow.

added a bumpdate.

@JoyApple I agree, this last week when I have found it tough, I have tried to go with the mindset of how lucky I am to have the freedom I do & how I should cherish these days as life will be very different in a couple of months! It’s just a weird feeling going from a high pressured, corporate job, to nothing. Even though it was absolutely the right move, I do have days where I feel people may be judging etc. but I need to get over that!! When I was working I’d have done anything to have this time off, so need to remind myself of that. I hope you are enjoying the freedom!

I have so far bought my travel system & crib! I’m trying so hard to hold off on buying clothes until later down the line cos there are so many lovely things out there, he will end up with more clothes that me 😂! I’m so excited for him to arrive! Do you know if you’re having a boy or girl? When is your due date x

CliniMama · 08/07/2023 09:01

Sorry to everyone who’s currently having a hard time.
My husband said the other day, “the most important things you can do is be open and keep talking about how you’re feeling”. Talk to your partner, talk to your friends, talk to your therapist and talk to us because you’re not alone. ❤️

Sb86 · 08/07/2023 12:02

Morning ladies, been a bit quiet on here recently...had the 20 week scan just over 2 weeks ago and baby has spina bifida. Got referred straight away to fetal medicine and have made the decision to carry on with the pregnancy, it wasn't easy as there's a lot of unknowns in the future. I know it's easier said than done and everyone has issues/anxieties no matter what anyone else may say but please please if you've had a great 20 week scan with a healthy baby then just try and take the positives from that. Do your best to enjoy the pregnancy and embrace your bumps and everything that comes with it because if you're growing a healthy baby then that really is everything. As you can imagine me and my partner have been all over the place recently and our heads are absolutely buzzing with everything that could be wrong. That being said we have not stopped talking and communicating to make sure we are on the same page and working together instead of against each other. We are now trying to come to terms with what our future may look like and have decided that right now there's not much more we can do but try and enjoy the pregnancy the best we can. I'm sure we will have a few blips along the way but every little kick or movement from our little baby means the absolute world and I honestly cherish every single one. Sending love and strength to those who aren't feeling their usual selves or those not feeling how they think they should be. This pregnancy lark isn't all it's cracked up to be I know but you've got this and just think it won't be long til we meet our beautiful little bundles of joy 🥰❤️

JD90 · 08/07/2023 13:25

@Sb86 sorry to hear you've been through such a stressful time but glad to hear you have a supportive partner and are making positive moves as a couple to enjoy the pregnancy. Can't imagine how tough it must have all been on both of you.

CliniMama · 08/07/2023 13:55

@Sb86 so sorry to hear your news. Many moons ago, my mother was told I had spina bifida and offered a termination. She declined, proceeded with the pregnancy and I was born without the condition. Not to give false hope but just to say I can appreciate what a huge decision that must have been for you and the strength it will have taken. Wishing you and baby all the best.

JoyApple · 08/07/2023 16:04

@Mldn you've bought the big things which is great! I've just started on clothing but still got to buy the cot, pram and cotbed. So all the big things :) we are looking second hand so it's a bit trickier and requires tonnes of patience but I want to get it sorted asap. Not sure why I'm suddenly feeling the urgency to get it all sorted ... I want to have everything ready and sorted by the end of Aug ...

We are having a girl and I'm due on the 8th of Nov. When are you due?

JoyApple · 08/07/2023 16:06

@Sb86 so sorry to hear of your news and sending you much look, can't imagine how tough this must be for you and your partner. It is amazing to see how positive you are! Sending you hugs and best of wishes. Take care xx

Mldn · 08/07/2023 16:10

@JoyApple ah lovely! Baby boy & due 2nd Nov. Yes, I had a pang of wanting to get the bigger bits sorted a couple of weeks back & they were kindly bought for us by parents/in laws, which is why they’re probably the only things that have been bought so far!

I also wanna get things sorted too & have some time to relax before baby makes his appearance! I don’t trust myself with clothes just yet as they’re all so cute!! I’ll go overboard I just know it 😅

Hope you’re feeling okay. I am wiped of all energy this weekend, we went for lunch earlier and I don’t think I spoke a single word & have been plonked on the sofa hugging the fan ever since, it is so humid. I’m literally watching my tummy instead of the tv as I have started to see movements in the last few days which is so lovely!!
