@LeeanneD11 I'm pretty similar.. 3rd pregnancy but coming up to 17wks & haven't felt anything.
I did have anterior placenta in last pregnancy so that's in my head it is the same again. There was no mention of it in my 12wk scan.
I had midwives appt this week tho who did listen in & heard the heartbeat so that has reassured me. This is a hard stage waiting to feel movement & not feeling pregnant.

LilmissCa · 09/06/2023 13:09

@medicmumma so glad all was ok. What a stressful night for you ❤️

I agree , I was told I had one but not on my notes at all , so slightly confused as midwife said they don't tell you till 20 week scan. I had one in my last pregnancy too. I'm looking forward to hearing the heartbeat . Give me some reassurance then . I have a bump now finally but it's just that waiting game still . Worried something has happened or something. Xx

@38andtrying @Sb86 @Travellingislife thank you.

Scan went very well. All measurements within normal range. I know it doesn't mean anything this early but baby was head down and really squashing my bladder which explains the frequent loo trips. My son was breech at 20 weeks. Also found out I have a high posterior placenta which I was hoping for. I had anterior in first pregnancy and I can feel movements much better this time. Also means placenta is no where near my c section scar which is great news! Still on course for vbac 🤞

Psqueak87 · 09/06/2023 15:14

@Travellingislife I feel the same, no symptoms anymore, no movement. I’m 19 weeks now. I’m not really anxious at all about it though, heard the heart rate a few days ago at 159 and I promised myself I would enjoy symptomless days after the awful first trimester. The only thing that keeps me knowing I’m pregnant is that my skinny jeans don’t fit me. I’ve moved onto my “mom” jeans which are bigger and just about fit.

@LeeanneD11 I’m 19 weeks and have felt absolutely nothing. I lie in bed at night really still in the hope of something but nada. Not sure where my placenta is located but I will ask on Monday at my scan. Dr said it should start between 18-21 weeks, depending on build of mother, and position of placenta. But definitely don’t worry. Cause I feel nothing and my latest dr appointment went well with strong heartbeat!

Ahhh thank you for the reassurance that's so helpful! Worry mum cause I've got complications going on too so it's makes me think to much and doesn't help my anxiety either xxx

Just jumping on this train to say that I too literally said to a mate today, 18 wks is a funny quiet time, before you can feel baby and after the storm of sickness has passed. (Which was my way of saying a little anxiety was creeping back in after a lovely scan 2 wks ago!) so I am going to take solace from seeing that many of us are feeling the exact same around this time!

I also had no mention of the anterior placenta at my 12 am scan (which was performed at 13 wks) it was the private 16 one that told me.

not too long ladies until the 20 wk scan let’s all hang in there! ❤️ xx

Spareincoming · 09/06/2023 22:59

Hello everyone! It has been a long time since I’ve posted but I’ve been lurking whilst doing some processing.long story short, my scan and nipt threw up some suggestions of anomalies and I needed to process these. I don’t want to say much as it’s outing but I’m there now. And we’re moving forwards. And getting rounder by the second.

I also found out that I’m not technically actually part of the November gang as I’m due the last day of October according to measurements etc - so I have my 20 week scan next week - I should have guessed as with the other DC my dates have been moved backwards each time. But we’ve always wondered if our maths was correct as I’ve always felt the DC should have cooked for longer!
Hoping you’ll all let me stay anyways!

Psqueak87 · 10/06/2023 00:39

@Spareincoming I was Nov 5 due date but measurements have suggested October 31 the whole way so far too! I’m really hoping for a Halloween baby!

im sorry to hear about your NIPT results! I hope everything is smooth for you from now on ❤️

spanglesj · 10/06/2023 04:07

If this one is born a similar time to my DC, it will be mid-Oct! I must say after a 37 wk baby I can’t imagine having to wait until 40 wks 😂

Echoing Psqueaks words for you Spare. xx

Travellingislife · 10/06/2023 04:46

Thanks ladies! It makes me feel better that others are feeling the same, I.e. nothing haha. Most of the time I feel ok and not anxious but now and again negative thoughts creep in.
In my last pregnancy I wasn’t this worried at all and I enjoyed “not feeling pregnant”. I’m definitely growing a bump though and it’s not just flab from eating too much.

@Spareincoming sorry to hear you’ve had a tough time but glad you’re on the other side now.

medicmumma · 10/06/2023 09:32

Are people thinking about going to antenatal classes? Had a look this morning and shocked that a lot of the due in Nov/Dec in my area are sold out already!

as it’s my first pregnancy and none of my friends have children/likely will anytime soon tempted to go for the social aspect but be interesting to hear people’s thoughts

CliniMama · 10/06/2023 12:59

@medicmumma so I was looking at Bump and Baby but they were all booked up. Have signed up for NCT classes instead.
My first pregnancy too and as you said, more for the networking and support of other mums in my area.
Do you think you’ll sign up?

LilmissCa · 10/06/2023 13:07

@Spareincoming sorry you've had such a worrying time ❤️ great your back

@spanglesj don't bet on another 37wk baby. My first was 37w3d & my 2'd kept me me waiting until 40+5 !! It was the longest month of my life. Ive no idea what to expect this this time!

PinkPlantCase · 10/06/2023 13:47

We did NCT with our first and I’m really glad we did. I imagine it’s better when its in person it was all on zoom apart from meet ups after the babies were born.

It was a good way to meet local mums and find out more about other local services and groups.

PinkPlantCase · 10/06/2023 13:49

Sorry that was for @medicmumma

GemmaJen · 10/06/2023 16:33

@Spareincoming there will be a few of us delivering in October, and possibly even September. I'm hoping my section date will be booked for the 18th October 🤞 if it is, I'm now past halfway 😱 hopefully the consultant will give me some confirmation next week.

I usually love weekends, but I can't wait for this one to pass, I've such a busy week next week I just want to get it over with 🙈

4 appointments - 20 Week scan, consultant scan, consultant appointment and specialist team referral. Plus the dentist, 2 sport competitions for my hobbies and somehow holding down my job and usual home life at the same time 😑 I'll be relieved when I get to next weekend.

Spareincoming · 10/06/2023 17:49

@GemmaJen Based on the letter I got today, my c-section is likely to be the end of that week or the start of the week after.
which means I’m almost half way. Hurrah as this pregnancy has been the worst of them all! It’s definitely the last!

i’m trying to remember if 20 week scan is also a midwife appointment too as I can’t remember and need to know if I need to take a pee sample! My bladder doesn’t cooperate at the hospital! Never has, probably never will!

spanglesj · 10/06/2023 18:16

@LilmissCa good to know! Our previous bubbas were the same then 37+3!

@medicmumma i did NCT and kept in touch with 1 person, yet some ppl met lots, and some none. It’s hit and miss and luck of the draw for the social side but on balance worth it I think! I’m going to do the free NHS 1 day one this time.

Anyone still feeling sick at 18 wks. 🤢 Surely soon it will b* off 😁! xx

Thack · 10/06/2023 19:47

@spanglesj I'm in the same boat! Didn't quite reach 37 weeks on my first. Avoided the last three weeks of discomfort, max maternity leave and no stretch marks. I would not complain to have the same!

I missed out on antenatal classes due to covid. I'm going to ask my midwife what is about this time but I'm not too worried. There are classes and groups that meet up that I will go to.

I didn't take to the Peanut app but it did have a lot of local mums: it is popular enough to be useful.

Houseonthehills · 10/06/2023 21:04

17 weeks and still feeling blurghhhhhh I think dairy is the main contributor to my sickness so trying to avoid

medicmumma · 10/06/2023 21:06

@CliniMama @PinkPlantCase Yeah it seems like a good way to meet local people. I think I'm going to sign up to the Happy Parents Happy Baby in my local area (Bump and Baby is sold out and NCT is long days on Saturdays and don't really want to give up my last few weekends being a free woman!).

really surprised how quickly the classes have filled up - the next one left is the October classes which finish like 1 week before my due date eek

LeeanneD11 · 10/06/2023 22:39

Does anyone have any experience on gender scans private ones.? How accurate are they and at what weeks are they accurate I'm looking to book one . I'll be 16w+2 days will that be accurate too see baby gender .

Thank you ❤️❤️

WhiteJasmin · 10/06/2023 23:15

@LeeanneD11 I heard at or after 20 weeks is best to see gender during the scan.

CliniMama · 11/06/2023 00:29

@LeeanneD11 it’s usually pretty accurate though to be honest, it is down to the sonographer and whether baby plays ball on that day. Our sonographer was able to tell at our 12weeks. They only told me what they thought baby might be because I let on that I work in healthcare and was already pretty confident as to what I thought baby was from previous scans. My friends twins were misgendered at a scan she had at 12weeks but they got it right at 16, though they were smaller.
Just make sure you go somewhere reputable with good reviews.
