Hello 😁

Is there a thread for babies due February 2024 yet? I've just got my positive, although super early so not getting too excited.

Due 1 Feb / 31 Jan. I had irregular periods so hard to pinpoint exactly.

Hope to have others join me soon :) x

@Rachae all being well I will have 2 under 2. I’m just thinking of it as getting all the difficult bits over and done with at the same time. What worries you?

Rachae · 29/05/2023 21:45

@KittyKat1989 I like that way of thinking.. that's a good point! At least both still in nappies. It's more guilt I think... it will be difficult to give my attention to both - plus we have two gorgeous cats that are like children too. So it's a juggle as it is 🤣 Im scared of toddler tantrums whilst also having to hold/ feed a baby... But lots of time to research this stuff and get out strategies together! Also going to research best things to buy in advance to make our life easier. Converting one of our reception rooms into a playroom, for example, was an absolute godsend. Bet there's loadsa tips to be found! Xx

KittyKat1989 · 29/05/2023 22:05

@Rachae it will be nice for them to play together if they are close in age.

I’m looking into reusable nappies which in my mind will make my life easier.

I need to think about a double pram or pushchair too. I really regret not getting one that will convert now! I was convinced that we would be “one and done” when I was pregnant, but I was broody within a month of my daughter arriving. We TTC after my first PP period and here we are 🙈

A2003 · 30/05/2023 00:17

Hello :)
can I join too? Found out last week and we’ve both been a bit in shock to be honest! Due 31st Jan but other calcs say 4th Feb.
It’s my first pregnancy and I’m terrified of something going wrong :(
Have light cramping but by the look of others on here that seems normal?!

Rachae · 30/05/2023 07:36

@KittyKat1989 oh wowza that's an amazing age gap then! Yea I've fell the first month we decided to try.. thinking it might take a long time! Definitely on the double pram, we're looking for one too. I'm not sure on reusable nappies for us, as we tried them with Austin and he always seemed to pee through. Plus it actually seemed like more work as you have to do so much washing, plus put towels in the wash everytime, to increase the absorbance. Think I'll stick to good ol' pampers! How far along are you now?

@A2003 Hello and welcome 🤗 I'm sure it will be absent fine! Cramping is totally normal xx

Rachae · 30/05/2023 07:53

@KittyKat1989 the other thing is work! When are you planning on telling them? I'm finishing mat leave mid-July, so I think I'll have to tell them then to give them time etc. Dreading it though and I love my job! Hopefully they take it ok xx

KittyKat1989 · 30/05/2023 07:54

@Rachae I’ve found the same with the all in one reusable nappies - my little girl just wets through them really quickly. I’m going to try the inserts with separate wraps next I think. We went away for 3 weeks in April and seeing the number of nappies we needed all in one place was frightening! I’m 5 weeks today based on last period but I ovulated today so I think 4+4. How about you?

@A2003 congratulations! Cramping is completely normal. There’s a lot going on in there at the moment ❤️

KittyKat1989 · 30/05/2023 07:56

@Rachae i go back to work at the end of June. I only took 7 months off as I’ve shared it with my husband. I’ll tell them after the 12 week scan which I suppose will only be a few weeks after I go back. Have they hired maternity cover for you? I think giving as much notice as possible is best

A2003 · 30/05/2023 08:03

Thanks for having me and for the reassurance @KittyKat1989 and @Rachae ❤️ (also my username makes absolutely no sense - I wasn’t born in 2003… but not sure if I can change it 😂)

mashm24 · 30/05/2023 09:30

@Rachae I'm massively freaking out about having 2 under 2. My DH works such long hours so it's going to be really tough. Luckily my parents are close by.

@A2003 welcome!! Haha you should be able to change your username in your settings. Don't worry about the randomness though, mines totally odd! Cramping is completely normal 🥰 x

Thank you @mashm24 :)

SophSmall · 30/05/2023 10:03

Hi all, hoping I can join you. Positive test last week on the first month of trying. We expected it to take quite a while, so feeling very grateful as well as a little shocked!

Due 1st Feb, don't know any one else expecting so would love to be part of this group!

Congrats to everyone, excited to hear all about everyone's journey 😊

mashm24 · 30/05/2023 10:32

@SophSmall another due date buddy! Congratulations on your pregnancy!! Will this be your first baby? 🎉

Does anybody know what week the booking appointment usually happens? I remember with my DS1 I had mine at 5 weeks - but I do live in a quiet area so that's maybe why haha!

OP posts:
SophSmall · 30/05/2023 10:42

It's my first baby, so very nervous about everything that's going to come in the next year 🙈 My GP surgery told me to self refer to the midwife service as soon as I got a positive test and my booking appointment is at 8/9 weeks.

A2003 · 30/05/2023 13:30

Hey @SophSmall congrats! My first too :) similar due date to you as well and similar in that ours was a shock! Hope you’re feeling ok x

LalalaBubs · 30/05/2023 13:40

Hi everyone, can I join too? 3rd bubba, and I'm sure I'm 10/11dpo and my due date would be 7th Feb.

Noticed some light mucousy brown spotting yesterday and this morning and some streching type pains in my pelvic area.
I didnt have either of these symptims with my other 2 DC so I feel so on edge!

Really anxious to go for a 6wk scan, praying everything continues to go well for everyone🩵

Due February 2024!
Rachae · 30/05/2023 13:42

@KittyKat1989 lemme know if anything works! I had given up but like the idea of them eco wise. We had the tots bots bamboozle night nappy system. Tho I'm not sure I can justify any more washing! 🤣
Wow so back to work soon! I'm actually excited for going back, just not excited to let them know. They didn't hire as I'm part of a big department (I work in corporate tech) and sort of do a niche role. It's a bit awkward as they have me lined up for a job/promotion they need me to do.

No idea on due date as ovulation never showed on opks! Guess I'll have to wait until my 12 week scan- or maybe they can shed light next week on my 6 week one.

Questions on midwife.. I just self referred today with my local service. Much easier and quicker than waiting for GP xx

Greenergreenie · 30/05/2023 13:48

Hello! Pls can I join the gang?
positive test today.
second pregnancy.
hey mommas xxx

KittyKat1989 · 30/05/2023 13:50

@mashm24 my booking appointment with my daughter (call) was at 8 weeks but my midwife has booked this one (F2F) for just under 7 weeks. Maybe she’s on holiday the week after. I just text her directly as I still had her number from last year

JLC87 · 30/05/2023 14:15

So I think I originally calculated wrong and I'm actually due around 22nd Jan. Making me 6 weeks!!

Can I ask if anyone has been experiencing light-headedness and palpitations? I've rang the midwife service but they were really dismissive and told me to ring the gp as its unlikely to be pregnancy related and they won't deal with me until 16 weeks 🤯.

WafflesNCream · 30/05/2023 14:40

@mashm24 I’ve just self referred myself and apparently the booking appointments where I live are around week 12 😲 Sounds pretty late to me.
@JLC87 I feel dizzy/lightheaded, but no heart palpitations. Are you be able to get a GP appointment to get this checked? I’m sure it’s ok. So sorry the midwives were dismissive, you just want a bit of reassurance!

mashm24 · 30/05/2023 15:02

Hey @JLC87 I had palpitations with my first pregnancy and called the doctor for this. They told me that it's normal because of the increased blood flow etc and quite a few woman experience the same. Definitely double check though if you are worried!

mashm24 · 30/05/2023 15:02

Thanks for the info re the booking appointment. It looks like it can vary depending on where we are! Just want to get booked in and things rolling already, so impatient 😂

Greenergreenie · 30/05/2023 15:10

@JLC87 hi!! It could be sign of low iron in your blood. Call gp just in case xx

jamontoast2 · 30/05/2023 16:09

@JLC87 ive also had lightheadedness and palpitations but my IVF clinic just said the same about increased blood flow. The progesterone makes your blood vessels relax so your BP gets lower and your resting heart rate goes up. Mine is already up 15bpm based on my Fitbit.

I had my first blood beta test today - 202 which my clinic said they were very happy with but I guess I was hoping for a touch higher to be reassured by. I’ve got repeats on Thursday and Sat so we’ll see. My lines are getting darker though so I guess 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼:

Due February 2024!
