Hello 😁

Is there a thread for babies due February 2024 yet? I've just got my positive, although super early so not getting too excited.

Due 1 Feb / 31 Jan. I had irregular periods so hard to pinpoint exactly.

Hope to have others join me soon :) x

@mashm24 Thanks and thanks for setting up the thread! Mumsnet has been my lifeline in the past! I joined a Mumsnet thread FB group last pregnancy and we're all still on it now with our 10 month old babies. Some I've met in person/ call friends now.. it's lovely!

Well not sure still this morning... line is a smidge darker than yesterday, yet it's first morning urine. I think tomorrows test will be the definitive. Hope everyone's doing well 🥰.

Due February 2024!
Harriet669 · 27/05/2023 08:55

@Rachae @drjodiyogi congratulations 🤍🤍
@Rachae looks like lovely progression there 🥰

jamontoast2 · 27/05/2023 13:42

Can I join too please. I tested positive on Wednesday but I’ve been quite nervous as we had IVF and I’ve had a chemical and an early miscarriage before, but so far my line progression is looking ok, hoping to get some reassurance with my bloods next week. I’d be due around Feb 6th. First baby for us.

MamaA8146 · 27/05/2023 13:46

Hi, I tested last night 5 days before my missed period. I have pretty strong lines surprisingly but still cautious. Would be due 7th Feb I believe!

Due February 2024!
Rachae · 27/05/2023 20:18

@jamontoast2 ahh wow fingers crossed for you! I've had IVF 4 times but it never worked, had all natural pregnancies/MC's ... I know how hard the IVF process is and so absolutely delighted to hear about your line progression xx

@MamaA8146 that's amazing! Similar to mine now at CD32!

Wondering if the line will progress for me tomorrow morning. We're such in limbo as didn't really think through trying for another when our son is only 10 months. 🤦🏼‍♀️ I guess as it took us 4 years to get him.. we thought it might take longer than one DTD on the first month of trying! Not sure how I feel at the mo about either outcome xx

WafflesNCream · 28/05/2023 02:14

Brilliant line progressions ladies!
@Rachae @jamontoast2 I’ve gone through months of fertility treatment and find it really difficult to just relax and be happy now I’ve got a BFP. I can’t help feeling anxious something will go wrong.
How’s everyone feeling? I’m 5 weeks today, still no major symptoms apart from a bit of cramping.

jamontoast2 · 28/05/2023 06:03

@Rachae yes it's so tough, I didn't realise just how much so before we started. This is our last embryo and we didn't really have a plan for making more afterwards so I'm really hoping this one sticks around! Also I can totally see how you'd be feeling a bit uncertain at the age gap - not because it's bad, but if you had years to think about trying to get pregnant with your first, and then you basically just start trying for number 2 expecting a big wait and BAM - you're a fertile myrtle from nowhere! You must've barely started thinking about the idea of number 2 and now that reality has really come home. I think totally normal to spend some time feeling uncertain and turning it over in your mind. Happy to talk it though if that helps.

@WafflesNCream I think that's such a typical hangover from fertility treatment. You just get so used to it being bad news again and again that of course it's really hard to settle into a 'good phase', especially when it's still so early. I'll be really keeping everything crossed that it all keeps going well. Seems like there are a few of us on this thread who've been through fertility treatment so hopefully we can all lean on each other.

@MamaA8146 would be exciting if it's twins?!

mashm24 · 28/05/2023 07:04

Welcome to everyone who's joined! Sorry I'm away at the moment if I'm a little quiet. Completely understand everyone's anxiety, these early weeks are super super worrying. Plenty of rest for us all! Wishing for sticky healthy babies for us all.

How's everyone's symptoms? Is anyone suffering from insomnia? I keep waking up around 3am and can't seem to get back to sleep again!! Then little man is up 6, I'm so tired. My whole body feels heavy 😴

Rachae · 28/05/2023 07:19

@WafflesNCream thanks ☺️ I totally understand the fertility treatment/ anxiety in general. My whole last pregnancy was like that and I had 21 scans in total! Contrary to popular opinion... I think scanning regularly really helps with the anxiety. Or it did me! All my fingers crossed for you.

@jamontoast2 you've nailed it.. yep exactly how we're feeling! Going out for a Sunday roast today to discuss as I think we're still in shock really.

@mashm24 similar to me on the tiredness and early waking!

A note on symptoms... Just to reassure anyone... Don't worry at all if you get none! All I got in my successful pregnancy was tiredness and insomnia. No sickness/ nausea/ classic ones at all! In the ones that didn't work out, I got some classic ones. Don't worry xx

Harriet669 · 28/05/2023 07:20

@mashm24 hope you're having a lovely time away!
I'm waking up at 6 sharp every morning which is new to me 😂 fiancé finds it Ver annoying but I've told him I'm just starting the training for him getting up 😂 taking advantage and walking the dog before it gets too warm

Rachae · 28/05/2023 07:20

Looking promising now as i think the line's definitely progressed! Got my 6 week scan a week on Tuesday xx

Due February 2024!
MamaA8146 · 28/05/2023 07:21

@jamontoast2 My mum is actually a non identical twin so I've thought about it! But who knows? Praying for the best of health no matter how many are in there🙂

@mashm24 I'm in the exact same boat, been waking so early and struggling to fall asleep again. Not sure if its because its getting warmer too?

MamaA8146 · 28/05/2023 07:22

@Rachae beautiful line progression! It always feels so much more 'real' once you start getting appointments in the calendar!

mashm24 · 28/05/2023 07:26

@Rachae that sounds like a dream pregnancy! Great line progression as well!! Can't wait to see little bean on your scan photos. I'm not sure I can hold out til 8 weeks now.

@Harriet669 hahah if he thinks 6am is early he's got another thing coming 😂

@MamaA8146 ahh yes, that probably is playing a part! And much lighter earlier now too.

OP posts:
Rachae · 28/05/2023 07:40

@mashm24 thanks haha.. no symptoms... But I did get gestational diabetes, preeclampsia and have to have surgery for a short cervix at 20 weeks. Haha I think that was my punishment for no morning sickness!
Ahh 8 weeks isn't too long to wait now ☺️ xx

mashm24 · 28/05/2023 08:00

@Rachae oh gosh bless you. That must have been so stressful. Can I ask what surgery you had for your short cervix please? I've had a chunk of my cervix removed after abnormal cells since having my DS1 - so I'm a little nervous about this happening to me as well.

OP posts:
Rachae · 28/05/2023 08:09

@mashm24 ahh ok.. same thing happened to me. So I'd urge you to tell your midwife asap so they can refer you to a consultant. We got caught in a NHS process/ time delay and it could have been resolved earlier. I'd had abnormal cells removed and so naturally, my cervix was shorter. They didn't scan me though until 19 weeks and by that point, it was really short. They advised me to take Progesterone and wait and see - again, I wished id just pushed to have the surgery. By 20 weeks, they scanned again and it was so short that I was about to give birth. So they did an emergency stitch. I don't wish this on anyone tho, as we had a 48 hour wait after surgery, as there was a risk of miscarriage.

In summary... Get the midwife on it asap and get the cervix scan booked in as soon as! Xx

WafflesNCream · 28/05/2023 08:33

@Rachae Great line progression! I agree regarding scans, I’ve just booked my first one for next Sunday. I’ll be exactly 6 weeks then, so it’s the earliest one I could get!
@jamontoast2 I’m glad I’m not alone feeling like this. It’s been pretty much constant bad news for the past 1.5 years, so it’s hard to believe in the good ones.
@mashm24 I woke up at 3am last night and couldn’t fall asleep till 6
@MamaA8146 keep us updated if it’s twins!

mashm24 · 28/05/2023 09:11

@Rachae oh my gosh!!!!!! Do you know what week they would usually scan to check cervix length? I've not been assigned a midwife or anything yet. Not sure how long the referral process takes in regards to hitting a booking appointment :(

OP posts:
Rachae · 28/05/2023 10:20

@mashm24 don't worry, you've got tons of time! I think weeks 14+15 from memory but worth checking. The important thing is to get them to take it seriously from your booking in appointment to get 'in the system' early. I got fobbed off and told it would be highly unlikely I'd have a short cervix... But I did! So say anything you can to get a consultant/ get the scan xx

KittyKat1989 · 28/05/2023 10:39

Exciting to hear about the scans. I’m going to book one for when I think I’ll be 8 weeks, but I’m not completely sure about dates as I’ve only had one PP period. @WafflesNCream at 6 weeks I think they’ll only be able to check location and it’s unlikely that you’ll be able to see a heartbeat, so don’t worry if that happens. Also, go with a full bladder but they might still need to do an internal scan to get a proper look.

In terms of symptoms, I’ve only had exhaustion and insomnia so far. That’s fun with an almost 6 month old 🙃 though today I’ve woken up feeling hungover (nauseous and headache) so that’s reassuring.

Harriet669 · 28/05/2023 11:59

How lovely a lot of us will have scans at a similar time! We'll have to share them on here 🥰 I'm having one at 7 weeks as I'm going on a hen do and will have to tell me friend who's hen it is and try and hide the fact I won't be drinking 😂

@mashm24 I know' he's in for a shock with early mornings, he's such a night owl 😂

Big hugs to those who've had fertility treatments etc, it must be so strange now what to do with the time, we tried for - year and half, so no where near what some of you guys have, and I've now realised how consumed I was by it all!

RegardingPersephone · 28/05/2023 15:13

Hello! I tested positive on Friday! According to Flo, I'm due 3rd February. I've had a previous early miscarriage last month and during that my lines never got really dark (like the control line) but were there so will be checking progression obsessively I think. Feeling nauseous and exhausted today but happy to be pregnant today!

mashm24 · 28/05/2023 16:07

Hey @RegardingPersephone- congratulations to you! Sorry to hear about your previous loss Flowers

Interesting a few of us are experiencing insomnia already!

I got worried earlier as I felt completely normal. Nausea went, no sore boobs today. I took two more tests to make sure and the test line has got super dark so hoping it's all okay.

Who will be finding out the sex and who's going to keep it a secret :-)? X

Due February 2024!
OP posts:
jamontoast2 · 28/05/2023 16:28

Its so funny that the insomnia is a symptom - I’ve been waking up at 4am every day really perky and ready to start the day, I assumed it’s because I’m taking steroids, it never occurred to me that it was a pregnancy symptom. I absolutely crash at 8pm though.

@mashm24 thats a really dark line! Are you 6 weeks now? I’m really hoping for a nice dark line like that soon 🤞🏼

We have already decided that we definitely won’t be finding out the gender as this whole process has been so unromantic and medicalised with IVF that we feel like it’s the one true surprise left. We’d genuinely be thrilled with either too. But my OH is a radiologist so can read the scans so I think will have to spend a lot of time looking away from the screen!

But I would be so curious to know if other people are finding out and getting the harmony test. It’s amazing that you can know so early!

@RegardingPersephone congrats! So sorry about the miscarriage ❤️
