Hello 😁

Is there a thread for babies due February 2024 yet? I've just got my positive, although super early so not getting too excited.

Due 1 Feb / 31 Jan. I had irregular periods so hard to pinpoint exactly.

Hope to have others join me soon :) x

@AmyA64 Yes I had mine last Tuesday it was just a load of questions really. My scan is booked for 28th July. I felt relieved to make it to 8 weeks as the MC happened just before, then the anxiety kicked in again not long after! My husband is totally chill too, its entirely different for them, they don't understand lol.

I wouldn't kid yourself into wishing for symptoms though, as you can still have these with a MMC, so it means absolutely nothing. I've read of people have all the tell tale symptoms of pregnancy and sadly ending up in MMC, others having no symptoms and having a healthy baby. It means absolutely nothing.

I'm against them, but would a private scan ease your anxiety?

Ah I bet you can’t wait for your scan on 28th! Yep hubbys really don’t understand in the way we do, reading into every single thing to do with our bodies.

it has been a big relief reading about others not having symptoms and still having healthy bubbas. I wasn’t planning on getting a private scan, but i depending on what happens tomorrow at my booking appointment I will book one if I’m not booked in for an early reassurance scan. Some answers would massively help with my anxiety and racing mind.

AmyA64 · 05/07/2023 20:29

Thank you @MrsC2711, that’s really reassuring that there are others with no symptoms. Got to love the honesty of children, but maybe your eight YO has a spidey sense! I’m so pleased you’ve had more positive news recently too, I’ll keep everything crossed for you x

AmyA64 · 05/07/2023 20:33

Thank you so much everyone for your super reassuring replies. It’s made a world of difference hearing others are also symptomless (or have been in previous pregnancies) and are growing healthy bubbas. This is my first pregnancy, and my only experience and frame of reference are friends who had all the typical pregnancy symptoms so I just assumed it was a sign something was wrong. I’m definitely feeling more positive about my appt tomorrow. I’m so pleased I found this community x

BabyKing20 · 05/07/2023 21:09

@AmyA64 glad you’re feeling a bit better now, the best of luck with your scan tomorrow!! ✨

MrsC2711 · 05/07/2023 21:22

@AmyA64 thank you beaut

and huge good luck for tomorrow ❤️

Not gonna lie I'm pretty jealous of those with minimal symptoms as it's taking a combo of cyclizine, promethazine and omeprazole to stop me vomiting, and even then I'm still struggling with nausea on and off from lunchtime onward.
But I know two people who didn't know they were pregnant until 16 weeks as no symptoms and irregular periods. Got to skip the anxiety of the first trimester also for added benefit!

xTinkerbell · 05/07/2023 22:53

Had my scan this evening! All looking good. She’s dated me 6 days ahead of my LMP dates which I expected because I have short cycles.

Only concern I have is that would make my 12 week scan 13&5 which is very close to the cut off for down’s syndrome screening

That sounds awful, hope you’re ok x can I ask please how far along you were when you started with the vomiting? I’ll be 7 weeks tomorrow and have some on-off nausea, mainly triggered by some food aversions, and I’m anxious of proper vomiting hitting me as I’m on holiday x

Happy Good Morning GIF

@Bali200 so I started vomiting around 5.5 weeks and started meds about 6 weeks I think when was 2-3+ voms/day.
But I find the nausea alone is still pretty debilitating. I would try get an appointment with your GP and ask for meds to take with you as a bit of safety-net?
I'm trying to keep on top of it as I vommed all the way from 5 weeks through to 39 weeks in my first pregnancy and that left me with permanent reflux and dental issues 😥

Good news on the scan! Maybe ring the ultrasound department and see if they have anything a bit sooner? At booking my midwife gave me a list of numbers including the number to contact about scans so could be something to try?

Ihatewinding · 06/07/2023 08:09

Whoops don't know how that gif got in hahaha on my phone with fat fingers 😂

CalFairy89 · 06/07/2023 08:22

I feel a wuss, I’ve had to call in sick to work and asked my GP for advice because the 24/7 nausea, wretching (sorry) and dizziness is awful and I’m struggling to eat. Has anyone been prescribed anything for severe nausea without the vomiting? Although maybe that’s still to come!

AbsolutePlonker · 06/07/2023 10:47

@CalFairy89 I'm thinking of calling my GP about it tomorrow. I've been sick once or twice in the mornings, normally if I eat/snack regularly it seems to keep the actual vomit at bay, but it's the 24/7 nausea that's getting to me.

I'm 9+1 but felt bad since 7 weeks - and it's getting worse!
I have a gig tomorrow night that's a 2hr drive away - not sure how i'm going to cope with 5+ hours on feet. I agreed to drive us home too, so everyone else could drink. I have serious regrets :(

Hawk90 · 06/07/2023 14:03

Is anyone else wondering why no one ever mentions how bad the first trimester can be? Like no other mum I know when I;ve told them has gone, oh shit I'm here if you need something and told you a world of secrets.

I'm 8 weeks and in so much pain everytime i move or cough, the nausea is actually constant and the food aversions are ruining my life. My partner doesnt seem to know how to do things to make me feel better without me physically spelling them out. I'm just being told im being boring and quiet lol

How are we supposed to work full time jobs and keep a home running when we feel this exhausted.

Rant over sorry.

Probably because the last one is worse and more memorable 😂

I think you've been really unlucky (as I have been in previous pregnancies).

Some people don't get any symptoms at all and just feel their normal self.

Meeting · 06/07/2023 14:22

@Hawk90 I'm totally with you on that one! The food aversion is wild for me, I've had to throw food away because I couldn't stomach to see it when I opened the fridge. DH thinks I've gone crazy haha. Honestly I salute you because I'm a SAWH and I don't know how I could drag myself to work with the way I feel x

I am 100% with you here. I am a total wreck. Can’t do anything, can’t work, can barely parent my kids, constant nausea and vomiting , all food makes me sick 😭😭, I’m beyond exhausted and grumpy. Just feel like a shell of a human. The end of pregnancy is rough, but honestly I think these early weeks are the WORST

ttcat37 · 06/07/2023 16:36

I should probably be grateful that I currently don’t have any nausea or vomiting but it’s quite worrying having no symptoms. I am more tired than usual but that’s about it. I’m 8+1 and wondering if I’m just going to stay like this? I have been pregnant before but only until 5+4 and the nausea was horrific, so I really feel for you ladies who are experiencing this. But this time nothing? How come it’s so different this time? I had an early scan as I just didn’t feel pregnant and all was well.

Hawk90 · 06/07/2023 16:58

@ttcat37 oh im 8+1 too :) Valentines babies

anony1111 · 06/07/2023 17:00

@Hawk90 I'm due Valentine's Day too 😊

AbsolutePlonker · 06/07/2023 17:14

@Hawk90 I think no one says anything as they don't want to appear ungrateful or moany! Also, yes not everyone suffers.... Had lunch today with a friend who's 8 months and she STILL feels amazing. Whereas I'm 9 weeks and feel horrid 🤢 it's genetic unfortunately!
However with my last pregnancy I started to feel good at about 16 weeks and then felt brilliant all through my 2nd trimester xx

I hear you! I have 3 sisters who have all had children so I’ve seen a range of pregnancy but never did I think 1st trimester would be the worst. I’m 9+2 and can’t remember the last time I had a decent meal or opened my fridge without needing to gag. Lack of food, nausea and poor sleep means I’m generally exhausted all the time so moving like a sloth and not being very productive at all. Some say it eases as you go into the 2nd trimester but one of my sisters had nausea and food aversions for the full 9 months so I’m bracing myself for the worst.

In the moments I want to cry from exhaustion I have to remind myself the blessing or growing a life inside me and that no matter what, it’s worth it ❤️

mumtotwox · 07/07/2023 07:25

Have my scan today at 12pm. Feeling very nervous 😬

MrsC2711 · 07/07/2023 07:58

Good luck @Mumtobe2024 how far are you xx

MrsC2711 · 07/07/2023 08:01

Morning ladies;
sorry if TMI but had anyone DTD and bled?
I’ve had no bleeding so far this pregnancy just the uncertain scans but blood results raising as they should and next scan booked for Monday.
so I bled last night straight after and there was a little there as I wiped throughout the night but nothing there this morning. Very pinky and no pains.
I did some Googling and all mentions normal and changes in the cervix etc but it didn’t half worry us! Safe to say it’s put us off for a few weeks I reckon 😔
