Hello 😁

Is there a thread for babies due February 2024 yet? I've just got my positive, although super early so not getting too excited.

Due 1 Feb / 31 Jan. I had irregular periods so hard to pinpoint exactly.

Hope to have others join me soon :) x

@xTinkerbell I know how you feel, I keep feeling anxious.
I’ve no real reason too as I feel pregnant and have lots of symptoms, plus all was ok at my scan last week but after two recent mmc along with other mc I feel like I’m just waiting for something to go wrong.
The only way my mind would be at rest is daily scans which obviously isn’t possible or sensible.
I just try not to think about it which is hard.

MaryinSussex · 05/07/2023 09:33

Hi, everyone! How long did you wait until you receive your first appointment with a doc or scan? I'm 7 weeks pregnant (if counting from my 1st day of last period) and due in Feb, registered last Monday and still hasn't received any doc appointments, just an invitation to create Badger Notes account. Who should I call to check?
Thank you!

Whataretheodds · 05/07/2023 09:39

@MaryinSussex that sounds fine, you only registered a week ago, you know you're in the system as you've received the Badger Notes invitation. No issues unless you have pain, bleeding or any other issue?

MaryinSussex · 05/07/2023 09:54

@Whataretheodds no issues so far, but I dont know who to call if something happens

I got a call about a week after filling in the midwife form, mines next week when I should be 9+2.

MaryinSussex · 05/07/2023 10:34

@Meeting thank you. I will wait then

Ebonythoughts · 05/07/2023 11:59

9+2 weeks today and nausea has definitely ramped up. Last blood test showed I don’t have enough protein in my diet and I’m sure that 2 weeks of plain baked potatoes and cucumber hasn’t helped but can’t bring myself to go near meat, chicken, fish, eggs or anything that seems to have smell or flavour at all 🤢

Is anyone else struggling to sleep too? Until I was about 7 week I was napping all the time but since the nausea kicked in I can’t seem to get in a sleeping position that shouldn’t make me feel more nauseous.

I run a business and I feel like I’ve been completely neglecting it for the past 2 weeks because I’m just on survival mode 🤷🏿‍♀️

@Ebonythoughts ugh, hopefully it's just 2-3 more weeks til your placenta takes over and you start to feel better. Not nice.

I'm veggie so have managed some salted edamame beans, peanuts, and bland plain cheddar cheese for protein. Sometimes some haricot beans with peas, and a tin of tomatoes. Last night I managed a junkie beyond meat burger which has so much protein. Weirdly the unhealthier the food is the better I can tolerate it. Do any of those appeal? It's so tough, but it's just a few more weeks hopefully

Ebonythoughts · 05/07/2023 13:39

Thank you @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 ill try the plain peanuts and see how that goes. I have tried to have means with my baked potatoes but didn’t work out so well. It really does seem to be only bland food staying down. Praying the next 2-3 weeks go fast and it settles after that.

@Whataretheodds no issues so far, but I dont know who to call if something happens

111 can help with symptom triage- if you have bleeding or pain then contact your local EPU.

Hopefully you won't need to see anyone til your booking in appointment!

AmyA64 · 05/07/2023 14:51

Hi all. Just looking for some reassurance or anyone experiencing the same symptoms, or lack of in my case. I have my booking appointment tomorrow and I'm 8 weeks today, but I don’t have any of the tell-tale pregnancy symptoms. I had sore boobs for a week or so 6-7 weeks, tiredness and cramps and twinges but they’ve all subsided in the last week. Other than the five positive pregnancy tests I’ve taken, the latest being yesterday, I’d have no clue I was pregnant. I’ve not had any bleeding or spotting, so no obvious sign of a miscarriage either. I’ve been reading a lot about missed miscarriages and chemical pregnancies and my anxiety is through the roof. I feel like I’m in total limbo not knowing what is happening inside my body, and I’m trying to gear myself up for bad news after tomorrow’s appointment. Anybody else had next to no symptoms and still had good news?

Strawberry06 · 05/07/2023 14:59

@AmyA64 I could have written this myself! It's my worst fear, though I refuse to have a private scan. I am the same as you in that my only symptoms are sore boobs (mostly nipples) and I'm very bloated. I did have lower back pain earlier on but that seems to have subsided. I was 9 weeks yesterday. I also had a MC in January and I had no symptoms then either.

I have come across a lot of stories about people not having symptoms and would not know they were pregnant. Its definitely more common than you think so try not to worry, easier said that done I know!

AmyA64 · 05/07/2023 15:08

Thank you @Strawberry06 and I’m so sorry you’re experiencing this too. I’m really sorry to hear you went through a MC. It’s agonising, I’m almost willing on some symptoms so I know things are more ‘normal’. It’s reassuring that no symptoms are more common than we think. My husband is so much more positive than I am, but it’s hard not to assume the worst. Have you had your booking appt yet?

Strawberry06 · 05/07/2023 15:14

@AmyA64 Yes I had mine last Tuesday it was just a load of questions really. My scan is booked for 28th July. I felt relieved to make it to 8 weeks as the MC happened just before, then the anxiety kicked in again not long after! My husband is totally chill too, its entirely different for them, they don't understand lol.

I wouldn't kid yourself into wishing for symptoms though, as you can still have these with a MMC, so it means absolutely nothing. I've read of people have all the tell tale symptoms of pregnancy and sadly ending up in MMC, others having no symptoms and having a healthy baby. It means absolutely nothing.

I'm against them, but would a private scan ease your anxiety?

Tilly18101 · 05/07/2023 15:37

@QueenieK im so sorry lovely - sending lots of love.

@AmyA64 i was the same with my first, no symptoms whatsoever ever. Didn’t even think to check I was pregnant, apart from my sense of smell being super sensitive I had no other symptoms and literally flew through pregnancy - still hiking miles, yoga, swimming, riding, you name it up to a few weeks before I gave birth. I now have a happy 18m old so please try not to worry.

this pregnancy for no 2 for example is kicking my ass!

MrsC2711 · 05/07/2023 15:45

Ladies… I’m back in the game!!
I had my blood test on Monday after only seeing yolk sac on scan and no heartbeat and dating me 2 weeks behind.
had further blood test today 48 hour later and they’ve more than doubled!! Going from 1696 to 3971! So rescan booked for next Monday.
@AmyA64 and @Strawberry06 I’m also the same as you two. Apart from having severe bloat (my 8 year old told me I looked pregnant on Monday!…. He obviously doesn’t know), sensitive smell and maybe a bit hormonal there’s nothing. I had indigestion really early doors but even that’s not really there now.
Fingers crossed for both of you but no symptoms isn’t necessarily a bad sign and maybe we are just lucky ;)
xx

xTinkerbell · 05/07/2023 15:58

@AmyA64 I had virtually no symptoms with my first two pregnancies. Drove myself crazy in my first pregnancy thinking the lack of symptoms would be bad news but I had two healthy little ones

Nemo145 · 05/07/2023 16:37

Has anyone had red spotting after a bowl movement?
I just went to the bathroom and sorry TMI but I had to push quite hard and then there was blood when I wiped but it wasn’t from my bum.
I’ve never had this before.
worried now and no scan till Tuesday 😩

Bali200 · 05/07/2023 17:12

That’s amazing news, have my fingers crossed for you! Xx

EMHME · 05/07/2023 17:47

@AmyA64 I'm 9+3 weeks and have had basically no symptoms. Around week 6/7 I had about a week of feeling bloated and occasionally slightly nervous but that's it. I haven't even had the sore boobs that everyone seems to get. I've had early reassurance scans through my EPU and baby is absolutely fine, measuring exactly right and heartbeat thumping away. 😃 The midwife said I must be one of the people that doesn't get strongly affected by the hormones, so maybe you are too.

EMHME · 05/07/2023 17:48
  • nauseous, not nervous. Must learn to proof read!!
Meeting · 05/07/2023 17:52

Honestly those who are having no symptoms, enjoy it while it lasts! Hopefully you're simply lucky and don't get any, that is pretty common. I'm on day 3 of not leaving the house and only eating random crap due to constant nausea, I understand it can feel reassuring to have symptoms but it's definitely not fun when they're this bad x

vvit · 05/07/2023 18:22

@EMHME I didn't have any symptoms until about 24 weeks with my first! Was the easiest pregnancy ever (shame he was worst sleeper and not easiest baby haha)

Def feeling more bloated and sore boobs with this one but very possibly because I'm on progesterone

BabyKing20 · 05/07/2023 18:22

I know it’s soo hard to relax, especially in the first 12 weeks but my first pregnancy was absolutely symptomless and I have a lovely healthy 3 year old. I honestly wouldn’t have known I was pregnant that time only for a missed period and a bump began to grow.! So I would try to be as hopeful as possible until your given reason not to be. (Easier said than done though I know) ❤️
This pregnancy has already been so different for me and I’m only 6+4 😮
