@Charlielechat that’s great news! So pleased for you, you must be so relieved!

Charlielechat · 16/06/2023 17:36

Thanks @Mushroo yeah very relieved! But think I'll definitely book a private 16 week scan in a few weeks for more reassurance. 8 weeks time is too far away!

99SR · 16/06/2023 17:43

@Charlielechat fab news.

Sorry to hear everyone’s sad news ☹️ I can sympathise, many of us have experienced loss in this group but it doesn’t make it easy. Sending lots of love.

Im having a bad mental health day today! Really anxious/nervous. Keep feeling like something will go wrong. My partner is away abroad for the football so I have more time to think which isn’t good! Does anyone else have days like this? Sounds weird but how am I supposed to know I’m still pregnant?? Symptoms have eased, don’t have a huge bump, it’s a mind field!

Charlielechat · 16/06/2023 17:56

@99SR I was feeling the exact same before the scan. Kept thinking I'd be one of the unlucky ones. Especially hearing others' sad news. I'm going to try stay positive for little bean though - all the stress can't be good for them!

Mushroo · 16/06/2023 17:58

@99SR i feel the same. I think I’m getting a bump but then I also think I could just be bloated?! Especially as I feel fine.

I have a private scan tomorrow for my NIPT test so at least not too long to wait.

Charlielechat · 16/06/2023 18:13

Good luck @Mushroo ! I definitely don't have a bump yet, just a little podgy belly 😂

Mushroo · 16/06/2023 18:32

@Charlielechat thank you! I’ve convinced myself it’s a bump but the giant plate of fish and chips I’m eating suggests otherwise 😂

17caterpillars1mouse · 16/06/2023 19:23

We went for a 16 week reassurance scan today and decided to find out the sex as well. It was obvious anyway, I knew before she told me, but after two girls we are having a little boy. Not quite sure what to do with a boy after 7 years of raising girls

Rainbowdust557 · 16/06/2023 19:26

@SunSparkle I'm so sorry to hear that. It's just so unfair. Wishing you all the best for the future though. Take care of yourself. x

Big hugs to all the other ladies who have had bad news recently- it's heartbreaking. Wish you didn't have to go through it 😢 x

Georgia31 · 16/06/2023 21:56

My heart goes out to all those who have had the worst possible news. It truly is the hardest thing anyone can go through. 12 months ago, I went through the same thing, I wish I could say it's easy, but it's not. Be kind to yourself, how you feel matters and you're not alone.

We might all be strangers, but the support and love of this group, to help with the highs and lows, really is something special. Don't forget you're not on your own.

Sending everyone on here, my love tonight 💜💙

smldnlove · 17/06/2023 09:31

@Charlielechat Oh I was thinking of you yesterday too! Glad your scan all went well, so pleased.

Mine also went really well and all is healthy and normal which we’re relieved about - feeling so grateful too. It all feels so real now. I was convinced it would be bad news so just thankful today. Are you doing NIPT? Xx

Charlielechat · 17/06/2023 09:42

Ah brilliant news!! @smldnlove
I'm in NI so I'm not sure how different everything is, but I'm going to book in for a quad test and then take it from there. What are you thinking?

smldnlove · 17/06/2023 11:25

@Charlielechat Did you get a combined test with your 12 week scan in NI? I’m really unsure, they seemed happy with results from scan but awaiting bloods. I think I’ll see if I get a call about being high risk next week from bloods, if we do then I’ll get the NIPT. How much is it for your quad test in NI?

Charlielechat · 17/06/2023 11:45

@smldnlove No combined test, I think NI is really backward as terminations are illegal here, so they probably don't routinely offer much!
It just says that if your quad test comes back as high risk then you'll be offered further diagnostic tests. Quad test here is less than £30. Private NIPT is about £400. Really rubbish!
You think once you get to 12 weeks you're all good, but there's still so much to think about! 🤯

DaisyMay25 · 17/06/2023 14:48

My dad has sent me sone baby clothes over from Australia, I'm very excited to see when it arrives! I'm 13 weeks tomorrow so almost a third through which is crazy!!

@Charlielechat I'm surprised they offer quad there with it only testing for Down's syndrome you'd think combined would make more sense...

Mushroo · 17/06/2023 15:03

Private scan went really well! Baby was so wriggly and measuring bang on what I thought at 12 weeks - due date 30 December!

Bloods taken for NIPT so just need that to come back ok and can tell people!

Charlielechat · 17/06/2023 15:03

@DaisyMay25 the info for my trust here says that the quad test checks for risk of Down’s Syndrome, Edward’s , Patau’s and neural tube defects

DaisyMay25 · 17/06/2023 15:04

@Charlielechat very interesting! My trust quad is just down's syndrome
Combined tests for everything

Charlielechat · 17/06/2023 15:09

Congratulations @Mushroo that's great news!

Mushroo · 17/06/2023 15:34

@Charlielechat thank you! Very pleased 😃

RG84 · 17/06/2023 15:44

Pleased ladies your scans have gone well. Such a relief.

I feel like only on the 14th June I had my 12 week scan and on Monday I'm turning 14 weeks!

Haven't been feeling great today, sugar levels have been high and making me blaa. I have to test my sugars 4 times a day for the whole pregnancy. I have a follow up appt regarding the sugar on the 28th June.

16 week appointment on the 3rd July.

Time is moving fast but I can't wait to start buying bits once I know the gender.

@DaisyMay25 super sweet for your dad to send you over some bits and bobs, bet you can't wait! :)

Mushroo · 19/06/2023 11:06

I’ve got myself in a proper panic about my 12 week scan tomorrow. I’ve been looking at the scan pics from Saturday and I’ve convinced myself there’s a large amount of fluid at the back of the babies head :(

The sonographer on Saturday said everything looks good, and she didn’t see anything to worry about but not sure if she was just saying that?

I’m now scared I’m going to get bad news tomorrow afternoon and I’m obsessing.

Take a deep breath.
Being pregnant is scary and you can always think of a million things that are wrong.
I think scans are impossible to interpret because we have that one little snap shot.
Your baby is safe where it is and you will have all the measurements taken tomorrow.
I just keep on thinking that with all the love and will in the world, we can't control it.
I'm with you, I'm stressing as I've got my scan on Wednesday. But I can't control it. So I'm keeping everything crossed that my little Disco is okay and I can tell people at the weekend/ next week at work when I see my boss again.
You've got this mama! Xx

Mushroo · 19/06/2023 11:29

@Clucket87 thank you for being so kind - I needed that, Pregnancy is the worst isn’t it.

Deep breaths for tomorrow and I’m going to step away from google….

Clucket87 · 19/06/2023 11:35

@Mushroo pregnancy sucks.
We feel like crap for what feels like a lifetime. We worry about every little thing. We have no control over it. We have to think about everything we eat and drink.
To be honest, having a baby is a bit of a mind f**k.
But I promise you, it is all worth it.
I remember being in labour and walking around a car park stating that I was never doing this again. What were mine and DH mums thinking doing this 3 times. He was never coming near me again.
But within 8 months I was desperate to have another.
I feel more anxious this time than I did the first time but I think it's because I know more.
However, step away from Google! It is great in so many ways but in others it is scary.
Just think, women have been having babies for millenniums and didn't get have the tests we do. It is a blessing and a curse!
What time is your scan tomorrow so I can be on the look out for your fab post when everything is okay? Xx
