I’m due 3rd December 🤍

DaisyMay25 · 15/06/2023 05:36

@Mushroo I'll be able to get smp thankfully but wanted the nice enhanced one, was pretty much full pay for half the year

RG84 · 15/06/2023 07:40

@DaisyMay25 oh i see..thats annoying but see what your hr say.

What's the enhanced mat pay? I feel like I'm living in another country haha..why don't I know about this? 😐

RG84 · 15/06/2023 07:46

@Mushroo @DaisyMay25 I've just had a Google regarding enhanced maternity pay. Even though I've been with the company for 7 years, I very much doubt they give enhanced mat pay. They didn't with my first pregnancy in 2020. Shame really as regular mat pay is nothing.

SMG1992 · 15/06/2023 07:54

Does anyone know if online antenatal classes are a good replacement for in person?

Flowers90 · 15/06/2023 08:39

Had my scan earlier in the week and all looking good. Due date moved from 28th December to the 25th. My daughter was 5 days late based on scan and 2 days early based on lmp. So we are secretly hoping we don't have an Xmas day baby!

SunSparkle · 15/06/2023 09:12

@Charlielechat my scan is tomorrow and I am full of dread. I was like this with my first. Totally convinced I’d had a missed miscarriage and all was fine with her. But I’m feeling it again. I just can’t shift the fear. I don’t even want to plan things for Father’s Day because I will be so upset if I get bad news.

Kat2022 · 15/06/2023 09:29

Sorry I’m not sure if I was clear on this. It’s the nhs correction you need as HR can’t overwrite the medical reports. You would need to go back to your OBG the hospital you had your scan and raise your concerns about the due date that you believe is incorrect. Ie you tracked your ovulation and you know exactly when you had intercourse so it’s not possible for you to conceive on that date based on the scan. I also wouldn’t give any medical report to my HR and manager until I’m passed 20 weeks after my second scan. in theory they don’t amend 12 week scan due date and it stays solid throughout your pregnancy but they do change it in some circumstances. Hope this helps.

Kat2022 · 15/06/2023 09:31

Basically there are two maternity pay 1. SMP - government one and 2. Company one. As an example my company will pay 6 months full pay and 3 months half pay if I’ve been with them for 26 weeks. Some companies say 50% after you’ve worked them for a year and then increases to 100% after 2 years etc. so if you’re entitled to company one then you get smp and your company tops up to full pay and when you’ve utilised smp then your company carry on paying you in line with your policy :-)

DaisyMay25 · 15/06/2023 11:22

@Kat2022 I work in antenatal which is where I've had my scan, I've spoken to people today and the dates cannot be changed. It just is what it is I guess. At least if I don't get enhanced maternity pay I don't have to go back after leave 😂

ThomasinaLivesHere · 15/06/2023 16:10

@DaisyMay25 Sorry about your maternity leave that’s such a shame as so close. At least with a c-section you have more certainty to plan as otherwise you might not know if you’d make the date you need.

Nclktnntt · 15/06/2023 16:24

@DaisyMay25 could you not use those 2 days difference as holiday you've accrued throughout the year already, then you've worked the full year to get maternity pay? That's really unfair if they penalise you for the sake of 48 hours. Hopefully your manager can help sort this for you if you can't get the dates changed at all.

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 15/06/2023 22:28

Had my 16 week midwife appointment today and got to hear baby's heartbeat 😍

So relieved, makes the wait for my 20 week scan more bearable. I have such a big bump now, its come out of no where!

SMG1992 · 16/06/2023 08:02

That's amazing @FlyingHighFlyingLow !
I have another scan booked at 16 weeks as am going to find out the gender early and also because it's such a long wait from 12 - 20 weeks!
I can defintiley notice a little bump forming but am ready for it to pop!

DaisyMay25 · 16/06/2023 08:52

@Nclktnntt I have to have worked for the company for a year so unfortunately that wouldn't work. It is what it is. They've said they can't tell me anything for sure until I give them a Matb1 anyway and that's not til august

SunSparkle · 16/06/2023 12:02

Not good news for us. Missed miscarriage. Baby stopped growing at 6 weeks which feels like such a betrayal from my body as my sickness has been so awful. Got to go discuss surgery tomorrow. Leaving the thread now but wish you all the best with your pregnancies and babies. I will be hugging my toddler extra tight later on.

ThomasinaLivesHere · 16/06/2023 12:10

@SunSparkle so sorry to hear that and extra cruel that you were suffering symptoms. All the best for the future.

FirstMondayInMay · 16/06/2023 15:09

So sorry, Sunsparkle! It’s awfully cruel how they make us wait 12 weeks for a first scan, leaving us in the dark when anything could be happening! Sending you lots of positivity for the future x

Charlielechat · 16/06/2023 16:59

My 12 week scan went fine so feeling very grateful today 🙏 How did you get on @smldnlove ?
