@rankin21 cysts are very common, I've got one on the front of my uterus apparently but only small. Should only be concerned if over 5cm and then you just have regular scans to check 😊

@Pitstop1986 youshould have a risk assessment as soon as they find out

Charlielechat · 07/05/2023 19:15

I told my boss this week so that I could get out for the scan, and I sometimes do heavy lifting at work too. She's been very supportive!

Charlielechat · 07/05/2023 19:16

@SMG1992 congrats on the positive scan! Great news!

Mushroo · 07/05/2023 20:03

I know I’ve mentioned this before, but does / did anyone else feel fine at 6 weeks?

Im 6w + 1 today and whilst I’m grateful I feel fine, I’d like a tiny bit of nausea or food aversion. I just ate a massive Indian takeaway no problem and could have happily had a beer (obviously didn’t)

I know everyone says it’s normal to not have nausea but I’d like something, I feel less tired and more normal by the day. The only ones I’ve got are sore boobs and still a bit more tired (had a nap today) but now sleeping through.

Wineisgreat · 07/05/2023 20:05

@Mushroo I was at a party yesterday and a lady had just had her 12 week scan (which was absolutely fine). She didn't have one symptom. Some people are just really lucky. It doesn't mean that something is wrong.

SunSparkle · 07/05/2023 20:12

@Mushroo I feel the same as you. I’m tired but I also have a 2 year old so hard to know what’s from toddler wrangling and what’s from pregnancy. But other than that, no real symptoms.

I really hope I’m just lucky but god it makes me worry. I have my booking in appt on Tuesday. I’m really hoping I get the same community midwife as I did last time as she was incredible and I saw her throughout my whole pregnancy.

Mushroo · 07/05/2023 20:15

@Wineisgreat @SunSparkle thank you both. It’s nice to hear some real life examples that I’m not alone in this.

I hope your appointment goes well @SunSparkle , I need to follow up on mine on Tuesday as it’s passed the deadline I should have heard back. I can’t wait to have a chat with a professional and offload my thoughts a bit! I really appreciate having this thread x

SunSparkle · 07/05/2023 20:25

@Mushroo i love these threads for sharing with people and knowing you aren’t alone!

im really looking forward to this booking in appointment being in person. My last was in Covid so on the phone. Very excited for this pregnancy to be a totally different experience tk my last. And having my partner at scans!

Mushroo · 07/05/2023 20:28

@SunSparkle oh definitely! It must have been so hard with all the covid restrictions!

At least you get to enjoy it more this time :)

Charlielechat · 07/05/2023 21:26

@Mushroo yeah I feel quite normal apart from sore boobs! I have gone off coffee now but it's not an aversion and I don't feel nauseous or anything. Can't help but feel a bit nervous about it but also I know a lot of people don't start getting sick until 7/8 weeks. So we may be eating our words soon 😂

Mushroo · 07/05/2023 21:28

@Charlielechat oh I know, I suspect I’ll read this back next week and hate myself 😂

I’ve also gone off coffee but more in a ‘don’t fancy it way’, if someone makes one I’ll drink it happily enough.

smldnlove · 07/05/2023 21:38

Maybe I will tell mine earlier then, seems like everyone is around 12 weeks. I get married at 12 weeks so may wait a few.

@Mushroo Funnily enough, I’ve had no symptoms and had 100% energy with just the sensitive boobs until my scan yesterday at 6w4days . Since yesterday I’ve been 100% exhausted, no appetite and feeling nauseous with any food I eat and dizzy spells. It has hit me like a lorry and feeling rubbish - no idea why or the relevance of the scan?!

Mushroo · 07/05/2023 21:45

@smldnlove i wonder if because it went well it feels a bit more real? That’s really interesting,
could be a massive coincidence but I bet seeing made it more real.

Justanothercyster · 07/05/2023 22:08

I'm so jealous you don't have any sickness or aversions 😒 I know it's worrying when you don't feel anything but make the most of it, my god I hate this so much 🤢

Mushroo · 07/05/2023 22:11

@Justanothercyster i know, assuming everything is ok so far I’ve been very lucky. It seems you either feel physically awful, or physically fine and then spiral into worry, there’s no winning.

I hope you start to feel better soon xx

Justanothercyster · 07/05/2023 22:20

There really isn't, it's such a rollercoaster! I'm convinced this one is a boy as I was nowhere near this sick with my girl lol. Try not to worry (I know it's hard), when do you have a scan?

Justanothercyster · 07/05/2023 22:20

Sorry, keep forgetting to tag! @Mushroo

Flowers90 · 07/05/2023 22:26

@Pitstop1986 . I told my work very early on, I'm only 6 weeks 4 days but told my manager at 4 weeks 5 days. I work in care and complete the risk assessments for my direct staff team. I already knew I could only do about 50% if my usual client group and would have to have other amendments. My risk assessment was completed within a week.

Mushroo · 07/05/2023 22:28

@Justanothercyster absolutely a rollercoaster! Can’t wait until the ‘lazy river’ phase 😂

I was hoping to hold out to 10 weeks but I’m going mad so might book something for 8 weeks. 2 weeks seems a better wait!

Pitstop1986 · 07/05/2023 22:33

@Flowers90 my work have known for about 6 weeks that I'm pregnant... I had to chase them up about it when pregnant with my daughter and I think that I finally got it around 15/16 weeks. It wasn't fair, as I had a very fainty pregnancy and I was constantly passing out whilst in the middle of work!

I'll get onto them and see if I can get one done soon!

Itonlytakesaminute · 07/05/2023 22:33

I have a small cyst on my right ovary but the nurse didn't say it was an issue and not to worry, I do have pain from that side at times though.

I realise this is irrational but we all get it drummed into us the 12 week point for sharing the news after the scan. However I go on holiday with family when I am 11 weeks 5 days, meaning my NHS scan isn't till I'm 13 weeks 1 day.
I really want to tell people the first night I'm away so have booked a private scan just before we go. That's alright isn't it?

Thank I just have the 12 week mark in mind and my brain is worrying telling people earlier than this - even though things can happen at any point I know. Told you it's irrational!

GingerJanee · 07/05/2023 23:58

@Mushroo I was like this until 6 weeks and then had nausea/vomiting on and off until this Friday which was just over 8 weeks. No sickness from Friday which is amazing because I’ve actually enjoyed food this weekend 😂 However the only food/drink I’ve really really wanted is full fat coke, great for the teeth lol. I’ve been extremely tired but no sore boobs/headaches/dizziness anything like that. Literally 2 weeks of mild sickness and nausea and constant tiredness since about 4 weeks which is still following me. I think symptoms will come and go I know some friends who only got morning sickness in the second and even third trimester. Don’t worry about the nausea and food aversions enjoy it now when it’s feeling okay 😁

Countingchicks · 08/05/2023 01:30

@Mushroo I was the same as you but then I got 7 weeks and I've been wiped out with all day nausea and some dizziness too. Due 1st or 2nd December so 10 weeks now and looking forward to being able to do stuff all day again. Extra tough as I have a 14 month old with me. Energy finally comes back around 7/8pm so I did some gardening this evening. The insomnia can do one...

Mushroo · 08/05/2023 08:04

@GingerJanee @Countingchicks thank you! I it reassuring to hear how different it can be. I know I need to stop obsessing!

FfoxRedN · 08/05/2023 08:14

@Itonlytakesaminute I would say that's a really good idea. Especially as you'll be away and presumably will be offered drinks etc. plus what a lovely way to tell everyone together 🥰. Some have their 12 week scans early so date wise I wouldn't worry about the few days difference. The private scan will just be a little less thorough but I'm sure everything will be fine xx
