@DaisyMay25 🫂🥰 lots of love and rainbow dust to you xx

wannabemum38 · 03/05/2023 13:39

@HannahLouD congratulations it's a lovely feeling isn't it. Your about same as me I'm 8+4 today my NHS dating scan is not til the 1st June so a month away I will try and stay positive until then seems a lifetime away!

@DaisyMay25 good luck for your scan

@smldnlove also taking pregnacare original every day will ask midwife how long I should take it for as don't know if you need folic acid after 12 weeks or not? But happy in knowledge I'm.getting lots of the vitamins I need even though they are quite pricey.

Mushroo · 03/05/2023 13:40

@HannahLouD amazing news! 🥰

@smldnlove I’m also just taking vit d and folic acid. I took pregnacare when TTC and it messed with my cycle a bit so now a bit paranoid about trying anything new. I eat quite well though so hopefully that’s enough.

The only craving I’ve had is fruit and veg which is so boring 🙄, I want some ice cream cravings to kick in!

SMG1992 · 03/05/2023 13:41

@HannahLouD That's so lovely! I'm so pleased for you and how you are feeling now!!

@smldnlove I'm taking Inessa pregnancy multivitamin, it's quite pricey but I really want to make sure I'm getting everything I need as I'm also veggie and went from taking Ovum pre-pregnancy which is another high spec vitamin. I also take vitamin D, 75mg of aspirin and calc fluor.
One of the best things in the Inessa sups is they contain methylated folate rather than folic acid, as a high percentage of women can't actually absorb the folate from folic acid.

HannahLouD · 03/05/2023 14:02

Ah thank you so so much everyone!! 😍 I feel like I can maybe start to get excited now!
The midwife who did my scan (and who has been in the job since 1983 so "knows her stuff" according to her 😅) told me that statistically seeing a heartbeat at 8+ weeks gives you around a 98% chance of things containing to a live birth... So I will absolutely take those odds! I know obviously the worst could stil happen, but at nearly 9 weeks I feel much more positive now. I'm going to try so hard to not let my anxiety ruin what should be an amazing time... Especially as I'm getting off mostly symptom-free! (Apart from having to go to bed at 8pm every night, that is 😅)

Really excited now to tell our parents this weekend... 😍

So grateful for this thread and for all you lovely, supportive ladies... Thank you so much everyone 🥰🤍✨

@DaisyMay25 good luck for this afternoon!! Thinking of you ✨x

HannahLouD · 03/05/2023 14:03

Oh and, I've been swapping between Pregnacare Original, Plus and Max (depending what's been on the best deal 😂) x

wannabemum38 · 03/05/2023 14:05

@HannahLouD I will take those odds definitely. Still sinking in for us and being at the antenatal clinic yesterday with varying bumps around me it started to feel real and feel so blessed.

Charlielechat · 03/05/2023 14:16

Congratulations @HannahLouD that is amazing news! And extra reassurance dating a few days ahead.

Charlielechat · 03/05/2023 14:22

@smldnlove I take Proceive Trimester 1, just because I was taking their pre-conception vitamins beforehand and wanted to keep my hormone levels consistent (probably being over-cautious). I've also been taking an extra 50mg of vitamin B6 and 750mg of vitamin C for the last few months as they're supposed to help with progesterone production (my luteal phase was very short so I initially was just trying to increase it) And I also take an extra 20ug of vitamin D.

Rainbowdust557 · 03/05/2023 14:46

@HannahLouD That is great news! So pleased all is going well and you got to see so much! 😁 Definitely great odds! x

smldnlove · 03/05/2023 15:24

Thank you all so much for your responses! So helpful to know as really is such a minefield knowing which are best.

I am probably going to continue with pregnacare max and maybe add Vit D back in and get some extra B12. I’ve got a midwife appointment on Monday so if my bloods come back low in something I may try the Inessa @SMG1992 thank you - that sounds really good!! X

DaisyMay25 · 03/05/2023 15:47

So, sac isn't empty which was my main worry, she saw yolk sac and potentially fetal pole. Sue thinks she did but didn't want to say 100% we possible saw a flickering heart too but again can't be 100% but what is 100% is that it's not empty!!!
Gotta go back next Friday and they're pretty optimistic I'll see a baby and heartbeat and will give me a photo
She's dating me a few days earlier so under six weeks which is probably why nothing was certain.
Just gotta make it through the 9 days now and I'm stupidly optimistic 😂

Charlielechat · 03/05/2023 15:59

That's really positive @DaisyMay25 congrats! Great that you have another scan booked in so soon too! 6 more days til mine 🙃

MomentOhm · 03/05/2023 16:06

@DaisyMay25 that's great news 😍 xx

wannabemum38 · 03/05/2023 16:18

@DaisyMay25 that's great news cross.fingers for your next scan

NoodleQueen90 · 03/05/2023 16:34

So nice to see some scan pics 😁 congrats. I'm trying to hold off until the 12 week one but I'm getting impatient now (7+6). My booking appointment is 17th May so trying to focus on getting to that, I'm sure the midwife said she would book in my 12 week scan at that appointment.
I'm planning on telling my mum and sister next week, it's my mums birthday on the Thursday and we're going to a ladies day on the Saturday...they know me too well to give any excuses for not drinking lol really excited for them to know though, it's only been 3.5 weeks since BFP and it feels like a lifetime! I fancy getting a silly t-shirt for me or OH to wear and break the news...has anyone else done anything like that?
Not sure who said they're craving meat but I'm the same...only wanted chilli con carne for lunch so went to asda to buy everything and made it from scratch, nothing else would do. Also double cheeseburgers from mcds have been popular. Put on so much weight already 🙈

Kracken · 03/05/2023 16:41

Hi everyone, can I join? I'm due on 26 December with my third, but have a massive age gap as my first two are 15 and 11. This is my first with my DP of 7 years, we were trying for 2.5 years and I had given up to be honest so over the moon to be pregnant now! I am a bit nervous mainly due to my age (43) but am trying to stay calm. I've read the whole thread and it's made me feel less alone, I'm not telling people until after my 12 week scan just in case so it does feel a bit isolating. But my partner is being amazing and I did tell my boss as have been so nauseous and exhausted I had to take some sick leave. Got an anti sickness medication prescribed today though which has taken the edge off.

Congratulations to everyone, such an exciting time if a bit of a rollercoaster!

PhyllisVance23 · 03/05/2023 16:49

@DaisyMay25 that's great! If it makes you feel any better, I had an internal at 5+6 and they didn't see ANY sign of a fetal pole or heartbeat. I freaked for the next 11 days... until my 7+3 scan showed everything fine and confirmed I was 5+6 when it showed just the yolk sac. Just goes to show having a scan under 6.5weeks can cause so much unnecessary stress! Confident you'll see your baby next time esp if they saw something faintly xx

wannabemum38 · 03/05/2023 17:17

Welcome to the group @Kracken I'm 42 and we had also given up hope and I was diagnosed with secondary unexplained infertility so this is a huge shock. We have told my parents as had an 8 week scan at weekend where little bean was beating away but not telling anyone else until after the 12 week scan. So hard really want to tell my bestie and my sister but just want to be sure it's all okay. How many weeks does that put you at then?

DaisyMay25 · 03/05/2023 17:51

Thanks everyone, I feel more optimistic after seeing the scan today. There was something there for sure I just know she couldn't be 100% because it was early.
My nausea has ramped up a bit today, I've almost thrown up twice but thankfully haven't.

@NoodleQueen90 I got a double cheeseburger from maccies after my scan 😂

Itonlytakesaminute · 03/05/2023 18:18

It really helps seeing that heartbeat, I feel much calmer today.

So glad your scan went well @HannahLouD , that 98% statistic is really reassuring too!

I have booked a private scan in 2 weeks, and then hope i find out my 12 week scan date at my booking in appointment on Friday

Kracken · 03/05/2023 18:30

Thanks for the welcome @wannabemum38, congratulations on your pregnancy and scan after what sounds like a difficult time. I am 6+1. I am wondering about booking a private scan. I self referred to the hospital a week ago but not heard anything back yet so no idea when my booking in appointment or 12 week scan will be. I totally understand you wanting to tell more people! It's so hard.

Right now I'm craving crisps, toast, meat but luckily also fruit so slightly healthier! Haven't made it to the gym for over a week though and can't see that happening unless the nausea improves but really want to keep as healthy as possible.

Justanothercyster · 03/05/2023 19:31

Awww @HannahLouD look at those little stumpies, congrats 💕

@MomentOhm isn't it funny what our bodies crave! I'm totally off meat, can't even look at it 🤢

Definitely positive @DaisyMay25 🤞🏼🤩

Welcome @Kracken !

SunSparkle · 03/05/2023 20:43

I’m finding I’m really struggling mentally at the moment. I’m 6 weeks tomorrow and I have no symptoms really.

with my first, I was already fatigued and off my food at this point and then my hyperemesis started at 7/8 weeks.

I keep thinking something must be wrong because I don’t feel like butt.

I know it’s still early days and I’m glad I can still eat and I’m not being sick but it makes me feel like something is wrong. I’m equal parts terrified of being as sick i was last time but also it was reassuring that everything was probably ok.

anyone else?

NYEbaby · 03/05/2023 21:10

Hello everyone, I have just signed up because I am looking for some advice. I’m waiting for a midwife to contact me after doing a referral.

I found out I’m pregnant ten days ago and have booked a private scan for next Thursday. My nhs dating scan is in June and I’m due NYE. Currently midway week 6.

Heartburn and peeing a lot are my symptoms.

I am taking folic acid from the GP but I am so overwhelmed by what I need to be doing! Can anyone please give me any tips on vitamins, nutrition anything!! I would be so grateful. This pregnancy is everything to us 🤍.

Thank you
