Thanks again to everyone and to everyone who has posted their congrats to me since! 😍🥰 Feeling so happy and positive and hopeful now ✨🤞

@DaisyMay25 glad things went well at your scan! I'm sure it was just too early and when you go back you'll see your little baby and its heartbeat 🤍 I hope the wait isn't too hard for you... Try and keep yourself busy and occupied as much as possible until then. Easier said than done though, I know.

@SunSparkleFirstly, I'm sorry you're feeling so anxious. I completely get it and have been an anxious wreck this whole time so far myself. It's only today after my scan at 8+5 that I'm finally trying to let myself relax and enjoy being pregnant! Anyway... Sorry if you have already read this, but I felt the same as you. With my daughter I was so sick from the get go... Literally every pregnancy symptom under the sun. This time round, I've had barely anyone symptoms at all. I have extreme tiredness most days and sore nipples on and off, but that's pretty much it. I haven't really "felt pregnant" at all. I was so convinced something was wrong as this time round is so different... But my scan today showed a beautiful little baby with a heartbeat and little limbs growing 😍 it honestly is true that every pregnancy is different. I know it's hard (and I'll try to take my own advice here too) but try not to compare yourself to others too much or any previous pregnancies you've had. Some people will be extremely unwell. Some will be pretty much fine. And it's ok either way.
I really hope you feel better about things soon though... Can you maybe book in an early scan for some peace of mind? x

SunSparkle · 03/05/2023 21:22

@HannahLouD thanks for sharing! It does make me feel slightly less loopy. I know friends have had pregnancies with no sickness or anything in first trimester and I always found that so weird as it was such a huge part of mine. And also that fear of the HG returning was one of the reasons we waited a bit longer before trying for a second because I was that scared of being that poorly again and it’s got over a 75% reoccurrence rate. But I should just count myself lucky for now. Definitely might look intk an early scan. If I’m 6 weeks tomorrow, when should I book for?

wannabemum38 · 03/05/2023 21:26

@SunSparkle I would recommend hold out for 8 weeks if you can you will see a lot more which will put your mind at rest more.

HannahLouD · 03/05/2023 21:32

@SunSparkle oh really? I didn't know that statistic! I had HG with my daughter and was hospitalised for a bit but absolutely no sickness at all this time... Odd 🤔 really does go to show all pregnancies can be different! This is certainly very different for me.

I agree with @wannabemum38 I had one at 6+2 at the EPU for pain and although I saw the little heartbeat (and it did reassure me a bit!) I feel much, much better seeing little one now at nearly 9 weeks... It's literally just a blob at 6 weeks but if you can leave it a couple more weeks you can see a lot more... It's mad how much they grow in such a short amount of time!

HappyPie82 · 04/05/2023 09:32

Has anyone one else completely lost their appetite?
I have some mild nausea and have thrown up twice but I just have no drive to eat, to when I do eat it taste rubbish and pappy and nothing appeals.
I've been forcing myself to eat something each day but its so wearing.
I'm usually a food fiend and will eat anything sweet or savoury.
I'm off out for afternoon tea this weekend and I'll be sad if it don't enjoy it!

Mummy1502 · 04/05/2023 09:34

@HappyPie82 yea my appetite is gone, can only seem to eat what I fancy, also forcing myself to eat, I did wonder how long the eating was going to last as in the beginning I couldn’t stop eating, I knew I would lose my appetite 😂 havnt thrown up but do get days of nausea x

wannabemum38 · 04/05/2023 10:37

@HappyPie82 yeah I'm having a bad week food wise. I was sick other night and since then just eating snack things and had a tuna toastie for tea last night. Just not feeling great this week. Meant to be going for a carvery Saturday night but not sure I will enjoy it now

OnNaturesCourse · 04/05/2023 11:15

Talking of only eating what you can - I've just driven youngest DC and myself to mcdonalds as all I can face eating at the moment is their chicken sandwiches with their coke (it tastes different than bottled stuff!)

Not sure if I'll manage to eat it or keep it down but you have to try whatever you fancy.

But definitely feeling the mum guilt especially as other DC at school!

Mummy1502 · 04/05/2023 11:31

@OnNaturesCourse ive been craving McDonald’s too x

Mummy1502 · 04/05/2023 11:31

Got my booking appointment for 29th may, will be 10 weeks then x

wannabemum38 · 04/05/2023 12:41

@Mummy1502 that's exciting!

Formaddict · 04/05/2023 14:31

I have been offered my booking appointment at 11 weeks. Is this normal? NHS website says it should be done by 10 weeks?

I feel that my trust is really struggling as they wouldn’t accept an EPU referral when I had bleeding as I needed at least two symptoms of miscarriage, despite the fact I have had miscarriages before.

wannabemum38 · 04/05/2023 14:56

@Formaddict that does seem a long time to wait I was under the understanding that the first blood tests needed to be done by 10 weks. You could call them up. Is there another hospital maternity unit you can go too or is that the only one local to you?

Formaddict · 04/05/2023 15:08

Thanks @wannabemum38 I’ve left a message with the midwife again. I didn’t think about going out of area. There isn’t anywhere else local but I would be willing to travel for this.

Pitstop1986 · 04/05/2023 15:09

@Formaddict my work have just asked me to move my booking appointment due to short staffing and when I tried to rearrange it they struggled to get me another one as they said it needed to be done before 12 weeks and I'm 10+4 now.

So I think that the cut off is 12 weeks (for my trust anyway), so you should be fine at 11 weeks

DaisyMay25 · 04/05/2023 15:36

I'm not sure there's a cut off for bloods, we get late bookers through, I hate to take booking bloods for someone that was 27 weeks the other day, even later sometimes.
I think the reason that 12 weeks is the cut off is for dating scan, I can't remember what gestation is the cut off for it. Also if you want an NT cut off is around 14 weeks, I can't remember the cut off for the quad.
My worry with your 11 week appointment is trying to get a dating scan, if it's anything like my trust they get booked up quickly

DaisyMay25 · 04/05/2023 15:43

Had to take bloods not hate to 🤦🏼‍♀️

SMG1992 · 04/05/2023 16:02

I've just booked another scan before my one on the 22nd. Booked for Sunday as I really want to be reassured that there is growth since my scan last Friday as I was a bit concerned that I wasn't as far along as expected.

I was 6 weeks last Friday so will be 7+2 on Sunday so will be good to see substantial growth.
I then have another booked on 22nd (9+3) before my 12 week NHS scan!!

I think I've gone a bit loopy, hoping Sunday will calm me down!

DaisyMay25 · 04/05/2023 16:04

@SMG1992 we all love scans here 😂 after one next week I'll probably book a private one before my 12 week one too. Hoping yours goes well on Sunday 😊 is it at EPU or private?

SMG1992 · 04/05/2023 16:08

@DaisyMay25 I really appreciate being understood here! I think my husband thinks I'm going mental

My next 2 are private before the NHS 12 week one. Personally I think the NHS ones are more thorough but I'm just after seeing some growth so hopefully private will be ok.

DaisyMay25 · 04/05/2023 16:09

@SMG1992 I don't think it's mental to be paranoid, especially in the first trimester. Do what you need to do to get through it, I'm hoping after the first trimester I calm down anyway 😂

Formaddict · 04/05/2023 16:11

Thank you @Pitstop1986 and @DaisyMay25

i had a private viability scan so I know my due date fortunately. I feel slightly better about the 11 week appointment but I will about the NT and Quad

SMG1992 · 04/05/2023 16:12

@DaisyMay25 I'm expecting to after the 1st trimester too so I hope in reality that happens for us... next month now at least

wannabemum38 · 04/05/2023 16:45

@DaisyMay25 I have nearly a month to wait til my 12 week scan I'll actually be 12+5 so seems a lifetime away. I can't afford to get another private scan though as my health insurance told me today they don't cover viability scans which sucks. I am trying to be positive etc its so hard I hope after 12 weeks I will calm.down also

Historyis · 04/05/2023 16:53

Hey everyone, I am due December, currently 6 weeks. Every morning this week I have felt nauseous, lathargic, extremely exhausted, racing heartbeat. Is this all normal? I am eating fine and sleeping fine. Honestly close to getting a sick line for work. Hoping I will get better soon!
