Those of you who mentioned anterior placenta - how many weeks are you?

Chanteuse · 27/04/2023 21:39

@NSx I’m 16+4

firstlittlefrazzleontheway · 27/04/2023 21:39

@NSx I'm 16+1

OrionNebula · 27/04/2023 21:42

@Chanteuse 8th October right? Mind you my first DD was 10 days late, really hoping this little lady doesn't keep us waiting as long!

VanillaOat · 27/04/2023 21:43

@chanteuse @firstlittlefrazzleontheway congrats on your baby boys!!!

@OrionNebula I’m having a girl!

NSx · 27/04/2023 21:52

Ahh ok @Chanteuse @firstlittlefrazzleontheway so my 16 week Scan a week on Wednesday I should find out where my placenta is 🤞 x x

Mamabear345 · 28/04/2023 02:12

@OrionNebula we’re having a baby girl 💖🎀

OrionNebula · 28/04/2023 07:31

I count 3 girls 2 boys so far Smile

Smiffette · 28/04/2023 07:41

@NSx I have an anterior placenta and I'm 15+3.

Got my 16 week MW appointment on Thursday 4th May, I'm sure she mentioned at my booking that we would listen to heartbeat, so I hope so.

Then have private gender scan on 14th May! can't wait! 😃 we really think Boy, but totally happy either way!

Alexandra07 · 28/04/2023 07:53

I am having a girl!

4 girls 2 boys

Mldn · 28/04/2023 08:12

@NSx in the notes from my 12 week scan it was noted that my placenta is low & anterior x

NSx · 28/04/2023 08:24

@Mldn in my 12 week scan nothing was mentioned, I did ask though and they said they couldn’t tell yet so I don’t know what to make of it 😂😂😂😂

@Smiffette I think I will ask again at my 16 week scan …. Did they just tell you outright it was anterior?

Mldn · 28/04/2023 08:29

@NSx ahh! Well they didn’t tell me anything, I only know after reading the notes. I have no idea if it’s good or bad etc. it also said my “marginal cord insertion” … so obviously I googled & omg google is the worst place for a pregnant woman cos I freaked out! Need to tell myself they’ll let me know if anything is a concern!

NSx · 28/04/2023 08:46

@mldn Google can be the devil, but I do agree if anything was wrong, then they would definitely contact you 🤍🤍🤍

Summer022 · 28/04/2023 09:04

What lovely pictures of everyone’s bumps 🥰 I still haven’t got one at 14+1 😆 I really really want a bump now 😆 Hopefully it’ll pop soon!!!

katherine123x · 28/04/2023 09:35

Has anyone had a dry cough the whole way so far?? I'm going to mention to the midwife. I've just really noticed it but I just cough all day

NSx · 28/04/2023 09:55

@Summer022 I’m 14+2 and also don’t have a bump I just look a bit bloated/swollen 😂😅😂😅

firstlittlefrazzleontheway · 28/04/2023 09:58

This was me last week at 15 weeks, I definitely still look as though I've just eaten a big meal if people don't know I'm pregnant

peonygirl · 28/04/2023 10:13

@katherine123x I think we have exactly the same symptoms :) I am coughing from early on and it is really embarrassing when I am talking and in the middle I need to cough. I don't cough all day or non stop, but I do cough enough to notice. How's your nausea been? I am slowly recovering and getting back to my usual self. Not fully out of the woods yet but much much better (I am now 13+4).

katherine123x · 28/04/2023 10:18

@peonygirl same!! I've only just really noticed and I'm 15+3. Sickness and nausea still around and I'm still exhausted!! 😩

peonygirl · 28/04/2023 10:37

@katherine123x I am keen to find out if we are expecting babies of the same gender since our symptoms are the same. My friend is also having exactly the same symptoms and is 3 months ahead of me - she's expecting a girl. Will you ask for the gender reveal? I can't wait to hear what I am expecting :) I want to be ready in advance.

Nausea really is horrendous, I am also still vomiting but way less than before. I can also finally drink more! I cannot even explain how horrible it is not being able to drink and being dehydrated. I need to sip though else I cough. I am still pizza-obsessed. Anyone else craves pizza for weeks??

@firstlittlefrazzleontheway I think that's a lovely bump, I am way smaller than that at 13+4. I'd be happy with your bump at 15 weeks, I feel it will never happen (and then I will complain how big it is sometime in August haha).

kingfisher168 · 28/04/2023 10:41

@katherine123x Before pregnancy I have already struggled with GORD (chronic acid reflux) which does cause dry cough (as the acid from stomach tickles you in the throat). So it could be that as acid reflux is common in pregnancy and you don't always have to feel the sour/bitter feeling in your throat, can be fairly 'silent'. If you have indigestion, would mention to GP and they might recommend Omeprazole.

But it could just be cough from dry air 😊. Have had this last week (from a plane) and was surprised to see.how little we are allowed to take for sore throat, cough etc! So always good to check any medications (even as small as Strepsils) before you take them.

For anyone wanting to use reusable nappies, I appreciate it's fairly early for our 'group' to start nesting, but there is 20% off on the NappyGurus this week due to a Reusable Nappy Week, not sure when it finishes, might be today, so might be worth having a look. I may have stocked up already, always up for a bargain!

@kingfisher168 yes, acid reflux! Definitely, I have this and have never had any issues before pregnancy. I was advised Gaviscon after meals and it does help with vomiting in the evenings as well (I usually vomited after evening meal possibly because of all acid build up through the day). It doesn't help every time but it is giving me some life back (I am also burping less if I take Gaviscon, if I don't I am like an old drunk man, full of beer).

katherine123x · 28/04/2023 10:58

@kingfisher168 thank you for that advice. I hadn't even thought of it!!

@peonygirl I will let you know. Find out next Sunday!!
