Hi everyone. I am currently 5.6 weeks pregnant and I would be curious to know what your symptoms are (were) during the same period. So far I've had a metallic taste in my mouth since 12dpo which is now very much fading away and breast soreness that fluctuates so much within the course of the day driving me insane. I am also a little tired but nothing excessive. I would welcome more symptoms as it would feel a bit more reassuring. What is (was) your experience?
I have an early scan in exactly a week and the wait has been excruciating 😆

@Lillybobs86 yes it's nice to have this little group to share our experience 😊.
You got me curious about the sleeping positions and all I could find is that it didn't matter during the first trimester and then it was better to sleep on the side, particularly the left side as it increases blood flow to the foetus. Something to check with the doc later on 😉

Lillybobs86 · 24/04/2023 14:15

Hiya! I’m 8 weeks today, due 4th December too! I’ve got my booking appointment with my midwife tomorrow and have so many questions for her already. No scam yet. I’ll see what she says and if she can offer me an early one, if not I’ll get a private one.
My symptoms have calmed down, minimal nausea, no sickness at all, boobs less sore but this comes in waves. No food aversions, always starving, craving nothing specific. Was extremely tired over the weekend, have sim cramps that come and go. Tummy looks BIG already, but I’m bloated and was chubby there anyway.
I think I’ll feel a lot more reassured with a scan to tell me things are progressing as they should. Then I can relax a bit as the miscarriage risk goes down significantly.
Loving the updates ladies, keep them coming! ❤️

TTCbaby2023 · 24/04/2023 19:04

@Lillybobs86 I think it is normal yes as long as it's not blood then that's fine 😉

TTCbaby2023 · 24/04/2023 19:08

@GlitterDragon welcome to our club! 😊 It's intetesting that we are all at about 8 weeks and with milder symptoms! My symptoms are very similar to yours. I'm very bloated but the high fibre intake might also have something to do with that 😂
Lucky that you have your booking appt so early, mine is not until week 12 and I wondered whether that was normal? It seems a bit late.. I think I will call them to enquire.

Haha yes defo get this!

TTCbaby2023 · 25/04/2023 07:17

Feeling a bit crappy today. I dreamt I lost the baby last night and coupled with symptoms getting milder and milder (breast barely sore and not all the time) I'm starting to feel very concerned 😔

@TTCbaby2023 Sorry to hear you had such a horrid dream, dreams at the moment are wild for me and mostly mean the opposite.
They always say you dream of what's worrying you the most, but the story is usually your imagination running wild.
If you worried could you bring your scan forward?
Honestly try not to worry ❤️

TTCbaby2023 · 25/04/2023 08:36

@Lillybobs86 I am worried sick today, I've now lost all symptoms. No breast soreness whatsoever, only a small metallic taste in the mouth. I am at work and don't know what to do with myself, it doesn't feel normal to lose all breast soreness like that.

OP posts:
ChaE05 · 25/04/2023 10:40

I really do think you're worrying about nothing and this explains your dreams but would also say like @Lillybobs86 suggested, try and bring the scan forward? Xx

Lillybobs86 · 25/04/2023 10:51

@TTCbaby2023 Sorry to hear that yes it's the worst when you at work.
Can you not take the afternoon off as sick?
And try book a private scan for today?
Around my area we have a lot of private scans with same day appointments- I really think that's the best option to see if availability local to you to put your mind at rest today.
You can still attend Sundays if still possible financially so your partner can see baby too x

TTCbaby2023 · 25/04/2023 11:31

My boss who's based abroad is here for a couple of days so I can't take any time off and have days full of boring meetings. The earliest I can bring it forward is Friday so quite close to the current appointment. You read so many stories of people who had the same issue and then find out they had an MMC.. Nausea started a bit at the end of last week so was quite happy but things changed quickly..

OP posts:
Lillybobs86 · 25/04/2023 11:40

@TTCbaby2023 don't read any stories online as makes anxiety worse for probably no reason.
Can you get a scan for this evening x

TTCbaby2023 · 25/04/2023 11:49

@Lillybobs86 the place where I go doesn't offer scans late enough and another more expensive place is fully booked today. Contemplating whether to fork out £120 there tomorrow instead of waiting until Sunday. I will see how it goes until tomorrow. If there is change then I might book one for tomorrow.

OP posts:
TTCbaby2023 · 25/04/2023 11:50

@Lillybobs86 with my naturally anxious character I can't help but focus on the worst case scenario and it's driving me nuts.

OP posts:
Lillybobs86 · 25/04/2023 11:52

@TTCbaby2023 I would do it to put your mind at rest.
I completely get you as I get anxious as well so I understand the worry x

Puccini1900 · 25/04/2023 12:19

I still haven't heard from a midwife yet - I've done the hospital online form but no response. I'm 9w5d... Surely I should have heard something by now? I can't find any other contact details either 😕

TTCbaby2023 · 25/04/2023 13:29

@Puccini1900 I don't think normal, ring your GP they can direct you to the right people if you don't have the number. Or ring the hospital directly.

OP posts:
ChaE05 · 25/04/2023 14:05

I completely understand I promise you I do. I've suffering with anxiety since a young age and always thinking the worst. I would defo book that more expensive appointment for tomorrow to get peace of mind. Having my scan has defo relaxed me. Still have worries but overall just trying to stay positive xx

Lillybobs86 · 25/04/2023 15:55

How are you feeling @TTCbaby2023 ?
I have anxiety as well for years so I feel your worry.
Try not to worry as my symptoms fluctuate as well and I am 8 weeks tomorrow so I think we are at really similar stages ❤️
Did you manage to book your scan?
