Hi everyone. I am currently 5.6 weeks pregnant and I would be curious to know what your symptoms are (were) during the same period. So far I've had a metallic taste in my mouth since 12dpo which is now very much fading away and breast soreness that fluctuates so much within the course of the day driving me insane. I am also a little tired but nothing excessive. I would welcome more symptoms as it would feel a bit more reassuring. What is (was) your experience?
I have an early scan in exactly a week and the wait has been excruciating 😆

@Whathefisgoingon fertility clinic early reassurance scan :) meant to be at 6 weeks but I'm away

TTCbaby2023 · 12/04/2023 00:25

@ChaE05 I'm 6+2 today. The forums can be a double edge sword as I've read some very sad stories. That scares me as I really don't know how I would cope if it turns bad.. on the flip side I've also learnt a lot from other women. Another 6 weeks until the end of the first trimester, this will feel like an eternity!

@LauraT321 definitely not the only nervous one! 😆I don't think it's an indication of anything that your symptoms are mild, especially so early on.
Let's hope we all see and hear that precious heartbeat soon!! 🙏

@Itonlytakesaminute I have my booking appt in week 12 let alone the scan.. isn't that a bit late for a booking appt?

@Lillybobs86 Roller coaster indeed, probably not helped by all the hormones.. I just wish time could go a little faster and finally start appreciating that I am pregnant instead of worrying all the time.

@TTCbaby2023 Congratulations! And to everyone else on this thread too!

Im currently 5+4. Ive have period like cramps for just over a week now, been Googling like mad and hoping this is normal but I have seen a lot of posts on here saying they’ve had the same. Also got sore boobs and very tired. No sickness at the moment but very hungry all day every day haha.

I’m going to book an early scan for around 8 weeks I think

I know that's what I'm like I just want to get to 12 weeks to the safer area but I'm sure we will all get there and all our beans will be fine and healthy ❤️🍀🙏🏽

I've had the cramping as well and it's gets me worried as they are so similar to period cramps!
They assured me all normal and it was confirmed with scan all was fine so don't worry sounds normal unless you are worried consult your doctor but they did make me worry as well x

Purpleflowers21 · 12/04/2023 14:52

@Lillybobs86 It’s so strange with being similar to period pain isn’t it?! I keep expecting my period every time I go to the loo 🤦🏻‍♀️😂.

How far along are you? Did you have an early scan? X

TTCbaby2023 · 12/04/2023 14:53

@Purpleflowers21 Congratulations!! Don't worry about the cramping. I've also had it since I got my bfp but they have eased in the last few days. I booked a scan for this week end, I will be 6+6 weeks but now thinking I may have booked it too early and might not get the reassurance I want..

I've had 4 scans with EPU and 1 private one so far.
The EPU wanted to see me early as I had an ectopic last year :(
I had a private scan on Saturday as I had some spotting and it freaked me out so booked straight in, all was fine though.

I am 6 weeks today :)))

I know what you mean, I was desperate to book a scan straight away but I’ve read they can see more after 8 weeks so going to book for around then.

TTCbaby2023 · 12/04/2023 15:05

@Purpleflowers21 yes 8 weeks is probably better. I'm guilty of not being able to fight my impatience!

Anyone feeling flu like symptoms during week 6?
This morning I have woken up feeling like I have the flu or covid 🙈🤦🏽‍♀️🤒

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 13/04/2023 12:41

I had a scan at EPU today due to pain and bleeding. Measured 7+2, could see the heartbeat and was all done transabdominally. If it hadn't been for seeing the EPU I was going to try book a private one this weekend. I think 8 weeks is a good goal in case you're a couple of days out.

@Purpleflowers21 I had my scan today at 6+6 weeks and all was fine. We saw the little heart flicker and crl is 8.56mm. They didn't give me the heart rate as they don't give that info but I'm reassured that at least things are progressing well. I'm pondering whether to have another one in a couple of weeks as the NHS appt is so far away at the end of May...

Good to hear all good :)
I am just 2 days behind you :)
How are your symptoms now?
I feel like some of mine have eased off last couple days x

TTCbaby2023 · 16/04/2023 18:35

@Lillybobs86 funny you should say that, I've been so worried since yesterday as symptoms have eased off too! Boobs are barely sore, sometimes not all, and the weird taste in the mouth is more off than on.. I didn't have many symptoms to start with so I'm gutted that they are easing.. what symptoms did you have again?

My boobs were rock hard last week and absolute agony - and now just only tender.
At this point with my daughter (12 years ago) I was so sick but this week I am only slightly nauseous but put off by cooking smells etc not sick at all really.
I am sure it's all normal as read all fluctuates however I still worry as had a horrific loss last year (Ectopic)
I know this time is not ectopic as scan confirmed that thank goodness.
I have a scan this Thursday as well can not come quick enough as just want to make sure all ok etc :))

TTCbaby2023 · 16/04/2023 19:27

I spoke to a midwife who said it was perfectly normal for symptoms to fluctuate a lot. As long as you still have some even mild and not bleeding, then things are most probably ok. No 2 pregnancies are the same. I have booked another scan in 2 weeks as I will be nearly 9 weeks and will defo need more reassurance by then 😆
I hope all goes well for your scan on Thursday, let us know how it went!!

Are you still getting cramps? Mine went off for a few days but have come back this morning. My boobs are still sore and my partner says they’ve grown already 🤦🏻‍♀️😂. I’m kinda wishing I’d booked my scan earlier as it seems like forever away haha x

TTCbaby2023 · 17/04/2023 13:55

@Purpleflowers21 I'm not getting the daily dull cramps I used to have amymore but I get random pains and twinges that last for a few minutes. Nothing severe. Boobs are sore on and off, I don't have the impression they got any bigger and I don't have any new symptoms. Patience pays as the risk of miscarriage drops to 2% once you see a heartbeat at 8 weeks. I have booked another one in a couple of weeks as I will be almost 9 weeks.
