@Sjw30 you will likely be fine at 26 weeks! Just in a different location. Maybe bottled water, know where best local hospital is just in case, etc? Think pregnancy makes you want a holiday more!!

Sjw30 · 13/04/2023 09:06

@BMK yes definitely! Thank you

BB1993 · 13/04/2023 09:49

hello!:) I’m due august 20th if you want to add me 🙌 x

BB1993 · 13/04/2023 09:52

apologies if this is totally the wrong thread but I was wondering if people could give their opinion on our babies gender ?!

We decided not to know but I’m soooo curious now the opportunity has passed 😅

boy or girl ???

I urge everyone to start pelvic floor now..
I didn't with my son, and ended up with a shattered pelvic floor and actually wet myself daily.. not a full on wet.. but dribbles :( and have to wear a little panty liner.. it's awful but nothing can be done other than excersizes so I truly urge everyone to not have to live life like me 😅

allgoodthings84 · 13/04/2023 12:53

I’m a bit behind most of you here due 26th August (baby will be born early by planned c section) and I had my scan today at 20+5

we were seen on time (had the first 8.30am appointment) but was still there 1.5 hours as baby wasn’t playing ball. Everything is all good they managed to get everything checked in the end. They couldn’t get the heart chambers checked properly or the lips so I was sent out to walk around and do star jumps 😂 after that they managed to get the heart all checked but baby was covering their face and even though wriggling around ended up looking down with head turned so had to go back out while they scanned someone else and eat a mars bar and drink some cold water. This worked and was able to get the lips checked. The sonographer really didn’t want to have to get me back in another day just to check the lips. Baby was moving plenty just not into the positions needed.

The sonographer said she’s fairly sure baby is a girl and showed us and we had the private scan which also showed a girl so we are confident now. We didn’t tell the sonographer today that we already knew as didn’t want it to influence anything even though I’m sure they wouldn’t let it anyway

DesertSnow · 13/04/2023 22:17

@BB1993 Welcome, I'll add you to the next list update. Afraid no clues about gender - don't think you can see the key bits! 😆

@allgoodthings84 congrats on your little girl 💖Glad they managed to check everything eventually!

@sally16 eek I definitely need to start pelvic floor exercises!

OP posts:
Owlgirl14 · 14/04/2023 08:10

@sally16 I have started doing them, not sure if I'm doing them right. Just squeezing together muscles down there x

sally16 · 14/04/2023 08:16

@Owlgirl14 I was told too practice by stopping peeing mid stream and that's the feeling you go for haha!
Or a tight 'clench' 😂

DomesticElf · 14/04/2023 08:35

@sally16 I am with you on bump love. I am quite enjoying having a baby bump. I like holding it feeling the kicks when at home, trying to stop myself doing that in public 😅
To celebrate 24 week viability milestone, I got a pack of sleep suits and baby grows, and washed them all ready to go 😬

BCxx · 14/04/2023 08:54

@sally16 I literally haven’t done any until now and only did it for a short time after having him last time. I think that’s most likely my issue 🤦🏼‍♀️ I had leaking issues right at the end last time but they’ve started already this time and I was telling myself it must be that this baby’s head is right down there whereas my son’s wasn’t but I think a weak pelvic floor must be the main issue!

BMK · 14/04/2023 08:54

Wow that is v domestic @DomesticElf . @sally16 if you did the exercises daily I'm pretty sure you could build them up again and not have the dribble effect??*I heard a lady on a show one day saying it's never too late even if you're in your 60s to rebuild the muscles. I do need to do them as I can feel their weakness in this (3rd) pregnancy having done them so very little to date. Someone also described it as like trying to make your bits watertight or really stop a small 'windy ' coming out and etc.

They are so boring though, but essential I suppose!

Hope you're OK @AnnieApple123 .
Apart from the expensive pregnancy pillow, is there any good but less expensive one to be had?

BMK · 14/04/2023 08:56

sorry, @AnnieApple123 that was a general question, I wasn't meaning to make it seem like it was directed at you!!

BCxx · 14/04/2023 08:57

I’m going to start doing them before I brush my teeth twice a day and also before I eat lunch so that it’s three times 🙄

BCxx · 14/04/2023 08:58

@BMK i just got one off Amazon and it’s great. I did the same last time. I can’t imagine what the expensive one can do that this can’t 🤔😂

sally16 · 14/04/2023 09:12

@BMK yes! They said I've just to keep going! But it was queried if they had torn the muscle when inducing me that wasn't helping but got the all clear!
The elvie pelvic floor trainer is really good! Not used it in preganncy though haha!

BMK · 14/04/2023 09:17

Ok thank you @BCxx . I just don't think I can justify buying the expensive one. Many other things yes,it no!(';) OK I will start today too. I will do them when I get into car as that happens at least 2 times per day and often more.
Ok now I feel like I’m tackling this lurking/ignored issue!! Thank you and @sally16 !
Is anyone else finding it harder to get out of bed in the morning??

CityKity · 14/04/2023 11:06

@sally16 thanks for the reminder/warning to do pelvic floor exercises! I have to admit I’ve been a bit head in sand about my the baby so have been cracking on as usual, but I really need to start doing these exercises to avoid problems down the line!

@BCxx do you mind sharing the link to the one you bought on Amazon? I can’t imagine what an expensive pregnancy pillow can possibly do that a cheaper one can’t! I hate wasting money, and have be sleeping okay-ish but getting to the point that a pillow might be nice.

@Sjw30 I’m also on holiday soon! I’ll be away from 27weeks and get back home when I hit week 28. I’m really excited for the break and time with DH tbh, we’ve been like ships in the night recently. I found flying for work recently totally fine, I actually think having a bit more of a bump in a few weeks time will make things even easier as hopefully I’ll get a bit more sympathy as I’m just starting to show now. I’m mainly stuck with what to wear! Starting digging out summer dresses last night, and luckily most are flowy enough that they fit well, but sadly need to buy new trousers/shorts!

Fizzmatizz · 14/04/2023 11:12

@Sjw30 Not yet but finding myself deliberating it most days so think I need to get one booked! I will be around 28w by the time me and my partner have available to go so feel a bit on edge too. But at the same time… it would be nice 😂. How long are you going for if you don’t mind me asking, I’m not sure which length of time would be best!

sally16 · 14/04/2023 11:36

I only bought the elvie because mines was so bad I was scared to not be doing it correctly!
Normally it wouldn't even have been a purchase I'd have thought about spending haha! X

Sjw30 · 14/04/2023 12:01

That’s reassuring thank you @CityKity hope you have a lovely time away!

@Fizzmatizz im glad we have booked it but every now and then I get a bit anxious but I know I’ll be alright on the day! We’re just doing a week to be safe but also it’s the only time we have off work! Where are you thinking of going?

BCxx · 14/04/2023 12:03

This is the one I got @CityKity You need to get a cover for it too but it does the job and was a lot cheaper than the one at £150 or something 🙈 after you’ve had the baby I don’t know what you’d do with the expensive one!

Rowanandremy · 14/04/2023 13:28

@BB1993 Welcome!

@allgoodthings84 Congrats on your little girl!

@BMK I am really struggling to get out of bed on a morning, mostly because I’m soo tired but also my back is pretty bad anyway but it’s gotten worse the further along I am. It locks up pretty bad and then I can’t bend or twist at all.

I should start thinking about pelvic floor exercises really, I was lucky first time around because I didn’t do them at all but I can tell the difference this time - sneezes are a bit of a dreaded situation.

Is anyone planning on having a 3d/4d scan?

Fizzmatizz · 14/04/2023 14:27

@Sjw30 ah I think a week will be just perfect! Long enough to get away but not away for too long. I’ve been so on the edge about doing it or not I’ve only really considered Spain but should have a look around. I think you’re right, you’ll definitely relax when you’re there and once you’re back be so glad you did it :)

ChloeN · 14/04/2023 16:12

@Rowanandremy ive got a scan booked at 27+4 so I’ll get some 4d photos then😚
