Well I do feel a bit silly for being so angry last night. It's just so uncomfortable trying to hide it and there's no need now. After months of doing that I thought I could finally relax.
He'll have to text them, the next time we see that same group is at a birthday in a months time by which point there will be no hiding anything!

overwork · 10/04/2023 08:47

Thankyou for all the understanding!

AnnieApple123 · 10/04/2023 09:13

I’m back again. Thank you so much for the kind thoughts people left for me on the last thread. They really are very much appreciated.

I saw the consultant again last Monday (the day we were meant to be going away). My TORCH screening (for toxoplasmosis, rubella, etc.) came back negative so I went straight for another lot of bloods to test for rarer infections. The full results of these will take a while and I’ve been advised to wait until 26 weeks for a MRI scan, so nothing is going to happen now for a bit. It’s still possible I may have an amnio but it wouldn’t be until after that.

We still managed to get away for a few days to the seaside and I took a short break from here as needed some time out from thinking about all things pregnancy. I’m back now though and am going to really try to think positive and assume all will be fine (which is the most likely outcome). It’s been lovely catching up on messages. I’ve missed you all. xx

LS888 · 10/04/2023 11:18

@AnnieApple123 welcome back and glad you are feeling positive after a few days away. Sometimes it really does help. Keep that positivity going! And good luck with the next lot of results xx

Amme18 · 10/04/2023 11:39

Good to have you back @AnnieApple123 ❤️

BMK · 10/04/2023 11:44

Oh yayyyy @AnnieApple123 ,welcome back! and so happy to hear that!!!!! It wasn't the same without you . No all will be well,I can sense it. Hard to believe the THIRD semester is looming in 2 weeks for a lot of us!! I'm so proud of us all for getting through to now even.

BMK · 10/04/2023 11:46

@sally16,definitely try do something as 3rd semester will be more demanding/tricky and you have to mind yourself; noone else will do it for you and your o/h doesn't know what it feels like to be big, sore and exhausted. Do put yourself first for the next few weeks as maternity leave is far from a holiday or relaxing time-unless you have the best baby in world; but even then it's feeding every c2 hours and when you put another child in the mix- particularly under2- it really is extremely demanding. I made the mistake of working right through thinking I'd be 'off ',when in fact I was absolutely exhausted on mat leave and wished I could just be having the easier time at work instead.

sally16 · 10/04/2023 11:58

@BMK yeh I'm gonna take advantage of the extra time off before baby is here! I'm lucky to have a supportive partner and GP who has said to email and she will give me a sick line if I've had enough 😂😂😂

sommeliermama · 10/04/2023 12:55

Welcome back @AnnieApple123 , sounds like you are doing all the right things to be looking after yourself and your baby! ❤️

Narwhal88 · 10/04/2023 14:10

@DesertSnow thanks for the new thread.
Welcome back @AnnieApple123 hopefully all is fine, like you say that is the most likely conclusion.

How much movement is everyone getting or did you get at 21/22 weeks?
I can feel her moving but it's only a few times a day and no regular pattern yet. Definitely not proper kicks either. I do have an anterior placenta though.

LS888 · 10/04/2023 14:34

@Narwhal88 I’m coming up to 24 now and my husband has just started to feel the little kicks this week. I haven’t got a regular pattern as such. But it definitely moves more after I’ve had food- especially something sweet or cold! At 21/22 I could definitely feel flutters but I wasn’t 100% sure if it was movement or wind 🤣 - looking back now I think I can say it was movement. It’s reassuring in the next few weeks the movement will be increasing and maybe even seen from the outside - has anyone had this yet or know when to expect this?

BCxx · 10/04/2023 14:56

@Narwhal88 Im 21 weeks and I can feel the kicks every day at some point or another but I’m not up to the regular pattern I was at last time yet. I think it’s weird when you know what to expect and then it’s a lot less at first 🙈 My husband has been able to feel some of the kicks if I tell him to at night but it is still very random or after I’ve ate something really sweet!

LBF2020 · 10/04/2023 15:23

23+2 here with an anterior placenta. lots of movement in the last few days although I haven't seen a real pattern yet.
They are already quite uncomfortable/painful. Especially the really low down kicks. I'm wondering how much worse they are going to get over the next 16 weeks!

As a side note, I have endometriosis and a lot of scarring from surgery, I wonder if this has any impact on how the kicks are felt?

sommeliermama · 10/04/2023 15:51

21+3 here and still no movement that I'm aware of! She was squirming away on the scan last week though so I'm not worried. Just really want to feel something soon!

CityKity · 10/04/2023 16:20

I would say I had flutters from around 18 weeks but can’t quite remember when I started feeling real kicks - I think around weeks 20/21?

@LS888 I had a surreal moment at week 20 in the bath when I could swear that I saw my tummy move which was crazy. I stared at my tummy for ages to try and spot it again but never caught it again. I think I have seen my tummy move in the bath since but it does take some staring to catch the right time!

DH felt kicks at around week 21, I’ll be 24 weeks tomorrow (crazy) and the kicks are definitely daily but I did have a bit of a worry last week when I didn’t feel then for a few days when I was away for work travelling. I think the reality is that when I’m on my feet all day and am shattered, I’m too distracted to feel/notice kicks, but normally when I’m home and relaxed I’ll get a lot of kicks in the evening between dinner and bedtime.

BCxx · 10/04/2023 16:48

I feel like if you’re 30+ weeks you’re fully ‘heavily pregnant’ and you don’t have long to go at all, it’s mad that we’re on single figure weeks countdown to that point now. I want to try and get the major things organised before then!

sally16 · 10/04/2023 17:20

Full belly moving from kicks now at 22+3.. which is weird because I had nothing with DS at this point!
Mostly at night but can feel the bladder kicks during the day and it's weird haha

Owlgirl14 · 10/04/2023 17:23

I'm 20+5 with anterior placenta and started feeling movements exactly at 20 weeks. Started off about one session a day, but the last few days I've had 3-4 sessions of movements/kicks which was more than I was expecting. She feels like she's got stronger already with low down kicks x

Rowanandremy · 10/04/2023 17:52

Welcome back @AnnieApple123 it sounds as though you’ve done exactly what you and your family need.

Im 23 weeks as of yesterday, dw has been able to feel him move since I was 20/21 weeks and I’ve had noticeable stomach movements for the last 2 weeks. It feels to
me that he’s stronger with his kicks than dd was at this stage, despite the fact that he likes to hide at the back of me. I had his pattern of movements by 18 weeks but I felt both of mine ridiculously early so not sure if that’s the norm, the scan showed I had a posterior placenta which will have definitely helped.

P1pk · 10/04/2023 18:06

I'm now 21+2 and have been feeling movements regularly throughout the day. I feel stronger movements when I'm sitting and doing nothing but during the day im not noticing as much and its mostly beliw.
Can't wait for my other half to feel movements!

DesertSnow · 10/04/2023 18:31

Welcome back @AnnieApple123, good to hear your update, and we all have everything crossed for you.

Bought a couple of sleepsuits today, and we've also finally bought the car seat - starting to feel real!

Re. movement - nothing regular, and still only what I would describe as flutters rather than definite kicks/punches. I'm 24+2 today and was really hoping to feel something stronger before now as DH is off to Brazil tomorrow and won't be back until I'm 28 weeks. Would have loved him to have felt a kick or two before he goes.

Worrying a bit about being alone during this time - for some reason I feel quite vulnerable being pregnant, not to mention how tiring it will be to do all the cooking, cleaning etc. by myself for so long while I'm getting bigger and more tired 😥

newmummie · 10/04/2023 18:37

Hiya everyone, I'm quite unwell atm sore throat, temperature, aches and pains and being sick :( , baby's been active tho I hope he's okay in there! Has anyone experienced extreme exhaustion yet? I'm aware you can be quite tired through pregnancy but heard it hits the worst in the 3rd trimester? There's literally no way I can get more tired than this. During work I keep getting tired, non stop yawning, keep feeling like if I don't go to sleep rn my body's going to just do it for me, shut off and go to sleep. Another level of exhaustion, and I have been sleeping okay, I wake a few times during the night for a few minutes but still get a total of 7-8hrs. I hope everyone is well 💛

Narwhal88 · 10/04/2023 21:14

Thanks everyone regarding the movements. Seems there is quite a wide range of what is normal! Some days I feel quite a bit of movement and others not so much and then I worry but I know it can be normal at this stage. I think it depends where she is laying as well.

@DesertSnow I know what you mean about feeling vulnerable. I think as I know I can't do things I normally would as I'm not lifting anything heavy and I worry more about being knocked over or pushed etc. even though there's no reason this would happen.

DomesticElf · 10/04/2023 22:18

I've name changed, UsernameNotPresent here in the new guise.

Just over 23 weeks now, and there is definitely no hiding anything. This one is definitely wrigglier than my first. Let's see how that translates into the temperament when he is out 🤣

DomesticElf · 10/04/2023 22:20

Oh and re exhaustion, me too. I am short of breath, always tired, like getting through treacle. One cup of coffee a day does nothing for me. Plus little one sometimes wedges himself into an awkward place which really makes me slow down when walking.
