Totally with you on that one @Paintandpots wishing June away 😂 I’ve had so many people ask about it this time so I obviously look very clearly pregnant and when they do it’s as if they think I’m going to say I’m due next week but saying ‘August’ still sounds like months away! A woman asked in a shop yesterday when the baby was due and I was a bit taken aback.. I’d never be so brave as to say it, even if I could very clearly see someone was pregnant rather than fat, I would just never take the gamble!

Sorry quite a few of you now have complications .. hopefully the next month or so all goes smoothly and the little ones arrive safe and sound 🤞🏻

Comfort wise I’ve been really lucky again and not been in any real pain but the only thing that’s bothered me is in the last week or two I’ve really noticed my old c-section scar being sore from things rubbing on it. I think it must just be from the size of the bump now causing clothes/underwear to roll down and sit directly on top of it. It literally felt like someone was trying to cut me in half today with my underwear digging in and rubbing side to side. It looked red raw when I saw it tonight 🤦🏻‍♀️ Is anyone else finding their scar sore? I always worry mine isn’t very well healed looking, my friend showed me hers just 6 months after she’d had her second and there was virtually nothing there but mine is still a very visible line!

airmaxJ · 07/06/2023 01:49

@BCxx now I think about it I have been rubbing mine , kind of itching sometimes and I haven't noticed I was doing it till you mentioned about the c section scar . It's not sore just obviously with the stretching it must be something. It's fine now as i write this but definitely something I'll notice now .

33 weeks on Friday I am btw and to get a planned c section for the 2nd time and feeling nervous about it .

Hope everyone is okay and resting enough it's getting harder in the heat x

airmaxJ · 07/06/2023 03:42

I wrote a thread on names for opinions about 2 I am considering. Partner only likes Heidi- I like it but I like Nova too . Opinions welcome please x

BCxx · 07/06/2023 06:11

@airmaxJ im dreading it slightly but I know the actual operation will most likely be fine! I think it’s just the fact I already have a scar there that they’re going to cut through and that’s making me feel a lot more weird but trying to remind myself that it’s not me that’s doing the operation and they do it every day 😂 When will you get a date?

BCxx · 07/06/2023 06:13

@airmaxJ both Heidi and Nova are right up my street! I wouldn’t go by opinions on a thread on here too much, people can be so harsh on the name threads! You could just stick with the two and wait until you see which one she looks like?

airmaxJ · 07/06/2023 06:16

@BCxx I'll get a date at my next doctors appointment in 4 weeks time . I have an anaesthetist appointment today . Couldn't sleep that's why I was awake asking about names . Yes I'll wait till I see if she looks like a Heidi or a Nova !
When do you get a date do you know?

Rowanandremy · 07/06/2023 08:26

@Daisy155 welcome!

@Miraclesdohappen88 Im so sorry you’ve had a tough time of it, I don’t see it as moaning but please moan away! This is the perfect place for it and it’s better to let it out in a supportive environment than bottling it in - you’ve had such a lot to cope with and lack of sleep certainly doesn’t help. I’m struggling with getting comfortable but unfortunately I’ve no good advice for hip pain or ways to make it easier to manage.

@DesertSnow Good luck for your appointment today, I hope it’s positive news. You’ve a lot going on and it’s completely understandable that you are filled with worry so you aren’t able to enjoy the latter stages of pregnancy much, especially as right now you are having to take it a few days and appointments at a time. Personally, I think you are holding up remarkably and are being incredibly strong throughout this.

Rowanandremy · 07/06/2023 08:43

@Paintandpots I almost wish it were July but I’m kind of dreading how much more uncomfortable I can get 😂
Thats a good question about snacks and drinks, I look forward to seeing what everyone says. Last time I took blue Powerade which I’m planning on taking again but as for snacks I didn’t eat anything that I took and neither did dw 😂 I can’t even remember what we took beyond a pack of bourbon biscuits which were my favourites.

@BCxx like you I could never say anything to anyone about being pregnant, id be mortified if I were wrong. I’ve got in the habit of answering people asking how I am by saying ‘very pregnant’ 😂 my sister said it’s now apparent I’m pregnant because my bump has popped and I’ve got the curve in my back - which probably explains the back pain 😂

Is anyone else struggling with belly bands on clothes? I’m finding I can’t breathe properly if I have them up and that’s when they are quite loose, it’s making me feel sick so I’m having to keep them under the bump - not too bad for leggings but I’ve had my jeans slip down a little because of it.

@airmaxJ Heidi and Nova are lovely names. We had to have a veto system as there were so many names dw liked that I really didn’t and names I liked that she didn’t. For the longest time we didn’t have any names that we could agree on and when we found out we had a boy we picked a name, told everyone and then promptly changed our minds 😂 luckily he has another name that we’re sold on being his after seeing him on the 4d scan

sally16 · 07/06/2023 11:15

@Rowanandremy I'm also finding the bands uncomfy with clothing over the top!
I've been wearing it at home over my clothes but it's not really appropriate for work I suppose 😅

30 weeks tomorrow and the heartburn has seriously ramped up! Is Gavison/Rennie the best solution?

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 07/06/2023 11:47

@jollydollyirl I have been having acid reflux in the evening for weeks too - it is horrid.

My MW advised Rennies, but I didn't ask about Gaviscon to know what the recommendation is for that x

sally16 · 07/06/2023 12:13

DS has chicken pox 🫠
Waiting on GP hearing back from maternity wether I need antivirals or not..

Anyone else been in this situation before? 30+5 so should be fine but he's stuck to me like glue 🤣

@sally16 Both my kids had it during my 2nd Trimester. I was told as long as I had chickenpox as a child there was no additional risk. If you haven't had it or if you are not sure, you are required to contact your GP for a blood test to see if the anti-virals are required. x

If you can stomach it, my doctor advised a glass of milk before bed. Something about milk and laying down stops the 'reflux' that causes heartburn. 😊

sally16 · 07/06/2023 12:27

@unluckyinlife I'm 99% sure I've had it! Mum said it was very mild but still present?
Glad to know it's not a big deal though!
I am stuck working weekends for my last 2 weeks though :( xx

unluckyinlife · 07/06/2023 12:35

@sally16 That's good. At least you don't need to worry too much. Hopefully your little ones recover quickly! My daughter had just got over hers and then my son got it a week later!

I booked my maternity leave finally yesterday. I'm not sure if I'm mad but my due date is the 25th (which is a Friday) and I've booked maternity leave for the following Tuesday 29th as the 28th was a bank holiday!

I have no idea if I am making it that far, but find working takes my mind off of worries relating to the pregnancy. I'm really lucky in that my site visits and face to face meetings had to stop at 24 weeks due to our insurance so I work from home, and the way it works is that as long as I meet workload and client demands I don't have set start and finish times! Apparently, if I give birth or am induced earlier, my maternity leave will automatically start the day after I give birth.

Monday was nice as I couldn't sleep so started at 4:30am and was finished by lunchtime 😀

sally16 · 07/06/2023 12:38

@unluckyinlife oh god! Hopefully you manage!
I'm dreading my last 4 shifts already! Was lucky someone was able to swap me though otherwise that would be done and I've got loads of stuff to finalise so would be going in unpaid 😵‍💫🤣

Marmaladebear · 07/06/2023 13:42

@sally16 yes you'll be fine as long as you've had it! I had to look into this because my son's nursery had an outbreak in my second trimester but somehow he dodged it.

@unluckyinlife great you can finish early as long as your work is done!

Sorry to hear people are finding it hard to sleep and nausea is back! I've been using the dream geni pillow I think it's called and I've been using it upside down and it's been a godsend for supporting my back, bump and hips!!

My toddler has been off sick from nursery the last couple of days 😭 it's been really sad, usually when he's sick he still seems his happy self but these past few days he hasn't been. He's been very quiet and just wanted cuddles. Luckily today he was back to his usual happy self otherwise I would be starting to worry.

Think there are a few of us moving house on this thread. We sold ours in a week which was a relief but trying to find somewhere new to live is proving much harder. We're moving north from London so have been doing trips up north as a family to view houses - so tiring (10 hour round trip driving with a toddler) and means we've missed out on things if we can't view quick enough (because we always have to wait for weekends etc). So we're trying to do things a bit more urgently and so my husband is going up on his own on the train next week to view. So fingers crossed the houses he sees next week look like their photos and we have a new one secured soon 🤞🏽🤞🏽

unluckyinlife · 07/06/2023 14:11

@Marmaladebear hopefully you find a house for you soon. We moved up north at the start of May and it has been 100 percent on of the best decisions we ever made. Although exhausting while pregnant admittedly! Xx

Daisy155 · 07/06/2023 14:12

@DesertSnow thank you so much and everyone for the lovely welcome.

Yes of course and the due date has been moved from 15 September to 24 of August x

sally16 · 07/06/2023 15:14

Dr said since I've had them it's all good 😅
Said if I do catch them again then to phone and she'll give me an antiviral though but realistically it's a low risk :)

So today was going well, now my old lab is poorly and has the vet at 4 😭 I'm hoping he's just feeling a bit yuck and comes home!

overwork · 07/06/2023 15:42

I've no idea what the pillow I was given is called but it is shaped like a pair of trousers and it's almost as big as me. I don't think I'm having as bad an issue as some of you are with your hips or sleeping wise, but this thing is a delight. I feel so comfy and supported. Also found my boyfriend cuddling one leg when I've woken up in the night so it's a bit of a hit in this house!

LS888 · 07/06/2023 16:49

@jollydollyirl I had bad heartburn and reflux and my go to was Gaviscon. Check the packaging as some aren’t recommended for pregnancy. I think it’s the double action tablets I took. Then I told my midwife and have been prescribed omeprozal (sp?) which has basically made it disappear- hurray!!

@Marmaladebear good luck on the house hunt! My parents moved north when we were younger and haven’t looked back!

BCxx · 07/06/2023 21:04

@sally16 good news about the chickenpox situation. How did you get on at the vets? Hope it wasn’t bad news 😢

BCxx · 07/06/2023 21:07

Finally threw some things in a hospital bag tonight after picking up some bits today. I’m majorly streamlining it this time! I’ve only done mine and not baby’s so far as im guessing newborn nappies/vests etc wouldn’t be needed if baby was to be born early at this point so a hospital bag for her would be the least of my worries! Trying to get the nursery done this week then go through all the clothes and wash them to then sit out some stuff for the hospital. Feel a bit less anxious having a bag of stuff for me though.. had visions of my husband throwing random things in a bag for me 🙈
