@P1pk with you on the pads 😂 great that we don’t bleed anymore but I’m now wearing pads for that reason plus the fear of wetting myself or even slightly! Better safe than sorry at this point

overwork · 06/05/2023 03:42

@newmummie I don't know for certain that I had pelvic girdle pain as I didn't bother to speak to midwife about it, but I had pains in my pelvis (felt like I was being pulled along by something attached to my bones). I saw an osteopath. She also gave me some stretches to do and 4 weeks down the line it's almost completely gone (except for putting my knickers / trousers on, I can't stand on one leg without pain!)
I also remember thinking there was no way I could keep working etc if it got worse. See if you can get a physio referral and hopefully yours will also improve - or atleast not get worse - too!

unluckyinlife · 06/05/2023 03:58

@MinnieFirstTimeMumthank you xx

BMK · 06/05/2023 09:05

@AnnieApple123 thinking of you too!!xx

LS888 · 06/05/2023 09:10

With everyone on the pads too! 🤦🏼‍♀️ it couldn’t cope without them in now. So annoying!

I’m 27 weeks this week and can’t believe there is only 13 weeks (potentially more/less) to go. We are away this week for a little holiday in my parents caravan in Wales. We bought an afternoon tea for watching the coronation later. And then a week of chilled beach walks and sea air and probably lots of rain! 🤣 but still it’s a week away from home and doing jobs which we are grateful for. Next weekend when I’m away on a hen do so we down to potentially 11 weekends to get things baby ready.

I’ve also been invited to the wedding of the lady whose hen do it is. The wedding is the 10th August and I’m due on the 3rd. I’m potentially going to ask her if I can come to the ceremony only and if I don’t have the baby yet and feel comfortable enough I might pop back for the evening. But don’t want her to waste 2 seats for the meal on us when we won’t know if we can make it. The wedding is only local - it’s where we got married- so hoping we can pop there for the ceremony at 1pm and she will be ok with that. Has anyone else attended a wedding when heavily pregnant?

sally16 · 06/05/2023 09:21

@LS888 we did the exact same at a wedding when I was heavily pregnant with DS!
Did the ceremony then went back for the evening part! And I was glad because it was so hot during the ceremony I just wanted to go for a nap after 😂 and it was nice to pop in and see everyone for the reception!

LS888 · 06/05/2023 09:41

@sally16 ahhh good to know. I think it a good compromise.I think if I do already have the baby (will see at the time how I feel though) I could potentially still go to the ceremony and my husband could wait in the bar area or in the car for half an hour and then pick me up. But we shall see!

sally16 · 06/05/2023 09:47

@LS888 the baby will genuinely be sleeping anyway at that age! They sleep all day, but not all night 🤣

BCxx · 06/05/2023 17:05

@LS888 I think that’s the perfect solution for everyone. You could say you’d go to the day part but leave at say 7pm but you’d just end up worrying about it about having to sit through the whole thing and/or about letting them down last minute if you had baby the day before for example. I’m sure she’ll be pleased that you’re coming, most people might not in that situation

BCxx · 06/05/2023 17:06

@LS888 as in most people probably just wouldn’t go at all, not not be pleased 🙈

DesertSnow · 06/05/2023 18:26

Can't believe I'm 28 weeks and in the third trimester now. DH is back after nearly 4 weeks away and finally got to feel baby kick which was pretty special. Finally feeling some movement a bit higher u

How are people getting on with names?

OP posts:
LS888 · 06/05/2023 19:38

Thanks @BCxx I understood what you meant! I will chat to her next weekend at the hen do and explain! But I think that is the best scenario too.

@DesertSnow I have a pretty solid girls name choice and 3 potential boys names that we keep going between. My husband particularly likes one of them and the other two are more traditional/common so undecided if they are too common. So not 100% sure of a boys name but pretty decided if it’s a girl. Time will tell!

I am 28 weeks next week and have a growth scan booked in for next Friday. So we are pretty excited to see the baby again as we aren’t doing a 3D/4D scan or having any more private ones 😊

BCxx · 06/05/2023 20:57

@DesertSnow it really is flying! I remember at the start being jealous of all of you further along ones when you were all about 10 weeks and I was 7 🤣 now look where we are! That will be nice for him, did he notice a big difference in your bump? We’re no further forward with names, have a shortlist of about 4 but still think there’s probably more we could add to it if we actually sat down and tried to find one! I really don’t want to decide last minute in case I spend the first few weeks wondering if it was the right one but at the same time I don’t know how I will have chosen before then!

newmummie · 06/05/2023 21:21

Just wanted to know is anyone else experiencing baby brain? I feel like I'm losing my mind 😂

CityKity · 06/05/2023 21:49

@DesertSnow Congrats on hitting week 28! Is that the official cross over into the third trimester? Glad you’ve got DH back too, that must be lovely to be reunited again especially as you must have ‘grown’ so much. At least from my end the last 4 weeks I’ve got from having a teeny tiny bump to a proper bump (in my opinion).

I’m 28 weeks next week and have my next midwife appointment where I was told they’ll do the first fundal height measurements which I’ve been looking forward too as I’ve had comments about looking too small for 6 months etc so would like the reassurance that baby is doing okay in there.

Names wise me and DH are totally stumped. We have 2/3 girl names that we’re considering but we suspect it’s a boy and we really only have one boy name which is far too crazy to actually go with. It’s so hard, I don’t know how we’ll ever come to a decision.

P1pk · 06/05/2023 22:46

@BCxx i agree better safe!!

It's so exciting to hear others now moving into their third trimesters!!
I'm a few weeks off as I'm 25 weeks today.

I had a question which I keep forgetting to ask others. How do we count baby movements? My midwife said there won't be a pattern until approx 2weeks, but how do we record/note movements to find this out?

BCxx · 06/05/2023 22:51

@P1pk you can get those count the kicks bands to move the thing along each time baby moves, I think you do it for an hour rather than all day but I’m not sure. I didn’t do anything last time and I wasn’t always convinced he was moving as much as he normally did but you have nothing to go off except your own feeling. I didn’t ever call the number and go in for a check but probably should have when I wasn’t sure. It seems to change so much depending on the way they’re lying too

P1pk · 07/05/2023 09:42

@BCxx thanks for the advice. I just found on the pregnancy app there is a kick counter, might try that and see how easy it is to remember using it.
Just another thing to be anxious about now 😁

BMK · 07/05/2023 11:06

To be honest I have never noticed a kick pattern and this is my 3rd baby. With the first when they said, around 25 weeks, to ring if noticed anything re kicking etc,I had no idea what they were on about and I continued to not have a clue as thst baby never really kicked and the movements I didn't align with kicks. Second baby did kick so I learnt what they were and this one I'm more aware, but no pattern. I've also never rang re movements as there is no discernable pattern as far as I can note..As long as there's some movements -particularly when you try to post eating-then for me all is fine.

ChloeN · 07/05/2023 14:23

For anyone not on the Facebook I had a scan this morning! All looks perfect with the baby thankfully, they’re weighing 2lb 7oz at the minute☺️ was lovely to see them wiggling on the scan and feel it in my belly at the same time!

Rowanandremy · 07/05/2023 19:51

@P1pk I’m also with you about the pads, although I’ve never gotten on with panty liners so I’m using toilet roll - not ideal but better than nothing!

@unluckyinlife congratulations! I hope the move went as well as possible.

@ChloeN congrats on your scan! That’s so lovely to know their weight and see them moving about.

I’m 27 weeks today and dw worked out I’ve got 91 days until my due date 😱 it feels simultaneously ages away and very very close. I could be feeling like that because we have a lot of decorating and rearranging of rooms before he gets here 😂 we have a 4d scan on Friday and I’m really looking forward to it, I’m really hoping we get a good look at his face as we don’t know anything about what the donor looked like beyond eye and hair colour.

ChloeN · 07/05/2023 20:28

@Rowanandremy hope you get some good photos on Friday☺️ We managed to get some right at the end, either their arm or the umbilical cord was in the way the rest of the time!

Rowanandremy · 07/05/2023 21:36

@ChloeN thank you 😃 dd hid her face in the placenta for a long time and every single scan this baby has had he’s turned his head away so I’m expecting a bit of mischief from him 😂 aww how lovely! I’m glad you were able to get some photos.

Paintandpots · 08/05/2023 03:46

To be honest the kick pattern is almost the same as when my toddler was a baby in the womb. At night he really wakes up, actually kicking and moving now and distracting me from sleep.

Names we need some more arabic muslim name options as neither are happy with each others suggestions yet.

Tiredness is coming back now too, the energy i had last week seems to have vanished. Anyone else felt the same at around 24/25 weeks?

airmaxJ · 08/05/2023 09:37

That's me 28 weeks, had an ultrasound last week and baby measuring 2lb 9 and my bloods showing I need iron tablets which will constipate me more but needs must , also I have had a previous c section so I have chosen to get one for this baby but I'm very nervous about it as the last time was an emergency and I was very I'll so I actually can't remember much . hope everyone is well and feeling fine xx
