@BMK 😂😂😂 he is like me hahaha!
I like the slide bed but I'll see what his dad thinks lol! I also have found a few varicose veins!! They look so bad 😭😭

BCxx · 25/04/2023 14:16

@BMK she is due about 3 weeks before so she told me a good bit before I told her! Luckily it was by a message in our group chat so I was able to just say congratulations without my face giving anything away😊 there have ended up being so many of my friends and girls from work due at the same time now!

Createcomet · 25/04/2023 17:47

@BMK unfortunately he still gets up demanding milk 🤦‍♀️ he was regularly sleeping until 7 which was better for him and for us, bit since he's dropped his nap he has also cut his nights sleep shorter. I've no idea whats going on! I don't know if I'd describe him as helpful yet 🤣 I try to get him to help pass me pegs etc when hanging washing, but most jobs I just have to do despite him and put up with 20 mins of whinging whilst I'm doing them 🤣 he's very clingy and demanding at the moment. Maybe he senses a change coming.

BMK · 25/04/2023 18:20

@Createcomet I'd say it's the bright mornings that have him up ? Any chance of darkening his room if so? But yes it certainly is a process!! Just be glad he's already 2 and things get incrementally better every month post 2!! @sally16 I don't know how I seemed to figure that one out! The next one might be quiet and measured and take after the other side if the house!?(';)
@BCxx how is the anxiety given that you're far away from the politics and etc of work?*has it gone away/eased a lot?
Yes like all of you I am wishing I was being waited on hand and foot with no responsibilities for the next 12 weeks,as opposed to.dealing with 'reality' of discomfort and tiredness: but like everything- it will pass and some people have real problems by contrast.
To all of you struggling with house/home issues: you don't have to have moved before baby. The baby can't walk until nearly a year so you have extra time (unless there are other children in the mix too which make it harder for you to live where you are/effect a move). Life is never perfect and always throws up things so just roll with what comes your way and do things that feel right . It all comes right in the end.

sally16 · 25/04/2023 18:27

@BMK I wiiiish! My partners so chill he's basically horizontal 🤣

DesertSnow · 25/04/2023 18:59

With you all on the tiredness front! My husband's been away for three weeks now - just over a week to go till he's back. I appreciate I don't have a toddler to look after like lots of you, but doing the full share of shopping, cooking, cleaning, washing up, laundry, looking after the cat etc. is tiring enough, on top of a stressful full time job and family drama, plus having to get myself to and from hospital three times last week. Not to mention growing a baby and being pretty uncomfortable with it! Feel like I'm just crawling through the days right now and just wish he was home. Though of course he'll be knackered when he gets home (24 hour journey) and will probably want me to look after him rather than the other way round! 😅

Sorry for the whiney post, feel like I needed to share!

BCxx · 25/04/2023 19:12

@BMK I’ve actually noticed a huge difference in the last week or so and have felt so much better thanks. It’s taken til now to be free from it though! I have the option of going back until my maternity kicks in or just taking it early, I can’t really afford to go without the money at the other side if I take it early but I do kind of feel life is too short to be that miserable and anxious 24/7 so I’ll probably take it early

Marmaladebear · 25/04/2023 20:04

Omg I could have written some of the posts on here! Also super tired 🫠 was 29 when I had my first and 32 now. I didn't think it would make much of a difference but I think that + toddler has made a huge difference in terms of my sickness and tiredness (I'm still occasionally throwing up bit not nearly as much as before).

@Amme18 hope you feel better soon! I got COVID a few weeks ago and paracetamol really helped and it's one of the few things we're actually allowed to take. My nose also got really congested at night and the pharmacist was able to give me something pregnancy safe to help which is worth checking out (if you have similar symptoms anyway).

9 weeks left of work for me 😂 8 of actually working since I have a week off for the coronation bank holiday.

Hope everyone has nice bank holiday plans. Since we spent the last one potty training (not fun) I'm determined to make this one better. I have a hen do on Saturday and then I've booked to take my son to London zoo on Sunday. Will probably be heaving but I don't care, just need to do something different 😂 last year we did a last min Airbnb holiday in the country for a bank holiday where we didn't have plans but don't have it in me right now to do anything like that

marleyandme · 26/04/2023 07:33

@Marmaladebear glad it's not just me counting down the weeks at work! 9 for me too, I feel like as I decided my end date so early, that it's been the longest notice period ever and I'm pretty checked out from it all now 😂 just hanging on til they get my mat cover in in around 6 weeks then I can hand it over to them and hopefully do less!

Your bank holiday plans sound great! Is anyone else planning much?
I've not got much planned for the actual bank holiday, but me and DH have also booked the Tuesday off work to go pram and car seat shopping so looking forward to that!

sally16 · 26/04/2023 08:53

Just had my GTT drink, got an orange one and it just tasted like a strong Capri sun.. now to wait 2 hours 🫠

Createcomet · 26/04/2023 09:09

There's some fun sounding bank holiday plans here! I usually work Mondays and have said I will go into work on Tues in leiu of that....also booked myself to work at an event selling some work all day on Sunday. Now really regretting both of those decisions and thinking I should maybe cancel sunday 🤦‍♀️ it should be a good day but it's going to be a bit exhausting. Need to be out of the house at 7am and home again at 6pm. Think I'll regret it if I don't go, but also don't really want to 🤣
Our son went to bed at 8.30pm and woke at 5am this morning. Every road to work was closed....today isn't a good day 🤣🤣🤣 hope everyone else has had a better start to the day. I feel like I'm falling asleep already!

Marmaladebear · 26/04/2023 09:50

@marleyandme exciting that you're getting the pram and car seat! I absolutely loved pram shopping (even though I had to do it all online because of lockdown I loved researching it 😂)

@Createcomet argh hope the rest of your day goes better and that your son sleeps more tonight!! So annoying when the roads are closed 🫠

Good luck @sally16 , hope time goes quickly for you!

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 26/04/2023 10:11

20 week scan take 2 (at 23 weeks)! Little man still wouldn't play ball so had to have an internal in the end. But finally got all the measurements needed and all looks healthy 👏🏻 even doing a little muscle flex 💪🏻 💙

I am completely with everybody with the fatigue, it is my first pregnancy though so not sure if it is that or if it is work, masters and the ongoing renovation 😬😴

airmaxJJeanii · 26/04/2023 11:20

I've applied for my free baby box 📦 I'm quite excited to get it , I don't know if you have anything like it outside of Scotland? I'm 26 weeks now and quite big with big rolls and kicks happening I'm doing quite well so far . The breathlessness when walking around is worse after food or a meal I notice too x x hope everyone is doing well

AnnieApple123 · 26/04/2023 11:26

So glad it’s not just me with the tiredness and finding a second pregnancy harder. I’m not sleeping well which can’t be helping - mainly due to anxiety and I’m not seeing an easy answer to that. I’m on my way right now into London for my MRI, although I won’t get the results for another 5 to 10 working days. I have got though later this afternoon an ultrasound with Prof Nicolaides who is a very big name in the fetal medicine world. Hopefully might be able to give some reassurance.

@sally16 That’s really kind of you re: the sling if you’re sure. I’ll PM you.

AnnieApple123 · 26/04/2023 11:35

@MinnieFirstTimeMum What a great, clear image!

@airmaxJJeanii I’m also 26 weeks and feeling similar.

Is anyone else finding a lot of variation in whether people notice your bump or not? To some it’s obvious right away. Others seem completely oblivious, which quite amuses me as I’m seriously huge now.

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 26/04/2023 11:37

Thank you @AnnieApple123

Good luck for this afternoon too, I hope you get some reassurance xx

sally16 · 26/04/2023 12:16

@AnnieApple123 ofcourse!

unluckyinlife · 26/04/2023 14:27

Has anyone got any bump band recommendations? I'm now 22 plus 5 (I think!) And on the school runs have noticed a pain like a pulled muscle on the right lower side of my bump.

When we move i have a 20 minute walk to school and 20 minute walk back twice a day and this pains starting to concern me in all honesty.

We still haven't exchanged so no idea if we're still moving Saturday!! Apparently estate agents, vendor and vendors solicitors are all in agreement and it's just ours solicitor everyone is waiting for 😪.

Having one of the worst weeks I think I've ever had!

airmaxJJeanii · 26/04/2023 14:31

@AnnieApple123 hopefully today goes smoothly for you . Thinking of you today xx 💕

BusyBushBaby · 26/04/2023 14:41

@AnnieApple123 Good luck, I hope you get some answers and I hope those answers are reassuring. x

BMK · 26/04/2023 15:05

@AnnieApple123 hope Dr Nicolades is being/has been reassuring and helped!! Everyone is wishing you and baby the very best!!!!

BMK · 26/04/2023 15:13

@BCxx wow: it's clearly (or seems to be!?) directly linked to your work environment. If you have to go back for the purposes of maternity leave or pay,how long do you have to stick.it for? I would ordinarily say stay a million miles away due to its effect on you,but where you know you are basically using them- as opposed to other way around- and IF you can Teflon coat yourself mentally so that every day you go in it's like 'one day less to go bitches ' and literally nothing can affect you as you mentally let everything slide off your imagined protective Teflon coat (and don't bring anything out of the building with you!!); then it would be OK to go back for the minimum amount you need to.?
@Createcomet I don't think you'd be happy unless you were stretching yourself(?) so the secret seems to be that you need a daytime sleep where you can get it [you may have to make sleepy time slot when at work!!] and lots of nighttime sleep to keep up with what you have on!?

BCxx · 26/04/2023 15:56

@AnnieApple123 good luck for that, he is amazing, I’ve seen him on tv programmes and he seems to be able to do great things 🤞🏼

BCxx · 26/04/2023 16:03

@BMK yeah the therapist said in the first session with him that it was clearly linked to the environment and not just the way I am as a person. I wish I could do that but as I relied on medication to be able to face it before (that I now can’t take) I just don’t even think it’s worth the extra money for the stress involved so I’ll have to figure something else out at the other side I think. Luckily I don’t need to pay back the maternity pay but it definitely feels good to be ‘using’ them for once rather than the other way round
