@AnnieApple123 ive been thinking of seeing an osteopath so I’m glad you mentioned you got on well!

@sommeliermama I panic over movements too, I’m constantly looking out for kicks and panicking if it’s a bit different than normal!

@unluckyinlife oh that’s so fustrating!😢 no one seems in a particular hurry to get things moving along do they🙄 we’re literally only moving over the road so it’s not really too stressful for us so I really feel for you!

AnnieApple123 · 24/04/2023 06:14

@sommeliermama My DS never had a consistent pattern of moments. Like your baby he had quiet days and active days right through to term. I remember discussing this with the midwife and her being unconcerned. We agreed that his pattern was simply that he didn’t have a pattern.

@ChloeN Yes I would definitely recommend my osteopath and osteopathy in general (although it may be worth looking for a perinatal specialist). My restless legs have just come back again in the last few days so I’m hoping she can fix them again today…

sally16 · 24/04/2023 07:09

@Sjw30 I'm constantly in pain now with my hips :( I noticed I can hear a click when I turn over in bed that seems to be coming from my pubic bone so that's fun! 🤣
I try to keep my knees together when I turn and try to almost slide! It's the least painful then I put my pillow back between my thighs rather than my knees!
I find having big hips that using the pillow between my thighs seems to keep them at ghe best position!

But nothing really helps long term! Just try to grit my teeth and hope it doesn't get worse :( xx

sally16 · 24/04/2023 07:13

@sommeliermama sometimes we can't feel movements for a load of reasons! The babies aren't tiny still but when they turn to the back the movements are cushioned by the placenta ( unless placenta is at front ofc)
Also some movements can be lighter due to position and if your not paying attention or totally relaxed it can't feel like nothings happened!

Last night I was thinking I hadn't felt much.. so I went and lay down on my left for a bit then on my back and started to feel the little thumps! Try not to over think atm!
Having an anterior placenta will dull movements and at 23 weeks we are still early for movements being very pronounced xx

P1pk · 24/04/2023 08:24

@AnnieApple123 thanks for the info on hypnobirthing. I will defo book some classes as I feel like I need them to keep myself sane!

My bump is big but not too big atm as I'm 23+2 today. Can't wait to sleep on my back again!

@Sjw30 I've had this issue since about week 15. It is so painful and now I think either my body is used to it or I'm just too tired to stay awake. I've folded a large soft throw 3 times and put that under me when I sleep and keep a large pillow between my knees and ankles. It doesn't go away and I get the clicking but you sleep longer between the painful signals to turn! I have also found that swimming has helped a bit and defo makes me tired so I sleep longer. Hope that helps

AnnieApple123 · 24/04/2023 09:57

Sorry to hear @sally16 didn’t realise you were suffering with that. I’m just on the way to my osteopath appointment. Getting ready and out of the house without DS this morning was soooo much easier. I’m really appreciating now why I’m already so much more exhausted than I was at this stage in my last pregnancy.

@P1pk Yes the hypno is good I think. As a second-timer I’m really appreciating having one-to-one sessions as so much of it for me relates to particular issues which arose last time.

sally16 · 24/04/2023 09:59

@AnnieApple123 yup since about 9 weeks 🫠 me and DS are heading to ikea to look at big boy beds for him! 😭

AnnieApple123 · 24/04/2023 11:40

@sally16 Hope you find something good. Mine still co-sleeps although I don’t really have a plan for that going forward…

I have a very low tolerance for mess and just don’t have the energy to be tidying up as much anymore, which is not a great combination. Especially as DS is currently into games involving lots of pieces. Osteopath has just been saying to me though that she honestly thinks late pregnancy with a preschooler is much harder than having a preschooler and newborn, so that’s encouraging.

sally16 · 24/04/2023 12:23

Wish i didn't go to IKEA.. DS fucked off within 5 mins and I spent the entire time chasing him and then he ate my bit of cake when I was sorting his drink out 😂

AnnieApple123 · 24/04/2023 16:20

Oh @sally16 that sounds awful! Did you find any good bed options at least?

My birthday is coming up and I was planning on asking for a new nappy bag and sling. I’ve been trying to research what to get though and it feels like a real minefield. I’m more confused than ever.

sally16 · 24/04/2023 16:57

@AnnieApple123 I found one I quite liked but it's just 'ok' so the search continues 😅 I need it by June so plenty time! Rather it was next week though as I've got it in my head I'm going to have the nursery ready by Saturday 😵‍💫🤣

He's a little riot but it was good fun! No one would steal him anyway, he's way to heavy to run with 😂

sally16 · 24/04/2023 16:58

@AnnieApple123 I have a spare sling still in wrapper I got from scotlands baby box your welcome too! I was gonna post it on the fb group next week once I've looked out the spares Incase :) we get them free at all the charity shops unopened!

Spiralout · 24/04/2023 19:34

A strange and embarrassing one today… had a new pain on the left, lower side of my abdomen which was also feeling hot to touch. No temperature, blood pressure fine, baby still moving lots. Turns out it’s constipation!

sally16 · 24/04/2023 19:46

@Spiralout what a weird symptom 😅
Don't worry I've taken my partner to A&E for trapped wind... he was convinced gus appendix burst 🤣

Createcomet · 24/04/2023 20:56

@AnnieApple123 I can totally relate to your feelings of tiredness and acheyness this time round. This is my second and I feel a lot more pregnant this time. Is this a second pregnancy thing?! I was honestly totally fine last time at this stage and not achey or anything. This time I ache soooo much! In my last pregnancy I was walking 3 or 4 miles daily. I walked 3 miles on Saturday and by the end of it was in complete agony, think one of my hips has moved again and need physio to put it back, and also got a burning pain down the centre of my tummy which my midwife says is my stomach muscles starting to separate from overdoing it 🤦‍♀️🤣 very grateful to be pregnant and healthy, but can totally relate to how you're feeling. I feel a bit broken this time 🤣 Also feel much bigger and heavier than last time, even though I don't think I am?! Every pregnancy really is different isn't it!?

To everyone buying/selling, you have my sympathy. I haven't bought a house whilst pregnant but have bought a company. It took 3 years, it still isn't fully finalised with accountants/companies house. Do not recommend 🤣🤣🤣

BCxx · 24/04/2023 21:23

I don’t have the pain as such but it’s just the constant need to pee that’s causing me big problems. We nipped into two shops today and by the second one I was doing almost a waddle trying not to tense up or put any pressure on my bladder because I was getting more and more desperate. It’s like I get way less warning than I did pre-pregnancy since my bladder must have a lot less room in it when it’s so squashed! I’m not enjoying constantly fearing that I’m going to wet myself though 🙈 I find myself choosing black leggings or anything non-risky to wear on the off chance it ever did actually happen 😂

BCxx · 24/04/2023 21:25

Also slightly worried about my lack of urgency in choosing a baby name. Every so often I’ll say to my husband that we should really look at names and by this stage last time we had one picked but because I know so many pregnant people this time and I’m due last, I almost want to hang off in case I get my heart set on one and they choose it. I don’t feel like I can make that sort of decision under last-minute pressure either though!

Amme18 · 25/04/2023 07:20

It’s my second pregnancy here too and it is definitely way harder! Im 26 weeks Friday and ive never reached the second trimester glow!

Tested positive for covid yesterday - should I be calling midwife to let them know? Feel okay, like a bad cold and breathless but it’s how I was last time I had it too. The annoying part is the lack of meds you can take to ease it!

BMK · 25/04/2023 08:20

@Amme18 I don't think there's much they can do/say,just let it pass. Take vitamin C,zinc, vit D. Are you having a girl?(re lack of glow!) Even if you're team yellow it's just speculation re thr glow/sex association anyhow I think largely.
@AnnieApple123 : absolutely. 100% with you re fatigue. It's like Sem1 again, but just the tiredness. I have gone from doing everything to needing to sleep in the daytime. This is in the past week only. Am 24, 4 but it's feeling like 3rd sem. As is the case for the weight of my abdomen: however it seems to be the muscles from being active for too long: if you rest it goes away and if you Continue doing jobs/standing making dinner and particularly bending, stretching or hoovering/mopping it gets worse. (The muscles particularly don't seem to like the bending, hoovering, mopping types). @Createcomet I understand that pain: it's the pain of overdoing it and it's sore! No no no!! I hate walking so 3 miles to me sounds enormous;but if that's all you're doing it's one thing but if you're doing that then continuing as normal with jobs etc, then the pain will definitely be there. Hmm,that said: I slept twice yday and did wfh all afternoon but when I went to make dinner I was exhausted and felt heavy/sore and it took me almost double the time it would normally take(and I hadn't even done anything physical really yesterday!.)
The first pregnancy is forgiving and you can get away with size and amount of things you do and for way longer. @sally16 is your boy 3 in June? Mine is and I'm getting them bunk beds then (*hopefully younger one won't fall out!).
I also retract all notions about wanting to go on holidays before baby born; it's enough to get through the days, plus I feel v large and can't find clothes to adequately conceal (*I don't like the bump look so try to cover/conceal as best I can). Now unless the heat changes me and I just embrace it and wear tight fitting t-shirts or sth!!

sally16 · 25/04/2023 08:41

@BMK he's 4 in December but a total riot so would 100% use the bunk beds as a diving board 😂 were no further forward.. DP and my mum both think the beds I picked are too boring 😵‍💫🤣

Amme18 · 25/04/2023 08:43

@BMK team yellow but I have had the same thoughts re girl! Have a little boy already and this pregnancy is different in so many ways, but also likely because it’s second pregnancy, I’m 33 now rather than 29, a little heavier…a lot tireder 🤣

Createcomet · 25/04/2023 08:54

@Amme18 I never reached the glow either this time. I def did with my first which was very welcome after a really horrible first 16 weeks...but this time I've definitely got more energy than last trimester but still wiped out and feeling crippled. I was 29 last time and am nearly 33 this time. Who knew it would make such a difference 🤣

It's barely 9am and I'm done 🤣 2 Yr old up at 6am, he's very clingy and whiney atm. He's already been in the garden, we've done a load of washing which I'm about to hang out, we've prepped 2 meals worth of curry in the slow cooker so we have something to eat after work this week, he wants to go on his bike and then at half 9 we have stay and play group. I love him so much, but I'd rather be at work at the moment, not gonna lie 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Husband not home until at least 6pm 😭🤣

BCxx · 25/04/2023 12:45

I’m also sooo tired! I couldn’t do a thing yesterday after being out at a few parks at the weekend and doing a bit too much walking. I fell asleep on the sofa watching tv last night which never happens, toddler up at half 6 and I fell asleep on the sofa under a blanket at 7, woke up to him touching my face to see what I was doing 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 I hoover a lot and it seems to be okay but I was in so much pain from mopping the other day, had to sit down after it

BCxx · 25/04/2023 12:52

I’ve still got quite a bit to go until the third trimester so it’s blowing my mind a bit that it’s may next week and my cousin is due just a few weeks before me but I’ve just had a message from her friend with an invite to her baby shower in June, by next week that will only be a month away and she’s due so close to me 🤯 I’m not having one but just can’t believe we’re that close to the end! I keep hearing about things people are doing in august or even September and thinking that’s close enough for you to be talking about it but I will have had another child by then! 😧😂 you’d think after the first one it would be less of a surprise

BMK · 25/04/2023 13:33

@BCxx do you have the hoover that has the handle/Dyson type or the older type one ? I have the older type one which involves more bending so I think it's that. Did your friend (whose details you saw on the appointment sheet) tell you she was pregnant or did she know you were and who is first? @Createcomet your 2 yo getting up at 6 is terrible for you . Have you tried the old cartoons on Netflicks so you can sleep/stay in bed whilst he watches Peppa pig or etc? However he sounds like a good helper given you can get things done with him! @sally16 : I don't know you obviously, but do you think your son takes after you!?(';) He would probably like a bed with a slide but then be bored of the slide after about a week!
Also- does anyone else have varicose veins/veins ? I have had them increasingly so in each pregnancy, in 1 leg mainly, but this time they're worse. This is another reason why this will be the last baby as they're so ugly and not conducive to wearing skirts, shorts etc!
