@Marmaladebear thank you☺️ we’re building so we’ll be living in caravan with the baby until it’s finished, I’m sure that’ll be delightful🫠

AnnieApple123 · 23/04/2023 18:00

Oh goodness @ChloeN that sounds really tricky. Hope it doesn’t end up being very long.

Much sympathy @CityKity . I know how hard it can be to find just the right thing in the timeframe you need. For us it really came down to just two possibilities - our current house and one another. And that was in around a year of looking. Neither were completely ideal. In fact we first viewed our house and rejected it four months before making an offer. I wasn’t pregnant at that point though.

AnnieApple123 · 23/04/2023 18:14

@sally16 I’m slightly envious that you’re feeling well enough to be bored. I’m starting to feel quite uncomfortable now at 26 weeks. I definitely can’t be on my back anymore for more than a minute or two and am so tired. I don’t remember feeling this bad last time, even at the very end.

AnnieApple123 · 23/04/2023 18:16

Does anyone else ever feel like they wish they could take their bump off just for a minute or two just to get some respite.

SouthwestSis · 23/04/2023 18:30

Now everyone's approaching 3rd trimester, don't forget to make sure you're up to date with covid jabs, it can make you really poorly when your bump is big and cause problems for baby if covid causes clots

BusyBushBaby · 23/04/2023 18:36

My sympathies to everyone else who is also trying to buy/sell. It's a bloody nightmare. I've been trying to sell since October this, is the second time it's fallen through (different reasons each time). Currently living with my parents which might slowly drive me insane! But trying to rent a place while still paying the mortgage etc on my house would be a stretch.

overwork · 23/04/2023 18:49

Oh what a shame @BusyBushBaby, you must be so frustrated.
This is why I'll probably be stuck in my one bed for years now, I can't face the whole palaver again!
@sally16 I watched 'Sort your life out' the other day, not my usual kind of thing at all but it gave me loads of inspiration and over the last week I've cleared loads of crap out and sorted new storage etc, that stopped me from being bored for a bit!

AnnieApple123 · 23/04/2023 18:50

@BusyBushBaby Oh goodness, am not surprised you’re struggling living with your parents for that long a stretch. That sounds really hard. I’ve been wondering whether we should go stay with my parents from 37 weeks because they’re nearer to the hospital than we are and the plan is for them to look after DS. Am not sure I’ll be able to stand even that short amount of time though.

sally16 · 23/04/2023 19:08

@overwork I've ordered a shelving unit to sort the laundry room lol I'm very annoyed it's taking until Wednesday to arrive 😅
Getting a fair bit back dated pay this week so going to order new carpet for nursery etc and get the ball rolling but I just cba at the same time 🤣

@AnnieApple12im so glad I feel more human now! I feel for you :( xx3

CityKity · 23/04/2023 19:24

@AnnieApple123 I appreciate the sympathy! It’s really hard to know how much to bend on the ideals we had in mind originally, especially because we’re already stretching ourselves to quite a hefty mortgage. The ‘spring boom’ of houses hasn’t quite sprung as much as we’d hoped so I think part of us is hoping that the right house is just around the corner (she says after looking for a year and a half already 😅)

Also YES would love to take the bump off and hand it over to DH for a while. I’m literally dreaming of the day I can sleep on my back again!

BB1993 · 23/04/2023 20:02

i saw your comment about NIPT @Shinea and am wondering how it’s going ? Hope you don’t have to wait too long !
we had an NIPT just after the 12 week scan due to coming back as high risk, basically my hcg is super high?! But it came back all clear. Hoping you have the same result !

@JT2021 i also have to have a follow up scan at 32 weeks due to a low placenta ! Fingers crossed both of ours move up on their own!!

AnnieApple123 · 23/04/2023 20:03

@sally16 Oh, enjoy that! Sorting the airing cupboard and getting all the towels, etc. folded and ordered neatly has genuinely been one of my most satisfying nesting tasks so far. Such is grown-up life!

I’m particularly uncomfortable today. I think baby may just be in an awkward position and will hopefully shift again. Tomorrow I have a follow-up with the osteopath who fixed my back problem early on and has also amazingly managed to cure my restless legs, so will see what she says.

@CityKity Agreed, it’s really hard to know what to compromise on. I was very determined that I did definitely want to move before DS so in the end compromised on quite a lot. Do I have regrets? Honestly no. Although I’m not in love with our house and don’t view it as our forever home - yet can’t face moving again anytime soon either!

AnnieApple123 · 23/04/2023 20:07

Also @CityKity many years ago on the science show Tomorrow’s World, there was feature where they made a sort of bellycast filled with water which they got men to wear for a full day so that they could experience what it’s like to be nine months pregnant. I wish it was available online to watch online somewhere but I think it’s too old.

AnnieApple123 · 23/04/2023 20:17

@Shinea I had a phone appointment with a genetic counsellor on Friday. It was very complicated stuff but overall worthwhile and has clarified the decision that it wouldn’t make sense for me to do an amnio right now. I’m considering possibly doing the very detailed MaterniT Plus test however as an additional NIPT though. Always happy to chat by PM if you want to. xx

unluckyinlife · 23/04/2023 20:17

@BusyBushBaby I'm sorry to hear about your purchase. It's so stressful. We were due to exchange Friday which didn't happen and is now supposed to happen tomorrow. However, I thought we had to transfer our deposit at least 24 hours before exchange, which we haven't been asked to do yet.

This is the first time we have brought, so it's really stressful. Especially since we are mostly packed and my son is due to start his new school on the 2nd (3 hours away!).

We are meant to be completing on the 29th and if that doesn't happen my DH can't take any time off for a few months.

I just wish we knew what was happening.

I'm suddenly feeling really heavy and pregnant and weirdly emotional and this isn't helping :(

I hope things work out for you soon xx

AnnieApple123 · 23/04/2023 20:18

Fingers crossed for you @unluckyinlife

sally16 · 23/04/2023 20:20

@AnnieApple123 it's an absolute tip right now 😅 and I need to organise it all enough to fit my vanity unit so it's out the nursery 🤣

I don't have enough space in this house!

unluckyinlife · 23/04/2023 20:29

@AnnieApple123 Thank you ❤

AnnieApple123 · 23/04/2023 20:51

@sally16 Honestly our whole house is looking like a tip tonight! DS has gone to my parents’ for a sleepover and I can’t face tidying up. Going to have an early night and do it in the morning…

Sjw30 · 23/04/2023 21:07

I cannot sleep and it’s driving me mad. I’ve had sciatica since quite early on but this lower back pain/pelvic pain is something else, it started a few days ago. I fall asleep on my side easily enough but wake up uncomfortable or to change position and it’s just so painful. Changing to my other side is the worst 😩I feel it may be PGP but my midwife appointment is tomorrow so I will speak to her about it and I’ve got a pregnancy pillow on order.
Anyone have PGP and have any sleep recommendations?

sommeliermama · 23/04/2023 21:14

Is anyone else feeling anxiety over the baby's movements? I have been feeling kicks for the past week and a half but they have been quite inconsistent! Some days I feel lots and some days hardly anything. Went to the hospital to get checked a few days ago as I hadn't felt anything all day but they said baby was fine. I am 23+2 and anterior placenta.

I know most people don't feel a consistent pattern until closer to third trimester but I just can't help but feel worried!

DomesticElf · 23/04/2023 22:06

@Sjw30 try putting a spare duvet (can double it up) under your bedsheet. Also put the extra pillow between your knees (while you are waiting for your pregnancy pillow to arrive). My PGP has started to ramp up now, and these seem to make it more bearable so far. Closer to the end even that didn't really work, and I slept better with a newborn.

Sjw30 · 23/04/2023 22:10

@DomesticElf thank you I’ll try this. Hope you get some relief too.

BusyBushBaby · 23/04/2023 22:15

Good luck @unluckyinlife! I hope it all happens in time.

DesertSnow · 23/04/2023 22:43

Huge sympathies to everyone trying to buy/sell, it's such a nightmare even when you don't have kids or bump to contend with. Hope it works out for you all.

@sommeliermama 100%, so much anxiety. I'm 26 weeks now and still really don't feel very much at all - and my placenta is posterior so it's not that. The midwife at my 25 week appointment was really surprised that I couldn't feel the baby when she was listening in, as she said she was really active. All I can think is maybe it's the position - maybe if she spends the majority of her time with her back towards my belly button, maybe she kicks inwards towards the placenta so I don't feel it? Maybe it's the position your little one is in too? It's so nerve-wracking though, I wish I felt more.
