@overwork they have the results same day usually! I'd just call them tomorrow and ask :) if you say your going on holidays I'm sure they'll be more than happy to chase them up!
No point wasting good food opportunities 😆

sally16 · 20/04/2023 13:55

@overwork or go away oblivious and enjoy yourself without thinking about it all! 😅

LS888 · 20/04/2023 17:13

Had my 25 week appointment today- heard the little heart beat again which is just so reassuring! I asked her about thrush and she basically said you can take canesten but didn’t offer me a prescription. Said I should call my GP to ask for one. So think I’m just going to stick to the natural remedies and hope it clears. It already feels a bit better today. So thanks again for the advice!

newmummie · 20/04/2023 18:02

@LS888 are you struggling with thrush too? It's sending me mad, have had it for weeks now, won't seem to go! :(

BMK · 20/04/2023 18:30

@newmummie try the bread/bicarbonate of soda in water as described one or 2 pages back . You need to take it 3-4 times a day though to keep on top of the infection. It works on the basis that it's alkaline and candida hates the alkaline environment that the bicarb creates. If you take sugar/sweet carb stuff etc it improves the situation for the candida as this creates a continued acidic env that it likes. Sparkling water also good with the bread soda. But if you keep at the b soda you will prevail

LS888 · 20/04/2023 18:35

@newmummie yes, it seemed to flair up yesterday. I’ve not had it during this pregnancy before this. I wonder if I set it off by using some bubble bath the other day as I had a nice long soak the evening before it started.

overwork · 20/04/2023 22:21

@sally16 your second option sounds like the right plan!

DesertSnow · 21/04/2023 08:28

@overwork I wasn't given a time frame for results - they said if they would only be in touch if something was wrong.

Does anybody have any idea when you are given a date for an elected c-section? Or if they still let you go full term?

Trying to plan my mat leave and my cover and I don't really know what dates to plan in. As I would really like to work up until the week before to stretch out my mat leave a little longer as I will only be having 6 months off (I predominantly work from home so it should be fine to do that).

allgoodthings84 · 21/04/2023 13:21

@MinnieFirstTimeMum usually it’s at 39 weeks if it’s a choice rather than it being something medically wrong with baby or you. Could be a couple days before or after. If you were to go into early labour before then it would be an emergency c section unless you then decide to try natural. I had my consultants meeting this week and they told me I should have my date at around 32 weeks. They know I’m not going to change my mind after my previous birth. I’ve seen on here some people don’t find out until around a week before though! It varies trust to trust. I would plan for around 39 weeks as may be as accurate as you get until right close.

sally16 · 21/04/2023 13:23

@MinnieFirstTimeMum I'm getting given my fate at 36 week appointment for 39 weeks xx

Typically it's 39/40 weeks now as standard unless baby needs out sooner :)

I've booked official mat leave for 38 weeks to be safe! X

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 21/04/2023 13:58

Thanks ladies, really helpful 🥰

I think I will provisionally give my mat leave date as 38 weeks then to give me that week.

allgoodthings84 · 21/04/2023 16:09

@MinnieFirstTimeMum saying that I’ve just got my c section date through! I’m only 21+6 so pretty surprised to have it already. All being well my baby girls birthday will be 21st August. Do you know when you have a consultant meeting about your c section? They may apply to book you in after that as that’s what my consultant told me she was going to do after my meeting but said it would be at 32 weeks I find out but looks like it’s been processed quicker

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 21/04/2023 17:58

Aw that is amazing, at least you have a date to work towards 👏🏻 makes things so much easier.

No I haven't had the date for that appointment come through yet, I have my next MW appointment on the 12th May so I will have to follow it up then x

Spiralout · 21/04/2023 19:16

I had a birth options meeting at the end of March and due to see the consultant at 32 weeks on 9 June to get a date for a c-section.
thats great you’ve got a date already, makes it much easier to plan!

allgoodthings84 · 21/04/2023 19:53

@MinnieFirstTimeMum @Spiralout I guess it’s because I didn’t have a birth options meeting first, I went straight to seeing my consultant as they already knew what I was going to do they just wanted to see me to go over what happened in my previous birth as I never found out before and had blocked most of it out of my mind. I’m not sure why my meeting was so early as my pregnancy itself isn’t high risk as far as I’m aware.

DesertSnow · 22/04/2023 17:41

@allgoodthings84 ah that's so exciting you have a date! Shall I update you to the 21st now for the next list?

@DesertSnow that’s a good idea 😊 thank you. It’s so odd knowing but makes it feel a lot more real. This baby is so badly wanted but after 2 losses I’ve been struggling to believe it’s really going to happen for us this time. I’m now starting to believe things are going to be ok

sally16 · 23/04/2023 12:23

Im am bored.. I feel like I should be preparing but I honestly can't be bothered.. I'm gonna make a plan for starting when DS is at nursery Tuesday but does anyone else just feel like there in limbo again..
the weird time between BFP and 12 week scan but now it's the weird time between 20 week scan and birth 🤣

BusyBushBaby · 23/04/2023 13:21

My house sale has fallen through (3.5 months in! We were so close to exchange!). I'm due beginning of August and now thinking even if we find another buyer and somehow manage to keep our onward purchase we still might not be in before baby gets here.

I'm gutted and so frustrated with the UK property selling/purchasing system.

ChloeN · 23/04/2023 14:59

@BusyBushBaby Weve sold our house too and I have no hope that it’ll be done before the babies born and neither of us have a chain🤣🤣 I think it’s just a nightmare in general I was told the normal time is 16 weeks 🤦🏻‍♀️

Marmaladebear · 23/04/2023 15:25

Argh @BusyBushBaby I'm so sorry the sale has fallen through, what a stress! Don't know if this will make you feel better but we're selling/buying too and it's looking unlikely everything will be done before baby gets here... Housing market is so unpredictable! Hope we all end up in our dream homes soon!! All the best for your move too @ChloeN

AnnieApple123 · 23/04/2023 16:09

@allgoodthings84 That makes it sound very real and exciting to have a date now. I have to say I’m really seeing the appeal of knowing the date. I did the first part of the Hypnobirthing course on Friday @BMK and @P1pk and a large part of it was identifying fears. I realised that many of mine are related to the uncertainty of not knowing when labour will begin, getting to the hospital, etc. My last labour (which was in lockdown so we weren’t going anywhere anyway) began with my waters breaking and I’ve been having visions of that happening in the middle of DS’s music class. Am told that’s not at all likely though.

AnnieApple123 · 23/04/2023 16:25

Oh @BusyBushBaby how disappointing and frustrating. We made an offer on our house last time when I was 10 weeks pregnant and ended up moving at 28 weeks. If it had been even a couple of weeks after that, it couldn’t have happened as lockdown had begun and all moves were off.

CityKity · 23/04/2023 16:28

@BusyBushBaby I’m so sorry to hear your house news, the system is so rubbish. You are all further along that I am at least. We sold up last year and have been in our temporary tiny rental for just over a year now 😩.
Nothing is coming up in our budget and I’m starting to get really worried and tetchy with DH about him picking flaws in the houses that we’re viewing. We did put in 2 offers but lost out at best and final because we didn’t thinking the houses were worth it, even though we can technically afford it. Who knows if we’re making stupid decisions or not, I just hate this whole process.
