I think I was told wrong sex for baby - am I crazy?

Went for a private gender scan, 17ish weeks. She sounded really sure and said girl but the more I look the more I see boy!

Am I being completely insane and irrational?

I know there are more important things just can’t stop thinking about it.

Really I think its too early to know for certain at this stage. Babies are still tiny. Just wait until your NHS anatomy scan and see what they say.

Congratulations! I swore the private scan and two nhs scans were incorrect too. They weren't and I had a girl.

I did a urine dipstick that tells you the sex based on hormone levels. It was correct and I had a boy!

It's definitely a raptor of some sort.

The reptile jokes were funny the first 2-3 times but some actual opinions would be quite nice too…

The dinosaurs in Jurassic Park managed to change their sex so whether it's a girl or boy raptor now doesn't matter...

I'm sure it's right but I would hold out announcing until a second opinion at the anatomy scan.

The chances that completely untrained you can tell more from a single still image than a trained sonographer can from a sustained scan they control are nil.

It's not 100% your baby is a girl because it's still early to tell, but don't kid yourself that you know better than the professional does.

It definitely doesn't look like my girls scan pictures but they were taken from a different angle and very clearly were girls.

You only have 3 weeks to wait until your 20 week anomaly scan. I'm sure they'll confirm it's a girl at that point.

Not sure why you think you know better than a sonographer, I assume you are not a trained sonographer yourself?!

The 20 week scan is the anomaly scan NOT anatomy scan...

Op ask again at thr 20 week scan, if they can tell you the sex they will.

It does happen where people are told the wrong sex. I would wait until your next scan and see what they think. Although not all hospitals will tell you the sex so you may have to book another private scan if you want a second opinion.

With those lines, it looks like a girl to me.

That genuinely looks like a girl to me OP, from my own experience and research from my scans. (I’ve had two girls!)

If it helps, this is the 17 week scan of my (very much a girl) 2 year old! I think there's a good similarity.

I'd advise waiting til your 20 week scan.
