I think I was told wrong sex for baby - am I crazy?

Went for a private gender scan, 17ish weeks. She sounded really sure and said girl but the more I look the more I see boy!

Am I being completely insane and irrational?

I know there are more important things just can’t stop thinking about it.

We found out our sons gender around the same time in an obstetrics appointment and it was just a random added bonus.. asked us what we thought first and I didn’t want to be wrong so said nothing.. it was clearly a boy, looked nothing like this, I think the angle was slightly different but there was a little sticky out line in the middle of the rounded surface.. when my 20 week scan came I was asked if I already knew the gender and if I wanted to know and I replied “he should be a boy but it could have been wrong lol” and she barely had to pan over the area before she said he is undeniably a boy and was very pronounced! It was a lot bigger so clearer to see.

you need to bare in mind that when you had your scan, they wasn’t looking at a still photo like we are here. They would have rolled over the area and checked for any nubs and gotten a better view than we are here so try to be a little more reassured that she is a girl and a more thorough look was put into it than looking at a still picture.

at 20 weeks you will get a better and clearer view to settle any thoughts. We didn’t get a pic of the genitalia to take home, just a memory of it 😅

It's definitely a boy. Or a girl. Definitely one of those. Not an alligator. Probably.

You do know that there’s a50/50 chance that the test will give the result matching the sex? These tests are a con.

When my younger daughter was born, they presented her to me bottom first. The doctor said "You have another girl!" but I said "That's a boy- look at his little balls!" He explained that the hormone levels are often elevated, which means the vulva will be swollen and that I was actually looking at a little girl. He had to show me the baby didn't have a penis before I believed him. 39 years later, and my husband still snort-laughs about my "look at his little balls!" comment.
