You're like the Cookie Monster

For pizza 😄😄😄

@cruciverbalista I've heard yoga isn't great for hypermobility that pilates is much better. There's a hypermobility physio called jeannie di bon who does gentle pilates style workouts on youtube if you're interested in something like that.

@Baby1023 that is good to know i am planning on breastfeeding for as long as possible. It didn't enter my mind that the relaxin would still be elevated while breastfeeding as I'd heard it was to loosen your pelvis to give birth. So that's good to be prepared it could be a lot longer than the next 7 months. I am the same with sudden movements feel like something is going to snap.

cruciverbalista · 02/04/2023 20:23

Thanks so much for the recommendation @JoanneV x

Summer022 · 02/04/2023 21:00

Anyone else struggling with a hideous taste in their mouth? Just noticed tonight my mouth tastes almost bitter or gives anything I eat a dodgy taste 😖

DancingNancies · 02/04/2023 21:14

@Summer022 I get that weird taste, but usually when I'm not eating - I think I'm grateful for that as at least my food tastes normal.

Not that I particularly fancy any food atm, alongside the nausea, I've pretty much lost my appetite - poor DH is having to deal with me being even more indecisive than usual! It does mean that when I do fancy something I scoff a tonne of it immediately though, so we're avoiding the scales for a while yet! 😂

Bagsaddict · 02/04/2023 21:36

I have been craving pizza too! We just ordered Dominos in last night, I was desperate.. lol

I have never been a huge pizza fan but this baby is making me crave everything I didn’t use to eat much but hating what I usually love.. 😂

LR94 · 02/04/2023 21:41

Does anyone have a bump yet? I’m not sure if its a bump or just the increased food intake haha. Im currently 10+4.
also i’ve booked a gender scan for when i’m bang on 16 weeks with window to the womb. It says only book if you are 16+ and now i’m worried it might be too early, has anyone else booked anything? xx

BeaKind · 02/04/2023 21:44

@LR94 I had a gender scan bang on 16 weeks last pregnancy (also window to the womb) and it was very clear for them to see the sex. So exciting!

monsteramunch · 02/04/2023 21:45

My bump was definitely there by the middle of week ten @LR94!

I'm now 12 weeks and it's undeniable. I was at a work event and people I know kept doing the thing where they were trying to maintain eye contact but kept flicking their vision between my eyes and my tummy 😂

I'm usually a size ten so not super duper skinny, I'm surprised it's so obvious so soon!

You could ask window to womb to advise whether to move it back a little once you've had your dating scan maybe, then you should know if you're a few days less far along than you thought?

My NHS scan isn't until the middle of week 13 so I've booked a private one for this week as I feel I really need some reassurance things are OK and it'll be good for my headspace.

iloveeggs · 02/04/2023 21:45

@LR94 I'm just super bloated so I feel like that’s giving me a bump more than anything. I’m 11+2 atm.

RooneyRach · 02/04/2023 21:49

@LR94 Mine is booked for when I’ll be 16+1 with window to the womb too and I did wonder the same thing but I think you are actually able to tell earlier than that and they set a limit at 16 weeks probably just to be more certain they’ll be able to see?

PrimarilyParented · 02/04/2023 21:49

sorry I checked out of the thread for a week or so as it’s been insanely busy at work and I’ve had a big fallout with my parents that has had me all over the place emotionally.

I feel enormous and bloated but my OH assured me I don’t look it. That being said one of my work colleagues asked me outright if I was pregnant so I think it must be a little obvious even in loose clothing. I’d told my boss already though and she said this staff member had asked her when I was only about 7 weeks. Think it was probably my exhaustion and not drinking tea any more that gave it away more than the bump.

Chanteuse · 02/04/2023 23:10

I’m feeling a bit anxious tonight about my scan tomorrow! It’s late afternoon too so I’ll have to try and keep myself as busy as possible tomorrow 😩

VictoriaBlossom · 02/04/2023 23:15

@Chanteuse babe you got this! Think about it being T minus 17 hours or so, and you will get nearly half of that in sleep!
We're all here for support. It's a really lovely group to be on when you do have a wobble, plenty of ladies in the same position as you to put your mind at ease. Try to sleep

Chanteuse · 02/04/2023 23:32

@VictoriaBlossom thankyou! I guess it’s just all gonna become real tomorrow and that’s scary!

VictoriaBlossom · 03/04/2023 00:27

@Chanteuse it's real, and it's scary.
But the sigh of relief you have when you see that flashing heartbeat is a weird euphoric feeling.
Keep us posted. What time is the scan

Saturnsmoon · 03/04/2023 03:01

@Chanteuse good luck with your scan today

So I’m based abroad and am really struggling with the health system here…basically the norm is to not receive any results from any tests you have done unless there are problems, in which case you get a call. I think this is just my anxiety talking but I’m really struggling with basically not receiving any ‘reassurance’ when things are fine. Just having to assume that no news is good news and they haven’t forgotten to call or lost my results etc. Is this the same in the UK? I think part of the problem is that I don’t have a huge amount of faith in the health system here (I’m going by all NHS guidance etc rather than local) so think I might feel slightly better about it if I knew the NHS operates in a similar way.

VictoriaBlossom · 03/04/2023 04:53

@Saturnsmoon NHS works like that for me with my thyroid blood tests. If they are "within range" they just don't contact me. If they are out of range they will.
And even if I rang the GP surgery to ask for the blood results they say "yep all ok" opposed to saying what the numbers in the results are.
I had abnormalities with my blood so got the phone call within 24 hours of testing to ask me to have my partners blood tested.
So couldn't tell you if they let you know it's ok with pregnancy related bloods but based on my experience I'd assume they wouldn't contact you unless there's an issue. Regardless of our pregnancy anxiety just think of the amount of admin work it would take up to manage to get hold of every person to say bloods ok

VictoriaBlossom · 03/04/2023 04:53

Insomnia getting to me now. Normally I won't go on my phone but been awake since 2! 😭😭😭😭

JoanneV · 03/04/2023 05:53

@PrimarilyParented sorry to hear you've had a fallout with family. Hope you're not under too much stress.

Since being pregnant I'll never understand why people ask if someone is pregnant, you're taking away all the joy of someone telling you just so you get the satisfaction of guessing right.

@Saturnsmoon if you're in the EU you can request any info by GDPR. I've found if I just pop in and ask for a copy or ask for them to be emailed that works too.

@VictoriaBlossom i woke about an hour ago, good for me its usually 3am. May aswell stay up now and have a glorious nap this afternoon. 😂

BeaKind · 03/04/2023 06:29

@Chanteuse I’m feeling the same. I’ve got mine at lunchtime. I’m so sure it’s going to be bad news. I’ve not had a scan yet so reading doesn’t feel real yet. Have you had one?

@Saturnsmoon I would find that hard as well. My hospital is amazing and they report all my results to me on an app and some come back the same day! Think I’m a lucky one.

@PrimarilyParented sorry to hear about your family fallout. Families can be so difficult as we don’t get to choose them 🥺 A friend asked me a few weeks ago when baby 2 will be on the way. I told her one was enough and I’d never cope with 2. 😂 think that threw her off. Horrible when you’re put on the spot though.

Saturnsmoon · 03/04/2023 06:46

Thanks @VictoriaBlossom it is somewhat reassuring to hear that the NHS operates the same. Hope you managed to get back to sleep.

@BeaKind so glad to hear you are having a better experience, it does strike me that with technology these days it should be so much easier to make this kind of thing automated anyway hopefully the rest of the NHS will follow. Good luck with your scan today.

@JoanneV unfortunately not in the EU - tried to get a print out of results from hospital today and they said it’s going to take 4 weeks to process which seems mad. Enjoy your nap 😉

Alexandra07 · 03/04/2023 07:21

@Saturnsmoon it's a bit similar with NHS, but I can get test results on the phone if I ask. I'll have to specifically ask for numbers or they say, all good, which is not as simple with my thyroid results as the numbers need to be different when pregnant. Try not to stress too much about it.

Good luck to everyone having their scans today! I can't wait to hear your good news! Remember, the chances that everything is fine, are higher than having a problem.

I eat so much junk food. I need to eat every 2 hours or my stomach complains. Fries is my absolute favourite! But I crave sugary drinks like coke which is not good. Sugar free sprite won't do 😒

EMcG3 · 03/04/2023 07:23

@Saturnsmoon - it depends on the hospital/trust. I had my last baby at Whittington, in London, and never got any results. I am now registered at UCLH and have access to my files via an app, and get all of my results. Do you mind me asking what country you are in? Just curious, don't feel obliged to answer. My husband and I are both immigrants from different countries and sometimes I check NHS and his and my countries' home advice and take whichever seems reasonable/favourable to the cause. All 3 are good health health systems and people have healthy babies in all 3.

HappyK1817 · 03/04/2023 08:03

Morning and congratulations to everyone also! <3

I'm a newbie! I am currently 12 weeks pregnant with twins and I have had some on and off brown light spotting since last night. I was wondering if anyone was experiencing this? I have my 12 week scan on Thursday but I am so worried and unable to think of anything else. I went into a&e yesterday evening and was sent home to wait for the EPU to contact me.

(I had an early private scan at 10 weeks and both babies were measuring 3 days ahead)

Has anyone experienced this?
