@Derv1 thinking of you this evening, I hope it all goes well

@Koalawhala another here who will find out the sex at the 20w scan. We found out the first time as I teach so LOADS of names were immediately off the list and I couldn't face coming up with a name for both sexes only not to use one. Second time we found out as my 2yo was absolutely certain he was getting a little brother and we felt we needed time to prepare him if it was a girl. Thankfully he was right and they're thick as thieves!

This time I want to prepare by either washing or selling the mountains of boy's clothes I have so nothing is wasted either way!

Koalawhala · 22/03/2023 19:53

@DancingNancies i feel the same way about the clothes! I have SO many girls clothes from two DD. Not super girly stuff so I’m sure most would be good for a boy but all really needs a sort out.
Totally happy either way but excited to find out what this one is and to be able to tell our girls whether it’s a brother or sister

iloveeggs · 22/03/2023 20:02

@OrionNebula I know, I was like well i'll keep it a surprise for you if you want but I'm finding out. I fucking hate surprises, it gives me anxiety. I'd rather know and prepare, pick out names, and I think it'll make it feel more real knowing the sex.

Jigglemonster · 22/03/2023 20:29

Unfortunately I didn't try anything medical last time @Koalawhala because it peaked during lockdown so I had a video pilates instructor qualified in helping with spd/pgp 1-1 which helped a bit for stretches mainly but it was pretty awful generally. I did have a belt but am going to call my health insurance tomorrow and see if I can get anything covered, was thinking a physio but actually an osteopath is a good shout too. I've had previous good experience with acupuncture (old knee injury) so might try that too. It's weird how many pregnancy ailments there are and how few are public knowledge. I hadn't heard of it until I got it last time, same with bleeding gums - though at least that's just weird rather than sore!

DancingNancies · 22/03/2023 21:05

@Koalawhala same, we have some things that wouldn't be suitable for a girl, although the majority is fine it'd be handy to sort out everything and decide what we want to keep and what can be sold - especially in the older sizes as they've started to get more opinionated (read, more spiderman t-shirts!).

@iloveeggs a relative found out with their first when her partner didn't want to know - it became pretty obvious when she only wanted to discuss boy's names and headed for the boy's section of the clothes shops though!

@Jigglemonster I'll never understand why all the info surrounding pregnancy is about the climax - baby coming out is actually the quickest bit and the bit you can have least control over. It'd be nice to know what's going to happen to me for months on end before and after the birth though, oh, and what on earth to do when I'm handed a tiny human and told they're my responsibility for life now! 😂

iloveeggs · 22/03/2023 21:07

@DancingNancies Myself and my partner both want to know. I was speaking about my mother in law 😂

Derv1 · 22/03/2023 21:23

overgrowngrass · 23/03/2023 05:04

@Chanteuse I can relate to the strong emotions and feeling you have the weight of the world. I had two days last week where I felt so hopeless and despondent! Totally the opposite of my normal disposition. How you doing now? 💐

kingfisher168 · 23/03/2023 05:57

I am with you @Derv1 , let people do whatever they want to do!

I quite liked someone saying on of these chats that 'it is a surprise either way, you just find this one out a few months earlier than you would otherwise, helps spread out the 'joy' before baby comes' ☺️, so that's how I look at it.

kingfisher168 · 23/03/2023 05:58

Sorry, wrong tag @Derv1 xx

ttcttc · 23/03/2023 06:09
