I think I spoke too soon about my lack of nausea. I feel a little in the morning but not a lot. Last night I suddenly felt very off. I didn't throw up but I was very nauseous. This morning the nausea just won't go away. I've not actually been sick but I feel it's going to happen. Completely off food. Could barely stomach my usual tea. 7 weeks 1 day today

@OrionNebula @Saturnsmoon ( two space themed tags!) Your body is producing lots more blood volume right now. More blood needs a higher water content, hence the thirst.

I'm finding it hard to get enough to drink too. I'll end up with a uti at this rate!

Ah that makes sense!

NSx · 15/03/2023 08:39

@VictoriaBlossom how did it go? 💜💜 did they do abdominal or vaginal?

my booking appt isn’t until 28th, will let u know how the scan goes X

Saturnsmoon · 15/03/2023 09:28

@Needtobuildabridge aaah that’s good to know thank you - some of these early symptoms have really surprised me, breathless one being another, which I think again is to do with blood volume and heart rate?

@MeganC104 my nausea and sickness peaked at 7 weeks. I’m almost 11 now and generally feeling a bit better. Hope the same thing happens for you 💐

VictoriaBlossom · 15/03/2023 10:51

@NSx nah abdominal and dated a couple of days behind but she wasn't worried
Could see the little heart beat, my mum got a bit emotional bless her

monsteramunch · 15/03/2023 11:04

Ah that's so lovely @VictoriaBlossom Flowers

VictoriaBlossom · 15/03/2023 11:36

@monsteramunch I'm an only child and my dad passed away so really close to my mum. She's excited to be a grandparent

blebbleb · 15/03/2023 12:10

I have a private scan in just over an hour. I said I wasn't going to have one but I had a mmc in December so would like some reassurance. I'm 8+3. I'm hoping for an abdominal scan. I've had a vaginal one before which wasn't too bad but would rather avoid it. Did any of you manage just an abdominal scan at this stage?

PeopleAreToads · 15/03/2023 12:18

Had my booking in appointment this morning and was done in under an hour, midwife said that was a good sign it was a straightforward pregnancy with lower risks. We have some history of heart defects on both sides, but midwife reassured me the risk is still very low and they'll do all the checks as early as possible

Apparently I'll get my scan appointment through the post next week. She said my trust are doing them around 13 weeks at the minute but because I think I'm about 5 days ahead of the date they're using based on LMP, and the bank holidays falling when it's due, mine could be a bit later. So she's requested they do it a bit sooner so I can get it before 14 weeks so they can do the NT checks

That's so, so lovely Flowers

VictoriaBlossom · 15/03/2023 12:58

@blebbleb my private at 7w and nhs at 8w were both fully visible via abdominal this time round

Flying12 · 15/03/2023 13:11

What supplements is everyone taking? I’m just on folic acid and vitamin D at the moment but don’t know whether to start omega 3 DHA soon (feel like I eat a balanced diet to get everything else in just not enough fish etc)

ali2021 · 15/03/2023 13:15

Thanks, @BeaKind - all went great thanks! At 9+2, we saw our little bean waving arms, kicking legs and a good strong heartbeat! So doc said not to worry in the slightest about having no symptoms. Only for I've had IVF, I can see how people can go so far along and not know they are pregnant!

Alexandra07 · 15/03/2023 13:40

@Flying12 I take pregnacare that has folic acid and vit D. If you are low risk and have a healthy diet, you need only folic acid and possibly vit d during winter.

Congratulations to everyone who had their scans!

blebbleb · 15/03/2023 13:51

@VictoriaBlossom they managed an abdominal scan with no issue. Saw a little heart beat! They measured me at 7+4 when thought I was 8+3 but they didn't seem concerned. Is anyone else measuring behind?

Hankthehonk · 15/03/2023 13:54

@blebbleb Congratulations to you and everyone else who has had positive scans!
I had mine on Sunday, I thought I was 7w3 or 7w4 but they dated me at 6w6.
It feels like a lot when we're counting every day at the moment but I'm trying to reassure myself it's nothing to worry about. The sonographer wasn't concerned.

blebbleb · 15/03/2023 14:19

@Hankthehonk good to hear they weren't concerned either. I guess at this stage it's so tiny it's hard to accurately measure. The sonographer said the 12 week dating scan would be more accurate.

JoanneV · 15/03/2023 14:39

8+4 nausea is so bad I'm trying to not get upset. It's just exhausting feeling like you're gonna get sick constantly but never do. The only respite is eating but I can't be chomping down food 24/7. Plus I think my appointment letter got sent to my parents place and they'll definitely ask me about it because I never get post there anymore. I have a half baked excuse lined up but I hate having to lie. I would just rather keep it to ourselves until after the scan if possible.

PeopleAreToads · 15/03/2023 14:42

@blebbleb I had the opposite and measured a similar number of days ahead at my early scan. They told me before it's normal to see variation either way, because there's so much assumption in LMP days, because we all ovulate on different days and there's quite a range of time from ovulation to implantation

Hankthehonk · 15/03/2023 14:44

@JoanneV assuming they'd only see the envelope can you just say you're expecting a smear test appointment and it's probably that?

NSx · 15/03/2023 15:38

@VictoriaBlossom so got my scan and everything is looking perfect, all normal and saw the wee heart beating away✨🤍 she measured me at 8+1 so DD would be 24/10 now but she said that this might change.
she scanned me abdominally too which was great 😊 such a relief ✨

Smiffette · 15/03/2023 15:40

I'm really hoping my scan letter comes through soon but I have this feeling it won't come through until after midwife appointment next week. Then I am on holiday the week after!

Being pregnant, wfh and having a shop 1 minute walk away is not good when you just want to be eating constantly! lack of sleep last night isn't helping!

ttcttc · 15/03/2023 15:49

Just catching up. Glad it's not just me eating everything in sight. It's getting me down though!

JoanneV · 15/03/2023 16:28

@Hankthehonk usually that'd be fine but i had to have cells removed last year and then told I don't need to come back for three years after I was retested anf tested negative and she knows all that. If I told her I had to go back it would worry her. I'll think of something. Hopefully she won't press me too much about it cause I'll just crack. 🙈

OrionNebula · 15/03/2023 16:58

So had the harmony test today. All good on the scan, it's amazing how much more the little peanut looks like an actual baby compared to the 7 week! But in a way that makes me more anxious as it will be that much harder if there is bad news on the blood results 🙁 they said I should have them in 7-10 working days.
