@Hopefulx I totally get you on the body temp front. I had a full on clammy hot flush at work today and had to go and stand by the open window for a while.

DancingNancies · 16/03/2023 18:11

I've been told to take 150mg of aspirin daily as I was medicated for high BP last pregnancy - the midwife said this reduces the chance of it happening again - interesting that it seems to be a solution for so many things!

I can totally relate to the heavy body all over exhaustion, it's horrible as no number of early nights has shaken the feeling!

I'm also relieved to know I'm not alone with a dodgy body temperature too - I've been having cold shivers and sleeping with my heated blanket on low all night long. Also still very nauseous at random and have awful heartburn too.

This pregnancy is already so different from my last 2, I'm hoping baby won't be more troublesome than my boys as I don't think I'd cope 😂

LaVitesse2022 · 16/03/2023 18:34

Another one with exhaustion here! I'm 9+4 and it's been going on for weeks now. I've been napping almost everyday when wfh. It's that feeling that I must've done something wrong to feel this tired, ran too much, not getting 8 hours of sleep or something, but then realise I'm pregnant and body busy growing a new human so ah, that makes sense 😅

VictoriaBlossom · 16/03/2023 20:09

Hey ladies.
8w today, had my early scan and saw heartbeat, booked in with midwife yesterday and had my bloods.
Walked through the door to find my beautiful perfect little doggo had decided to open my mums Mother's Day gift from Amazon, a bar of fruit and nut.
So off to the emergency vet, of which I'm in absolute BITS because she's my world. Had to watch them make her sick and she was really sad, they kept her in overnight too... so I barely slept.
Had the phone call today to say my bloods have come back and I have sickle cell trait (which I knew) and they asked for my boyfriend to go in for tests asap.
I was so exhausted so I napped for an hour and woke up with the worst palpitations?
Has anyone had that?

And then tonight I've wiped and it's tinged pink, of course now I'm just worried because the last time I had stress whilst pregnant I lost the baby.
Tell me your positive pink tinged discharge stories please?

NSx · 16/03/2023 20:18

@VictoriaBlossom awww I can relate to your last post so much!
my cat ate a Lily about 9 months ago and spent 2 days in the hospital for small animals and cost me a small fortune, thank God they got to him in time and he didn’t do any permanent damage or poison himself however I too was in bits I hope you’re ok 🤍 sending a big hug.
I’ve also had loads of heart palpitations and I read online it’s due to the extra blood pumping through your body due to pregnancy and completely normal, so try not to worry xx

VictoriaBlossom · 16/03/2023 20:23

@NSx we seem to have lots in common.
Yeah £380 later she's running round the house like she didn't just cost me practically a weeks wage for a chocolate bar 😂
I guess in these early days you're so hypersensitive to everything.

On another note- When I had my midwife appointment yesterday she asked if I did any recreational drugs such as cannabis, cocaine or heroin.... since when was heroin a recreational drug? It's really played on my mind that it's played down in such a way

NSx · 16/03/2023 21:02

@VictoriaBlossom well we were £1500 for my cat to have bloods taken, full system flushed out on an IV for 2 nights & they shaved half his fur he looked homeless. So I think your dog won at life with that one 😂😂😂🥹💜

I see people in my work on heroin (I work in a drs surgery) I can confirm heroin is not recreational 🥲😭😂 that is wild isn’t it

VictoriaBlossom · 16/03/2023 21:13

@NSx although there really are functioning heroin addicts out there. I met a bloke years ago, well spoken, career driven..... smack head 😂

Needtobuildabridge · 16/03/2023 21:29

Is anyone else the size of an actual house?

I'm normally a size 8/10 and I've put on almost 10 pounds. My stomach is massive, and I look about 5 months pregnant already. 11 weeks today 🙈
My mum said that she showed really early in her pregnancies!

Smiffette · 16/03/2023 21:59

@Needtobuildabridge yes I can totally relate! I definitely did not feel this big/bloated or put in any weight by this point in my last pregnancy. I'm 9+1 and have put on 7lbs now but feel like it's twice that.
I feel hungry for carbs all the time but also feel full up to my throat all the time! 🤷🏼‍♀️ like at Christmas when you've just eaten way too much for a few days and you need to detox

VictoriaBlossom · 16/03/2023 22:41

@Needtobuildabridge yeah absolutely. Jeans feel tight already and I just wanna pig out on McDonald's sausage muffins every day

Needtobuildabridge · 16/03/2023 22:43

But I'm not pigging out! I wouldn't mind if I had 😂
My jeans are a distant memory and I've already had to buy some maternity trousers. I'm going to be a whale by October 🐳 😂

Natacat · 16/03/2023 22:44

@Needtobuildabridge i have gained so much weight!! I never weighed myself at the start but I feel absolutely massive having been so small before! None of my jeans fit and all of my work trousers look ridiculous!

I think it’s really noticeable like I definitely look 5 months pregnant. I’m going to be pure hippo by the end!

NSx · 16/03/2023 23:09

@VictoriaBlossom the ones I see are not functioning let me tell you 😂😂😂😅😅😅😅.

I feel like I want to eat all the time then when I do I feel ill.
acid reflux is bad for me along with the waves of nausea & I had a horrible taste that comes and goes 😭

yet I too will be massive 🥲

overgrowngrass · 17/03/2023 07:27

I can definitely relate to feeling huge already! Jeans are an absolute no-no now. Just trying to go with the flow but definitely need to order some new clothes. Aiming to invest in some loose shapeless dresses as I’m trying to keep it hidden until 20 weeks.

Had a private scan yesterday, baby is fine and saw the heartbeat 💕 I was measuring a little ahead so due date has gone from 28th to 23rd October.

Due October 2023 - thread 3
lighthousechristmas · 17/03/2023 08:53

@Alexandra07 High BMI - Can make things harder to see baby apparently. Although i was suprised that they book it so far in advance.

Summer022 · 17/03/2023 09:04

Got my booking appointment today at the gp surgery which is good as finally getting it done. Feeling a bit stressed though as I cannot stop myself from being sick and don’t want to embarrass myself in the gp waiting room by throwing up!! Need to try and get through it

Fifianne · 17/03/2023 09:06

I went for a scan yesterday at my EPU and also changed due date to 23rd October. 💜 but I feel I can totally relate I’m living in PJ’s the moment I step home just for comfort. Even gym leggings are becoming uncomfortable. I wish I could stop reaching for carbs but it’s the only thing that eases sickness. Xx

EMcG3 · 17/03/2023 09:37

@Needtobuildabridge - yeah, also pretty big tummy here, too, though I have had 2 pregnancies really close together I mostly wear a hoodie and maternity jeans now, which feels weird as until now, I have always dressed very formally for work. No one commented on the change of pace (though the hoodie is from a supplier and it is kind of a joke that I ended up with it) so I think people really are pretty oblivious.

Klex · 17/03/2023 10:58

So not only am I 11 weeks, but I have norovirus AND covid.

Happyhappy39soon40 · 17/03/2023 11:04

Update :-

I've miscarried. Thanks for all the support.

SnookyPook · 17/03/2023 11:08

@Happyhappy39soon40 so so sorry my love. Sending massive big hugs. 😞

SnookyPook · 17/03/2023 11:09

@Klex oh that sounds horrible. Hope you're bearing up ok. X

BeaKind · 17/03/2023 11:37

Oh @Happyhappy39soon40 so sorry to hear your news. Sending you lots of hugs. 😢

BeaKind · 17/03/2023 11:40

I also feel like I might need to order some maternity jeans soon my tummy is really showing but hoping people will just think I’m putting on weight 😬 my mum is a super sleuth though and it will be really hard to keep this from her for another 3 weeks 🙈

Also, not sure if this will help anyone else but I’ve found chewing gum is really helping me from stopping eating and keeping any nausea waves I do get at bay.
