@OrionNebula Good luck, I have my NIPT in 2 weeks time, so equally will be a bag of nerves. Let me know how you get on ! 🤞✨

Ss32 · 15/03/2023 17:33

I’m nearly 12 weeks now and the constant need to eat seems to have calmed down now so don’t worry about that one too much guys! I’m full of cold at the mo so it has to be take away for tea for us!

@blebbleb I had a scan when I was 7+2 and it was measuring at 6+4. Because I had IVF and my days are 100% accurate she was slightly concerned and wants me to have more scans. However the heartbeat was 142bpm which she said is really good and sometimes they can just be small and catch up at a later date. I wouldn’t worry, if you aren’t bleeding I think its quite common to show up small, stay positive ❤️ i know its easier said than done, but there is nothing you can do to make it grow quicker, its just a waiting game xxx

PrimarilyParented · 15/03/2023 21:02

@blebbleb the dates aren’t always accurate this early on as the difference between days is mm. you also could well have ovulated or implanted late.

in my last pregnancy I had lots of early scans because of bleeding and the dates varied significantly but by the 12 week scan the dates were set and stayed the same throughout, my due date was exactly what I knew it would be as I 100% knew the date I had conceived as it was an accident. I wouldn’t worry about dates being a few days out.

@Happyhappy39soon40 I’ve been thinking of you and hoping tomorrows scan goes well for you.

blebbleb · 15/03/2023 21:25

@PrimarilyParented and @LR94 thank you for the reassurance. In all honesty it looks like a blob with a heartbeat at this stage so I guess the measurements won't be accurate. It was nice to have some reassurance though!

Will definitely update you all.

blebbleb · 15/03/2023 21:27

I definitely think I ovulated late actually. Symptoms have taken longer to show up and my positive tests took longer to show!

It's possible especially if you don't track ovulation.
My measurements showed me a week behind but no heartbeat was present. Tomorrow I will know for sure what's going on.

blebbleb · 15/03/2023 21:41

@Happyhappy39soon40 fingers crossed tomorrow goes well for you x

Itsokaymama · 15/03/2023 21:49

Has anyone else been told to take aspirin daily due to prev small baby? Took me by surprise as nobody told me my daughter was considered a 'small baby' when she was born. However i do recall her cord being thin🤷🏼‍♀️

Alexandra07 · 15/03/2023 22:07

@Happyhappy39soon40 I'll be thinking of you, the wait for this scan must have felt so long! I hope everything goes well!

Happyhappy39soon40 · 15/03/2023 22:15

@Alexandra07 @blebbleb thank you so much

Natacat · 15/03/2023 22:21

@Itsokaymama I’ve been told to take it daily from 12 weeks to term due to previous losses. I’ve never taken aspirin before so I’m a little anxious, but the midwife said there’s absolutely no downside to taking it.

obviously not the same reason as you, but maybe it’s along the same research?

if I come out with an 11lb baby like DP was, I’ll be having words 🙈

Itsokaymama · 15/03/2023 22:32

@Natacat thats reassuring, it must have lots of benefits! same here ive never taken it before so hope it agrees with me, i very rarely even take a paracetamol 😂

Oh wow haha if the asprin increases your birth weight you might be in for a shock

@Happyhappy39soon40 good luck for tomorrow🤞🏻

blebbleb · 15/03/2023 22:38

@Itsokaymama I've been told to start it soon as I had severe preeclampsia in my first pregnancy. I think it's used for various things. After 12 weeks for me I think

@JoanneV depending on what the envelope looks like, I had a bit of a flurry of random NHS letters with them asking me to take part in a random Covid test survey. They kept getting delivered to my parents house and I think my parents were intrigued about why I was getting so much post from the NHS but you could use that as a reason and say it’s an invitation to be involved in a quick surgery? X

lighthousechristmas · 16/03/2023 08:35

Ive been told to take aspirin because of my BMI. Interesting that it is used for so many things

VictoriaBlossom · 16/03/2023 10:22

Aspirin was demonised when the cheaper paracetamol came out.
Aspirin is a great drug, very few side effects and has been around for years.
My friends dad was a GP in the 80's and I had a bit of a lesson in big pharma a few years ago.
Basically the margins on paracetamol are far higher, so they pushed consumers to buy paracetamol, and to began to phase out prescribing aspirin.
But now there's many papers coming out linking paracetamol intake with brain defects and learning difficulties of babies from mothers who took certain quantities of paracetamol whilst pregnant.
Same with iodine, they're saying the actual quantities of iodine in our pregnancy tablets is less than half of what it should actually by to maintain a healthy brain function for babies, I've upped my iodine intake with the foods im eating, along with my preg supplements being over 150ui

NSx · 16/03/2023 10:41

@Itsokaymama yes my sister in law had to take aspirin for the same reason. Baby girl was born in November healthy and a good weight so don’t worry.

I was prescribed it last year for low pap-a .

I think it’s normal to get it, they prescribe it for many reasons x

SnookyPook · 16/03/2023 10:47

I was prescribed aspirin in my first pregnancy as my sister had had pre-eclampsia. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Didn't have a big baby though! DS was born at 41+1 and weighed 6lbs15oz!

Expecting I'll be taking it again this time. Particularly as I did get high BP the last few weeks of my previous pregnancy, though thankfully never progressed to full preeclampsia.

iloveeggs · 16/03/2023 11:19

I have been MIA for a little bit as I was on holidays. Had another scan today and baby is measuring 9 weeks, heard the heartbeat beating strong too ❤️

I've been prescribed aspirin too to prevent miscarriage I think?

Also has anyone else been told they will need anti d medication? I’m rhesus negative.

@iloveeggs yaaay look at that bean! Hope you had a good holiday.
You must be thrilled x

LaVitesse2022 · 16/03/2023 12:00

@iloveeggs oh look at that gorgeous scan! Such a difference from the ones you get at 7 weeks! Can't wait for my 12 week one.

I think I might have to as I'm rhesus negative too. But haven't had my booking appt yet so might know more then.
