@TeddyBeans I will be right behind you I think. Its my first and I keep thinking this is it because I have so many tightening, lightning pains and pressure but nothing seems to happen. Be interesting to see if midwife thinks baby is engaged tomorrow. I don't mind being overdue just don't want a big baby they measured my bump only once at 28 weeks and said it was measuring 30 but that's normal and then they haven't done again since.

How odd! I get measured every time, do you have very regular growth scans instead to plot you on the chart?

Cuppasoupmonster · 15/02/2023 19:10

Bump size isn’t that accurate - mine is measuring spot on yet baby is around 90th centile 😳 you can ask for induction at term if you want to reduce the odds of a big baby/c-section?

@TeddyBeans adorable! Do you think he understand he’s getting a baby sister? Fingers crossed something kicks off for you soon! I’m still holding out hope I will go into labour naturally the day before my induction date 😂

DD seems to be understanding more and more about her new baby brother, and asked tonight if they could share a bed 🥰 I said he can most definitely jump in for cuddles with her when he’s old enough!

TeddyBeans · 15/02/2023 20:13

@Saltandpepperr @Suchardchoccy forgot to say welcome to the chatty bunch 😁 we fill up threads quickly so this probably won't be the last one!

Salt - I think they have to engage a little bit before you start getting the lighting crotch so hopefully you'll have good news from the midwife tomorrow! Little miss was 4/5ths palpable when I had mine on Monday and I think it was last Friday that she's visibly dropped and the lightning crotch really started. Fingers crossed for you!

@Cuppasoupmonster oh he definitely understands. A lot of his friends have smaller siblings and he absolutely loves babies. He's very excited to give her cuddles and has asked if he can feed her milk and help change her nappy.

I love that your DD has asked for cuddles in bed with her little brother, that is seriously adorable 😍

@havanamama I don't have any growth scans I had my last scan at 20 weeks. And last and only bump measurement at 28weeks. I'm very petite usually 5.2 and 9stone-ish but my belly is massive I'm hoping it's just a lot of water and not a big baby!
@TeddyBeans that's good to know it's been about a week for me with all these little pains I've been getting. Sometimes I can't even walk up my stairs.

TeddyBeans · 15/02/2023 20:57

@Saltandpepperr I can't remember exactly but DS' fundal measurements were on the larger side. He was born at 39+3 and weighed 8lbs 4oz. It was weird having no idea what sort of size he would be. Even though he weighed a decent amount and was pretty average length - 51cm, he still fit into a 'tiny baby' vest (I think it was up to 6lbs or something)

We went out for dinner yesterday and half way through it baby girl had hiccups that I could feel high near my ribs. I freaked out a little bit because she’s been head down for the last 7 weeks and hiccups are normally really low down. I spent 15 mins trying to spin/push her head down and probably freaked out my in laws and people in the restaurant “Not today, you’re not going to turn breech on me baby girl!” 😂

🤣🤣 managed to miss this earlier. Have you worked out what position she's in?? Hopefully she hasn't gone back breech!

OP posts:
Rose429 · 15/02/2023 21:19

Thanks! @TeddyBeans I think I have managed to keep her head down then. Today I didn’t notice if she has had more hiccups, but definitely can feel the familiar bump which I believe is her bum near my ribs again!

TeddyBeans · 15/02/2023 21:45

@Rose429 actually saying that I don't think little miss has had hiccups today 🤔 very unusual! It's good that she feels like she's in a familiar (head down!!) position 🤞 she doesn't give you the slip while you're sleeping or something ridiculous 😱😱

Sitting on my ball tonight to try and little lady head down, will be doing it for the next 2 weeks so I can try and get her in the best position for my sweep

Choc2022 · 15/02/2023 22:24

@ChristmasJumpers I'm the same. Mentally clocked out of work and it just seems busier/ I seem slower. Still a month of work to go for me!

@havanamama is leaking Amniotic fluid the same as mucus plug and/or waters going?

Rose429 · 15/02/2023 22:33

@TeddyBeans Good news she just had hiccups in my bum! Definitely 🤞 she stays that way for another 5 weeks x

Waters = amniotic fluid

Katlouise24 · 15/02/2023 23:29

Ignore me placemarking late🫣

Rainbowbaby23 · 15/02/2023 23:51

How often are your babies having hiccups?
I feel like my baby is hiccuping a lot😂

Obabybaby · 16/02/2023 02:19

I’ve been following these threads for a while now - they are keeping me sane. Currently 35+4 with my second and feeling it! Due 19 March with a little boy 💙I was also on the Facebook group but seem to have lost that in the last week or so - could I have the link to get added back in?

Dreamingof3 · 16/02/2023 07:30

@Obabybaby same due date as me 😄

JTB123 · 16/02/2023 08:21

Going up with reduced movements this morning as it's been bugging me for the last 24 hrs ish, but now I'm sat in the car park I can feel the buggar 🤣

But it would only annoy me if I didn't come 😖 why do they do this 😆

Nettlestea · 16/02/2023 08:27

Can I join too please, I’ve been keeping up with the threads, I’m due my third baby on March 20th, my first boy, doesn’t feel far away now. My local hospital have stopped gas and air due to ventilation problems, the only pain relief I’ve used so far, I’m scared, have asked for a homebirth now because they can bring the canisters, hopefully won’t need to transfer to hospital, it feels so unfair.

iratepirate · 16/02/2023 08:56

@Nettlestea hi and welcome! So frustrating to hear about your hospital’s ventilation issues.
I’d asked for home birth too but have been told I can’t because they won’t have enough staff or canisters to supply. Makes me worry that they’ll be short-staffed in the actual hospital, too.

Shep21 · 16/02/2023 09:05

Anyone else suffering with swollen feet/ankles/legs/hands? I’m waking even more during the nights due to pins and needles in my hands (sometimes completely numb) and constantly trying to stay asleep on my side but with my legs up on a pillow to help the swelling!

I spoke to my midwife last week about this, was referred to PAU but they weren’t concerned as my BP was normal. So guessing I’m just going to have to deal with this!

The only hope I have is it’s my first day of maternity leave today and so I can start to relax more🤞🏻🙈

TeddyBeans · 16/02/2023 09:12

@Rose429 excellent news! 🥳

@Rainbowbaby23 usually at least once a day here. Yesterday was the first time since I went in for reduced movements that she hasn't had hiccups for the whole day

@Obabybaby oh that's weird, I had someone else ask me about rejoining the FB group the other day. Not sure what happened 😕 will pm you!

@Shep21 is it a lot of swelling that's happened quickly? I started to get really noticeable swelling from about 36 weeks and my BP and protein went high at 39 weeks. If you have a monitor, keep an eye on your BP. It can go up suddenly

OP posts:
TeddyBeans · 16/02/2023 09:13

@JTB123 always the way! Still best to get checked over in case the monitoring picks up on any fetal distress ❤️

OP posts:
Shep21 · 16/02/2023 09:22

@TeddyBeans It was quite sudden mid-end last week - there was +1 protein in my urine at my routine apt and higher BP - hence being sent in to be checked.

Luckily we have a BP monitor at home so will be keeping an eye (never thought of that before - think I was obsessing with finishing work!).

Will be 36 weeks on Saturday, so just hoping symptoms ease off this week or baby comes early - not sure I fancy 4+ weeks of this!

Rebecca85x · 16/02/2023 09:33

Morning all, I too have been following these threads for months, it’s been super helpful! I’m 36+3 First baby for us due 13th March 💛
I was also on the Facebook page but seem to have dropped out, could I too have the link again?
