@Rainbowbaby23 hope your tests come back clear. I got preeclampsia at 39+1 last time and went into hospital to get checked over. I was induced that night and he was born at 39+3. I think they only did that because I was so close to being full term, they'd probably try meds for you first if you do have it

@AGirlsNameIsAryaStark omg all the time. I had a sweet craving the other day and ate 5 strawberry jam sandwiches. It was ridiculous!

I've just got back from my midwife appointment. She's 4/5ths again but the midwife said that I'm making all the right noises with the lightning crotch and the Braxton hicks and the mucus plug. I'm definitely having a sweep next week but she suggested doing a reflexology session and said when she had one it started her labour off within an hour. My usual massage place does it so I'm going to see if I can book one in!

Is anyone else just insatiably hungry all the time? 34 weeks today and literally all i can think about is food when i've already eaten!

Yes, me!!! I could eat pastries, tropical fruit and bourbons dunked in coffee all day long 🤤 (decaffe obviously)

Rainbowbaby23 · 13/02/2023 12:48

Bp has came away down to 130/90, still high for me as I usually have low bp but they arent concerned

Some nights I wake up at 4/5am starving to the point I can't sleep until I have eaten! Cereal at 5am is a bit of a running joke now in our flat 🤣🤣

AGirlsNameIsAryaStark · 13/02/2023 13:58

@TeddyBeans @Cuppasoupmonster @Perexi so glad its not just me, just had a big bowl of pasta for lunch and already wondering what i can have for dessert 😂

TeddyBeans · 13/02/2023 14:04

@AGirlsNameIsAryaStark I may have had pasta and two Belgian buns for my lunch 🫣

I am the complete opposite! Really struggling to feel in the mood for food (unless it's a jammie wagon wheel 😂) got told off for ketones in my urine last week from not eating enough 😬

iratepirate · 13/02/2023 14:26

Gosh, I wish I had any appetite at all. I just feel so nauseous all of the time. Today I’ve managed two clementines and a couple of bottles of water.

Blocklynn · 13/02/2023 15:13

I feel full all the time. Have had to reduce how much I’m eating otherwise I feel dreadfully stuffed.

@Cams50 congratulations!!

@Cuppasoupmonster I had a terrible cramp in my calf last weekend, I was like a ballerina it forced my toe to point so much.
Took about 4 days for the pain in my calf to totally go away.

LaForza101 · 13/02/2023 15:14

I've started mat leave today and already feel bored and restless. C section is supposed to be booked in for a week on Friday but no pre op appointment yet. I rang them and they said to ring again next week if I don't hear anything. I hope that sorting out dates last minute means you are less likely to be bumped on the day but I just want more reassurance the end really is in sight!

TeddyBeans · 13/02/2023 20:06

@LaForza101 a day and you're already restless?? I've been on maternity since Christmas and it's been glorious being able to put my feet up and relax 🤣 it turns out I could have gone to Feb half term but I've had so many midwife appointments and scans in the last 6 weeks that it didn't seem worth the hassle

Splashh · 13/02/2023 21:03

@TeddyBeans I met my midwife today and she booked me in for some sweeps at 39 weeks, I’m still on the fence about having them though. What do people think, has it worked for you before?

@Perexi im the same, I keep those plain kallo rice cakes at my bedside and have it in the middle of the night, it’s healthy enough that I don’t feel guilty about not brushing my teeth again!

LaForza101 · 13/02/2023 21:43

@TeddyBeans I know, I know, I'm terrible at resting! I'll try and appreciate the peace while I can but I just want baby to be here safe and sound now 🙂

TeddyBeans · 13/02/2023 21:44

@Splashh I never had one last time, I was induced before 40 weeks and they only offered them from 40 weeks 5 years ago. Hopefully someone else can advise. I'm just in the mindset that I want her out by any means necessary 🤣 preferably in a big warm pool of water

OP posts:
TeddyBeans · 13/02/2023 21:47

@LaForza101 do! The newborn stage can be quite intense depending on if you get a clingy one or not. Binge watch some crap on telly, read a book you've been meaning to read for ages. I've used my time to catch up on my scrapbooks that I am hilariously and dreadfully far behind on 🫣

Statistically the sweep is not too effective but depends how badly you want to speed up getting baby out

havanamama · 13/02/2023 21:58

Those that are already mums:
Did you use any post partum belly belts?

Room4onemore · 13/02/2023 22:22

I had a sweep at 41 weeks with my 3rd and I had him 6 hours later lol

Ubbee · 13/02/2023 22:23

@Splashh I had a sweep at 40+2 last time and baby was born next day.
There’s good evidence to support their effectiveness, especially from DD.
Im also going to have at 39 weeks this time as will try anything to avoid induction but won’t be holding my breath. Don’t think there’s much to lose, slightly uncomfortable maybe but nothing compared to what’s to come! Why is she recommending you have them early?

@havanamama i didn’t try anything like that. Was lucky it all just popped back first time - don’t imagine it will be as easy this time!

Splashh · 13/02/2023 22:42

Good to know thanks guys. @Ubbee I have antiphospholipid syndrome so they recommend I don't go much over the due date which is fine. With the sweep I understand its uncomfortable and I hear there's obviously a risk of infection but if it works then I guess it is better than being medically induced...

Blocklynn · 14/02/2023 07:02

@JB2021 they have booked me in for an individual meeting with a midwife at St Mary’s when I’m 36 weeks so happy with that. Where have you decided to give birth if you don’t mind me asking?

JB2021 · 14/02/2023 07:21

@Blocklynn glad you're booked in.

This is my first baby so I feel so relaxed at St Mary's, plus the advantage of having visited, I'm just a little nervous if anything "goes wrong". Defo Leaning to St Mary's. Looking at our dates, we may end up there at the same time. I feel there you'd be a person not a number

I’m the same - c section booked in two weeks. On maternity and can’t help myself but crammed my dairy out the next two weeks with plans 🤣

when I’m in the house I can’t stop busting around and get bored so easy if I’ve nothing to do. My partners constantly saying for gods sake just put your feet up and relax 😂
I’m a doer tho...after my last baby I was up and out to the airport when baby was two weeks old.

Maybe book some coffee dates with friends? Hair and nail appts? To break up the days. That’s what I’ve done 🥴 plus taking my son paint balling and having 6 kids for a sleep over this weekend 😬

Babynum2 · 14/02/2023 09:11

Hi Ladies happy V.Day! Any babies today? I'm still in hospital I've got an infection and for some reason still being sick so having antibiotics by IV. Arnie is doing really well no more feeding tube but still has breathing help hopefully coming up to the ward with me tomorrow they are going to try take him off the machines tonight. How is everyone feeling?

Cuppasoupmonster · 14/02/2023 09:52

Hi Babynum! Glad Arnie is doing well, will be great for you to be reunited with him, although the infection sounds horrible, I hope you feel better soon! 💐

Just had my growth scan, baby is 5lb6 at 32+4 😳🤯 my daughter was 6lb5 at 37+0 so he’s looking to be quite a lot bigger. Just waiting to see the consultant where we should be setting an eviction date and going over the scan 🤞🏻
