Fingers crossed for your water birth @TeddyBeans

Looks like DC has chickenpox so that’s a bit of a pain. 😕

TeddyBeans · 24/02/2023 11:16

@Moonicorn I'm okay, can't help but feel a bit deflated but nothings been taken off the cards for certain yet so there's still a glimmer of hope

@iratepirate thank you ❤️ I still live in hope! Sorry to hear about the CP though, bit pants timing 🙁

Saltandpepperr · 24/02/2023 11:19

@TeddyBeans hope you still get your waterbirth and things start to progress for you.
We don't have a name yet I'm still shocked how fast it was the midwife also was and said its a lot more painful when it is faster so I done well with no drugs. I screamed for epidural when I got here but she said your 10cm it's to late!
He just needs his baby checks then we can go home x

Ahh congratulations he is so cute. Your birth is exactly how my last one went. So I'm a bit nervous about this one incase it's so fast.

allthingssparkly · 24/02/2023 11:23

@JTB123 I hope things are progressing for you? 🙏 please send me positivity about the balloon I'll be having it on Tuesday and praying all goes smoothly 🤞

How are things @TeddyBeans?

& Congratulations @Saltandpepperr 🎉

Dreamingof3 · 24/02/2023 11:27

Congratulations @Saltandpepperr can't believe how quick that was, well done you!

Rainbowbaby23 · 24/02/2023 11:59

Is anyone else constantly BOILING
temp is fine but constantly hot hot hot oh my days

Room4onemore · 24/02/2023 12:18

@Saltandpepperr congratulations xx

TeddyBeans · 24/02/2023 12:20

Induction booked for 10pm Monday. The Dr was trying desperately to manage my expectations of having a water birth. Told her it's fine if I don't get it, I'd rather little miss is safe which is true, I'd just prefer to be in the pool if at all possible 🤣 I've got this weekend to try and get her to come on her own!

@Saltandpepperr Congratulations!!

@TeddyBeans Hope the Dr gives a positive for the water birth

@Rainbowbaby23 - Me too, always feel hot.

allthingssparkly · 24/02/2023 12:23

Ahh at least you've got a date @TeddyBeans unless of course she comes before then. I really wanted to avoid induction but I'm not convinced baby will make a spontaneous appearance between now and Tuesday. He's too comfortable 😆

Can't believe this could well be my last weekend as a mum of two 🥺

allthingssparkly · 24/02/2023 12:24

Yes I have been feeling super hot recently @Rainbowbaby23 😩 swear it's down to the pregnancy hormones!

Cats23 · 24/02/2023 12:40

Dilemma....
I am due 27th March, but induction will be between 37-38weeks (8th March-15th- No date yet!)
I dont know wether to work up till the 7th or or 3rd!

My job is super super easy and I work between 9-2.30x 3x a week and 9.30-12.30 The other x2 a week.

The 3xDc are at school so thats no issue.

I feel heavy at mo ( 35+4 ) and as mentioned before 'Odd' the last few days, as though early labour- Aching back and huge pressure below.

Would you work up to the last day before induction?

Blocklynn · 24/02/2023 12:40

@Saltandpepperr congratulations! 🥰

@TeddyBeans get doing all the tricks to get her out!

Saltandpepperr · 24/02/2023 10:27

Hi ladies so after my sweep yesterday afternoon I woke up to a pop at 4.20am and my waters went. My contractions were pretty much 2 mins apart straight away was 10cm when I got to hospital and we had a little boy born at 6.11 weighing 8.4lb born at 38+4. He is fine I feel OK had some stitches but they said I can probably go home later today I'm so inlove!

Really good going love! Well done and congratulations xxx

I had mild contractions for maybe 5 hours after insertion, but I managed 6 hours with barley any from midnight and was able to sleep 🤞🏻 and then it came out so been positive so far! Still waiting for a space on Labour ward for them to break my waters. Glad it came out at 8 and not at 6pm tonight when they were going to take it out, GOD KNOWs when I'd have made it up there then x

iratepirate · 24/02/2023 12:53

@Cats23 i’ll be working right up until things kick off. Thankfully only one more day of travelling in the next week and other than that it can be done from home or local office. Just means that my DH can take as much parental leave as possible. (I won’t use any of my allowance).

TeddyBeans · 24/02/2023 12:53

@JTB123 I know right!? Will be napping as much as possible on Monday while small's at school

OP posts:
allthingssparkly · 24/02/2023 12:54

Ooo I'm glad it's all positive for you so far @JTB123so I presume you've dilated past 4cm if they've taken the balloon out?

What are the chances of your waters going naturally or is that unlikely to happen? Hopefully you get a bed on the labour ward soon 🤞

I'd want some time off ahead to relax and enjoy some self care personally!

Moonicorn · 24/02/2023 13:21

Well that was an interesting appointment.

Belly is now 36cm at 34w so a bit bigger than last time 😬 really hoping he hasn’t sped up growing even more but it looks like he has 😭

I said I wasn’t going to bother making a birth plan because there’s not much to do with a 37 week induction bar go with the flow 🤷🏼‍♀️ And now the pool is off the cards, I’m not really fussed about the more minor details anyway.

I’ve said if the baby measures over 8.5lb at the next scan I’m going to request a c-section because I just don’t want to risk him getting stuck, and I wouldn’t feel confident birthing a baby of that size, especially with the difference between the head and tummy. She agreed and said she would do the same in my shoes.

So I guess it’s just wait for the scan now before I make a final decision! She had a feel and said his head is so low and engaged she’s not sure I’ll make it to induction date anyway, which would solve the whole thing I guess.
