@JTB123 hope everything is going well and progressing for you 🤞

JTB123 · 24/02/2023 07:25

Contractions stopped around midnight and I was able to get some sleep, had the odd one between then and now. Balloon will be taken out at 6pm if not fallen out before, and then hopefully sent to labour ward for waters broken (which can take up to a day to find you a bed 🫠🫠)

JTB123 · 24/02/2023 08:12

Oooh balloon came out (midwife told me to gently tug it when I next go for a wee to see if it was ready to fall out) and it did 👌😂 so I'm in a big queue now for the Labour ward 🫠

Rainbowbaby23 · 24/02/2023 08:23

@JTB123 goodluck!! Hopefully you aren’t waiting too long

So exciting with all the babies starting to make an appearance!

4 more week's of work here unless he comes early 😂

TeddyBeans · 24/02/2023 09:31

On my way in for monitoring. Loads of Braxton hicks but no discernable movements since yesterday afternoon. Watch her kick off as soon as the monitors are put on 🤦‍♀️

Exactly what I thought! I've had to write a few emails letting people know baby came early and excusing myself out of some work things - including to a couple of people that didn't even know I was pregnant 🤣

Baby is hopefully weaning off glucose and onto milk in NICU today after her blood sugars were more stable overnight. I'm pumping and feeling v grateful for the nurses and that this isn't my first baby - don't know how first timers cope with all this

Moonicorn · 24/02/2023 09:35

Hope it goes okay Teddy!

34 weeks today and feeling fed up! Can’t sleep, can hardly pee, lots of braxton hicks and just feeling generally very uncomfortable. How do people do this for another 6 or even 8 weeks 🤯 i can’t take a proper deep breath because it feels like everything is so squashed so it’s making me feel a little panicky all the time.

Got midwife at 12 for my birth ‘plan’ and check up so that’s a good uphill walk. Trying so hard to stay semi active to keep him head down and stop everything from seizing up but all I want to do is lie here and eat chocolate buttons!

iratepirate · 24/02/2023 09:48

Saw midwife yday and apparently they don’t go through birth plans at our trust, but suggest you “have a think about preferences”. Which I’ve done, but obv that’s not necessarily going to make it to the delivery ward at the time.

38w today so I’m assuming at least 8 more days of work, although part of me would prefer them to arrive earlier.

havananana · 24/02/2023 10:02

Birth plans - I just downloaded the NHS form and printed it to put in my pregnancy notes

It goes over everything from pain relief to students present, vitamin K, etc

iratepirate · 24/02/2023 10:06

Yeah, I’ve got it all written down. Just seems a bit futile when they don’t even look at it or refer to it. But things will go how they will go at the time, so it’s not like really matters anyway.

TeddyBeans · 24/02/2023 10:13

@iratepirate I think it's cuz you have to consent to everything in the hospital anyway before they'll do anything so it's a bit of a futile exercise

Hi ladies so after my sweep yesterday afternoon I woke up to a pop at 4.20am and my waters went. My contractions were pretty much 2 mins apart straight away was 10cm when I got to hospital and we had a little boy born at 6.11 weighing 8.4lb born at 38+4. He is fine I feel OK had some stitches but they said I can probably go home later today I'm so inlove!

Dreamingof3 · 24/02/2023 10:30

I hope it's all ok @TeddyBeans

My midwife said one main reason they might go over birth plans is so you're aware of your options before birth, rather than things being sprung on you in labour

So my last consultant appt apparently isn't my last! Baby's growth has dropped ever so slightly off her line so they want me back in 3 weeks (which is 2 days before my due date so might have had her by then anyway!) To check it hasn't dropped more. They don't seem too worried but also never had that before so wasn't expecting it!

Saltandpepperr · 24/02/2023 10:30

He's a little chunky

On the monitor now. Little bit sad cuz there's 3+ protein in my urine. Was really hoping to get away with it this time. The midwife has said that it's not necessarily over for my water birth but will see what the Dr says at my review later

Congrats Salt, what a gorgeous little pumpkin! 💙

Perexi · 24/02/2023 11:02

@TeddyBeans oh no! Hopefully the water birth isn't totally out of the question would be such a shame at this late stage.

Oh poop! Are you ok? It’s so disappointing when these things happen. Fingers crossed it doesn’t go any further!

@Saltandpepperr Congratulations! What a chunky little sausage! 💐💐💐
